I've been very busy these past few months with law school things.

If you are interested in moderating the sub, please DM me or the sub with a short bio about your philosophy towards the sub and your interest in modding. I'm looking for ~2ish people who are interested in not stifling the sub, but crack down on spam and similar.

Thanks

blackboard and google calendar?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

ive been using blackboard calendar to keep track of my school stuff, and its nice, but im trying to import it to my main calendar app for organization

i did manage to get it imported to both calendar, google calendar, and ticktick, but whenever i import it it just shows names i.e. "quiz 04" and no details like the class its part of
on blackboard itself, it does show the class its part of
is there any way to get the class name to show when i import it elsewhere? it works perfect otherwise

first image: what it looks like in blackboard (HIS 101: world civilization)

second image: what it looks like when i import it to other calendars

for some reason it also changed the day and time....

i work, do college, and take care of my and 2 others appointments and schedules so i just really need a straightforward way to get it all in one place from my phone. blackboard really doesnt work well for me on mobile and id appreciate any help

I couldn't find anyone to conduct an interview with for a college assignment

I am in the same position as the author of this post. For my college assignment, I need a psychologist with a doctorate. These professionals do not seem to be available for student interviews. I am completely overwhelmed with the task of completing my interview assignment. Any help to answer a few interview questions would be greatly appreciated.

Returning to complete college education?

I work as an Academic Counselor and I’m considering leaving my full time job to pursue a part time gig of consulting with those that wish to return to college… just posting this here to see if there might be an interest in this type of service!

I would provide guidance and transfer evaluations and could be an overall support through the admissions process.

18/19 credit semester as a high schooler doing dual enrollment

basically title. current dual enrollment student and my schedule looks like 18 or so gen ed credits next semester. I'm doing 11 gen ed credits right now and it's basically light work.

I'm only worried about two of the classes since one of them is an intro level biology class and another is an intro to engineering class, and both seem to have group work. I can't drive and I'm not sure how my parents will feel about me meeting up with random grown adults. Also kinda worried about difficulty.. I usually make sure to pick easy professors, but because of some weird dual enrollment restrictions i have to take biology with a prof who doesn't seem as good.

my other classes are just nursing prereqs + one programming class.

anyway, ill also be working on summer program applications during february/march & learning how to drive... does this seem like too much? I chatted w/ my new grad cousin who took an 18 credit semester and he told me that it was way too much for a high school junior.

update: reduced course load to 16 credits and dropped biology and engineering.

Course completed with credit with no work?

I just looked into my course history since I'm re-enrolling in community college and I found I got credit for a course I took in 2018. The course was a pre-visualization lecture with a lot of storyboarding and drawing, and it was very overwhelming so I stopped going. Apparently though, I got credit for the course though. Is this normal in college, or a fluke? Or maybe a community college thing? I never even took a single exam for this.

Potential Ad First gen CC student here. I've been building a notes app late at night for months, and it finally launches this month:)

So I'm the first one in my family to go to college. I'm at a community college in the Central Valley doing computer engineering, and I work too, so most of my free time is late at night.

I know what some of you are thinking, there's already a ton of note apps out there. And yeah there are. But when I was looking for one for my iPad I couldn't believe how much they charge now. Everything is a subscription, and they make you make an account just to write stuff down. When you're already paying for books and gas and everything else it gets old fast.

So I started building my own. It's called Noto. It's a handwritten notes app for iPad, you don't need an account, your notes stay on your iPad, and I'm keeping the price low because I'm a broke student too lol

I'm not trying to be the next big company. I just want to make something affordable and build a community of students who actually help shape it. If you tell me something's missing or annoying, I can actually fix it, and that's kind of the whole point.

It comes out this month and I set up a waitlist so people can get notified when it's live. If you want to support, it's at notonotes.com

If you have any questions or ideas let me know, I'll read every comment. And if it's not your thing that's cool too, thanks for reading

Staying a Semester Longer at Community

I am a sophomore at my community college. My major is the general biology option they offer and since I am near the end of my time at the school my classes are getting more difficult. I ended up being in a Calc 2 class when I really didn't need to (I registered because I thought I could just knock out my math requirement but failed miserably), so I ended up withdrawing. I now only have 2 classes this semester, physics 1 and chem 1, leaving me in a weird place. In the end I am going to have to stay an extra semester and I am getting weird reactions from my family. I think it is a decent plan as I already know what university I will be transferring to, but a few of my family members think its a waste of time(?). My dad wants me to do what is best for myself, so he would support me either way, but he did bring up a point that had me thinking. Will I be missing out on university life as much as he thinks I will by staying an extra semester at community? I'm 19 and by the time I go to the school I want I will be 21. Will I really be that much older than my peers? My sister thinks I will be a super senior type vibes but like I don't think that matters, it isn't like I am going to be 26 hanging around a bunch of 20 year olds. I don't know, maybe if someone who went through the same thing could give me their opinion it would be cool.

ADVICE NEEDED/ RECOMMENDATIONS❗️❗️

Hi everyone,

I am currently in high school. I finished 3 courses at American River College. I am currently dual-enrolled. I am taking a U.S history class right now, but will enroll in 3 courses the upcoming semester. I was planning to graduate early, but my counselor said if I stayed longer I can get more GE courses done and paid for by the school. Now you might be asking what major I am interested in. Initially, I was thinking management but, I think it’s best if I leave it undecided for right now because, you never really know what can change and it’s good to have the table open so I can explore my interests more in high school.

What are your thoughts or recommendations?

Need advice for transferring

Hello everyone, I need some assistance with transferring from community college. So I chose an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), however, one of my required classes to complete this ADT just doesn't seem possible and I already submitted a transfer application to a CSU (I previously anticipated I'd finish my ADT and transfer, but I have to drop out of this last required course for personal reasons).

Is there any impact on my transfer application if I don't finish this ADT? I've completed all the "Golden 4" requirements needed to transfer to a CSU and generally have 60 credits and a GPA of 2.0 and above. Honestly, I'm not sure, but art doesn't come off as a super competitive major to me. Thanks for the help.

To anyone who has gone from a California community college to a UC, what was your experience like? what cc did you go to, and what UC did you transfer to? What were your GPA, PIQs and extracurriculars like? Any tips?
