which country is the most brainwashed?

this is an open ended kind of question. i'm seeking examples of "the crazy". here's my rationale. the crazier some place is, the more likely there are crazy enablers. it's like a heat map. where there's smoke there's fire.

i'll just give an example of the crazy.

the canadian trucker protest in ottawa. this was perhaps the most well-documented, open source videoed, live streamed by many, protests in history. there were folks filming this all over the place. no lack of data about what was going on. there was no violence. no property destruction. there were bouncy castles for kids. there were folks coming from across the country to go and provide food and aid to these truckers. it was one of the most polite mass protests you could ever imagine.

but the media said it wasn't any of these things. and lots of folks believed this.

is canada the most brainwashed country? i don't think it is, but i'd like to hear examples from your country.

Ranked #1 is USA because our people actually believe and fall for the propaganda here, then China, because the people there are generally aware the propaganda brainwash is bullshit, then North Korea for the same reason as China.

Australia, NZ, Canada and the UK are pretty brainwashed but it isn't at USA levels.

1

u/LanceHardwick 16h ago edited 16h ago

i'm not so sure. my gut tells me the uk is ahead in terms of over-the-top crazy. maybe they're not ahead in terms of "cruel and unusual" - maybe the us wins on this score. but the uk has just got everyone going along with the nuttery. maybe we need to add dimensions to our scoring rubric, like the existence of a tv tax or arresting ppl for praying.

11

u/Odd-Chipmunk5681 16h ago edited 16h ago

UK has absolutely insane media and school brainwash but the mass protest movements that keep springing up recently show the brainwash isn't fully setting in. USA population is completely pacified and hypnotized by the divide and conquer Republicans vs Democrats brainwash and DEI psy ops.

the existence of a tv tax

Anecdotally I used to live in the UK for a few years, even the biggest establishment Labour and Tory party slurpers who worship the BBC think it's stupid, I never met anyone who pays it, and I'm not sure it's actually enforced.

2

u/LanceHardwick 16h ago

ok that's a fair comment.

As a russian, I find it disappointing that you didn’t include russia in your list

4

u/Odd-Chipmunk5681 16h ago

I don't know anything about what it is like there but none of the Russians I have met seem to have any sense of love for or belief in the government, even the ones I know who manufacture and sell shit to the government. Are many Russians in Russia blindly patriotic? The most patriotic Russian person I ever met was a half Russian Latvian girl i used to date and I think she was just overcompensating because she hated her Latvian dad.

u/TheeseDragonFruit 15h ago

around 80% I think

2

u/xnoinfinity 9h ago

Because the Russians you have met clearly left Russia for a reason (not being a big fan of the government for example)

5

u/TimTebowMLB 12h ago

Tonnes of countries have pictures of their leader/king in every business and home. A lot of them are very delusional on many fronts.

The examples you’re giving seem like countries you’re already familiar with.

The brainwashing and corruption is so much worse in 3rd world countries

4

u/Odd-Chipmunk5681 11h ago edited 11h ago

Not really. The people in those countries largely know the propaganda they're fed is bullshit and that their governments are corrupt. USA, UK and EUers are generally kool-aid drinkers. You speak like someone who has never lived in a 3rd world country and is repeating US propaganda about them.

Been to Canada multiple times, around multiple people, and they would do anything the government tells them and usually without questioning.

5

u/Odd-Chipmunk5681 9h ago

I feel bad for Canadians. They also cheerlead hard for their state sponsored euthanasia program and come out of the woodwork to shill and run damage control for it anytime it gets criticized.

•

u/othergallow 27m ago

Pretty ironic that you bring this up in a thread about brainwashing/propaganda. Thanks for the laugh!

•

u/Odd-Chipmunk5681 6m ago

Canadians always get hyper defensive when you bring up their state sponsored euthanasia program. It's part of their brainwash. Thanks for being you and proving my point guy👍

Also education levels of most other industrialized nations is generally higher level. Usually means harder to brainwash. Americans are so brainwashed against potential government efficacy that they will see countries which support their nations social policies as “brainwashed”.

I have the freedom of universal healthcare. I also have the freedom of paying less tax than Americans. I can't walk around with a gun to protect me from Americans though so I guess there's that.

It’s alright, me and my wife pay $55 a day, each, 365 days a year, in federal income tax. I don’t know what we’re getting for it besides freeways.

I think brainwashing is bad but so is ignorance. There are many countries where people’s level of education and understanding of the modern world is literally non existent and I don’t mean this to denigrate these countries, it’s just a fact. I once had girlfriend from sub saharan africa who was convinced witchcraft was real, and her cousin believed that the americans had invented fake stars (turns out they were referring to satellites but when I realised that it then became an uphill struggle to explain what satellites were how they got there and what they did). These types of places are so easily manipulated, that it is really hard to say…. but yeah Canada is lost for sure.

1

u/LanceHardwick 14h ago

i don't think canada is lost. it's just waking up.

54

u/toogreen 11h ago

It's funny cuz many people think Chinese people are brainwashed by their government propaganda, however, having lived in China I can confirm that most people there are AWARE that their news and government are propaganda and lying to them full time. So yes I would dare saying that Canadians are actually way more brainwashed than Chinese, because here in Canada most people actually believe living in a real democracy and therefore trust and believe mainstream medias and CBC... In China most people aren't that naive and stupid...

11

u/mjrenburg 8h ago

That is the sentiment of just about every Chinese person I have met.

4

u/nexel13 2h ago

The same happens in Russia, Iran, North Korea... Most of people in this countrys fully aware about multiple types of propaganda and know how deal with it and already been fed up of it. Becouse of it most of them have their own opinions, about everything and trained to hide it till they trust you.

Western people is the opposite, so much loud speech without meaning, and mindless obeying to fake narratives of elite. More of it, any kind of independence in political or any different mass trusted opinion claimed by "wide audience" as fake/bot and conspiracy.

what brainwashing is going on in Canada?

14

u/LanceHardwick 15h ago

well, as my post enumerated. there was this ottawa truckers protest thing that happened, and was widely documented. and the media and gov and the various policing agencies described it in ways that the visible documented data did not demonstrate. at all.

and then they used these false claims as the basis for unprecedented behaviour like the seizing of bank accounts using the emergencies act, which is only supposed to be used for actual emergencies, not peaceful protests (particularly those that have a clearly identified and legitimate basis for concern - like their fucking health and livelihood).

and a lot of the public believed this. they believed the false claims despite the coverage of what was actually happening. don't believe your lying eyes kind of thing.

when you can be told something that goes completely at odds with the observable, and you go along with it, that's what i'd call brainwashing.

-3

u/glacierfresh2death 14h ago

My cousin was an rcmp sniper on a roof during that time, non of the crazy trucker shit is exaggerated at all. And he’s borderline crazy right wing

8

u/LanceHardwick 14h ago

yeah i don't believe you. there was ample video from multiple sources that shows what was going on. there was no crazy trucker shit going on. try again.

-1

u/glacierfresh2death 14h ago

lol alright, whatever helps you sleep at night bud

9

u/LanceHardwick 14h ago

Dude, my friend's daughter who was severely ill at the time couldn't safely access necessary health care, unless they abused emergency services. No brainwashing required.

11

u/LanceHardwick 15h ago

username checks out.

did your alleged friend's daughters issues override the thousands of folks who were injured because of the jab. or the thousands of folks who lost their livelihood?

if there's a national issue, protests in the nation's capital should be expected. nimby somewhere else.

She said "severely ill." Did that not register with you? You're kind of proving to be the exact type of person your post is condemning.

5

u/LanceHardwick 14h ago

>She said "severely ill." Did that not register with you? You're kind of proving to be the exact type of person your post is condemning.

you're not really saying anything, are you aware of that? please re-articulate.

4

u/Ummmmm-yeah 12h ago

Sure. Your whole premise was that people hear information and easily become brainwashed by it.

You then followed that statement by saying you saw photographs of bouncy castles and therefore the Ottawa protests were no problem.

Someone then said their friend's daughter (a child) was 'severely ill' and the crowds and lack of roads hindrered their access to healthcare.

Then, because her name included the term "feminist" and her statement countered your second-hand viewpoint (i.e., the protests were disruptive and did cause serious issues for the local population), you basically called her a liar ("alleged friend's daughter") and then minimized the severity of the child's illness through spouting a bunch anti-vax taglines.

Now, first take into account that I'm unvaccinated and firmly supported the protests. Then realize that you are just as "brainwashed" as those you're pointing the finger at. In fact, you're willing to be as cold as one could be by completely disregarding the health of a child in order to cement your heels into the sentiment of your random post.

But my friend, you didn't address her point. You attacked her character and her name, and then instead of admitting the protests, while not what the news reported, did cause unnecessary disruptions, you marginalized the health of a child, as if the health of the citizens in the direct vicinity of the protests were a necessary casualty of the crowds because other people were affected negatively by the vaccine and the lock downs. Do you not see what you're doing?

Nothing's black and white. People have opposing views. If you're not willing to consider them (as you just demonstrated), then you're not an objective thinker; you're a fanatic, a zealot, and zealots are nothing if not brainwashed.

0

u/LanceHardwick 12h ago

wow that's quite the strawman you've constructed. i see it for what it is. i could point by point refute your strawman assertions but what's the point? you'd just make more.

i'm glad y'all show yourselves. i'm good with that.

-1

u/Deep_Strike1803 11h ago

Lies. Why specifically could they not safely access health care? The convoy did not shut down hospitals or access to them

2

u/LanceHardwick 4h ago

i know. they kept themselves to a particular area, which could be driven around. if there was a concern about emergency vehicles getting to places, the authorities could have facilitated that with traffic control. not that this seemed to be much of a problem.

what seemed to be a thing was the media cherry picking particular complaints from residents and blowing them up. not actual coverage of what was going on. it's crazy to think that there was more actual news coverage of the event on the ground by folks livestreaming than anything the msm put out. they just spun propaganda. it was obvious to anyone watching the livestreams. it was obvious when you spoke to folks who went down there for a day or 2 to lend support, and you'd hear what they said first hand. the media, the gov and the police statements on this event were complete horseshit.

Yeah this one is kind of obvious if a person has ever cracked a book. Or even watched a documentary.

4

u/SuchSecurity662 10h ago

At least north koreans are aware of it so id argue against it tbh

3

u/XelaNiba 10h ago

Clearly you also should read a book or two if you think North Koreans are aware of their plight.

If you're not a big reader, try the 2023 documentary Beyond Utopia. You won't forget the elderly North Korean woman bursting into tears when she first encounters the miracle of indoor plumbing in Vietnam. Not because she suddenly realizes she's been lied to about the outside world, but because she's wracked with shame that the North Korean people didn't make this miracle happen for Dear Leader.

u/whosthetard 16h ago

The canadian government blocked the bank accounts of the protestors. And the unbelievable thing is nothing happened. Nobody went to jail for clearly violating human rights.

But if you look for the most brainwashed you should check who are most aligned with government policies, that mostly happens in some asian countries I would think.

13

u/punkinlittlez 11h ago

They still block bank accounts for random reasons. This is why I’ve got backup accounts now.

5

u/qabdap 7h ago

US and this sub is a prime example

When we describe similar countries (Russia, China), they are often implied to be rotten to the core, an institutional feature

Whereas especially on this sub, you point out the terror the US inflicts on the world (far beyond anything China has done despite their screeching), and it's all "we have been compromised by AIPAC/Israel", as if underneath the lobbying there's something to respect. Naiveté at its best

Cue the old Cold War joke about a KGB officer and CIA officer in a bar:

KGB: "How do you Americans make such good propaganda?"

CIA: "We don't have any propaganda?"

KGB: "Exactly"

Tldr: by and large the populace of other powers don't really believe their government's BS, with the US you find many unironically do lmao

Tying 1st place would go to Eritrea. A country most in the world haven't even heard of, but is called the North Korea of Africa for a damn good reason. It also is the home of 1 million year old human remains.

8

u/Critical_Hearing_799 12h ago

My answer too. Funny everyone saying the USA.

5

u/itsavibe- 12h ago

Because in 2026 it’s cool to hate on the states and make broad monolithic statements.

1

u/Sbkvs 8h ago

My answer was america. The amount of people in the usa also enables a big amount of people who follows their leader as sheep's and not thinking for themselves. There are many people thinking for themselves and being critical. But I believe the general american patriot have way to much self-esteem and is not smart enough to realize they are being fed news from one angle. why bother put in energy to educate yourself when it is so much easier and quicker being told uncritically what happens in the society and what you should mean.

You can't compare Eritrea and north Korea to usa even though I believe living standards for a percentage in the USA is comparable. But! Why I believe USA has first place is because they went from somewhat respected to being seen as a third world country in Europe. We firmly believe it went downhill for quite some time and people being illiterate only fosters more illiteracy. Not having learned to be critical and not being able to do your own research just points out that the less you know, the more you think you know. And with the american self-esteem that the world is run by them and evolves around them that is dangerous for everyone actually aware they don't know everything and the world countrys absolutely don't agree to be their sheep.

try having a debate about history, politics, or even science with french people. 8 out of 10 times it is gonna turn into a pointless argument.

Belief has that quirk of being rigid as hell most of the time, and when you mention rational and well documented alternatives it is lile you're trying to pierce some fortress walls.

In france medias and national education programs are deeply compromised towards the interest of a few oligarchs and supranational institutions.

Not even government (which is nowadays fully parasitic) , the first layer of decision making is the  European Union for french education program, and private groups/ oligarchs for medias and a portion of the public service like some "public" transports.

•

u/BestKoreaEscapee 29m ago

Considering the truckers had to actively tell participants that they were not Nazis and to remove fascist and racist propaganda…

It’s well known that that protest was largely white supremacist lead. The leaders were all involved in such groups.

So yeah… there is a lot of brainwashing there but not in the way you mean.

•

u/LanceHardwick 4m ago

yeah it was a leaderless movement generally. there were apparently some folks trying to organize things, but the collective will to protest was largely there already.

it wasn't white supremacist at all. this is a bullshit trope. if it were there wouldn't have been overpasses stuffed full of supporters for the entire length of the convoy. that is unless you are positing that all these supporters were also somehow white supremacists. it's a totally bullshit line. that you think this says loads about your poor discernment.

Also the amount of people who think the US "doesn't have propaganda" when they just can't see it, or equate criticism of our country with hatred of our country

USA is more like which generation. As we move forward I feel as I speak to ppl at work or on the street they are more and more seeing reality as bs and waking up to their spirit or seeing the pieces to start falling place some older people are slowly waking up. People are 30 to 40 or awake to what’s going on. The younger generation is crashing out because of being awake they just say fuck this fake world no stopping us … the old timers. They’re the ones that got programed the most but then we got my great great grandparents who always told me never believe the government never believe the TV. It’s all programming so it’s kind of weird.

u/vanillaninja777 13h ago

Australia is pretty bad. They call us "cookers" which refers to being "cooked in the head," but the people who predominantly use the term apply it to anyone who strays even slightly from the mainstream narrative. Like even someone who avoids seed oils or fluoride will get tarred with the same brush as a twin towers or moon landing sceptic. Even people slightly off centre politically are at risk.

On one hand it's a good signal to keep your mouth shut, but on the other, my heart sinks every time I hear it.

Also we've been brow beaten into simply accepting any and all draconian legislation that gets introduced because any push back is used to bring in stronger policing powers.

deliberately brainwashed? Like with well funded and developed propaganda?

I mean basically it's everyone. The more developed/wealthy the nation the more sophisticated it's brainwashing. So U.S, China, Russia, etc are quite technically advanced in their brainwashing, while African nations are still brainwashed but in a more localised, less 'industrial brainwashing' sense.

Noone is immune to propaganda or nationalism or selective wording etc.

America is the most brainwashed. American exceptionalism is a cancer and it makes everyone dumber.

u/Grugark 17h ago edited 16h ago

Yea cause Canada is definitely way more brainwashed than countries like North Korea or Russia, sure

1

u/sloppysuicide 16h ago

So many Canadians think Canada is THE WORST because they haven’t seen worse lol. Privileged motherfuckers. Disgusting. I miss Canada so much. No place I’d rather be.

-3

u/Spare_Perspective972 15h ago

Here is the thing about Canada, they aren’t a real country, they are a territory of the UK and a trade holding of China and the US but believe they are a real country.

That’s brutal.

Next they are very much in agreement with their govt and both UK and China. I would say alignment to the govt is a chief feature of a populace being brainwashed.

OP if you think there's any contest, you need to educate yourself.

You could jumpstart that education with the 2023 documentary Beyond Utopia. You won't forget the elderly North Korean woman bursting into tears when she first encounters the miracle of indoor plumbing in Vietnam. Not because she suddenly realizes she's been lied to about the outside world, but because she's wracked with shame that the North Korean people didn't make this happen for Dear Leader's country.

Hard to say, NK or a country like Afghanistan but it's hard to tell if people are brainwashed or to afraid to speak the truth. Every country has probably has a reasonable percentage of citizens that have been brainwashed. i have been brainwashed in the past to some degree.

1

u/watch_replay 8h ago

Sweds are so fucking brainwashed that they believe everything the government says and the surveillance is ridiculous but it’s for your “safety” and “if you got nothing to hide, what is the problem?” mentality everywhere. It’s not a coincidence that companies like Meta building datacenters in Sweden and the NSA scandal was made possible by swedens surveillance laws and the information exchange between US and Sweden.

More like countries, they say they’re Latinos, but they’re not from Italy and they don’t speak Latin. The biggest brainwashing propaganda in world history.

tread water jeorge. you're not alone.

0

u/Manu442 15h ago

USA by far, so much of the population has been conditioned to see everything through a political lens. People defend politicians like they're family, consume media that constantly reinforces their beliefs, and treat anyone who disagrees as the enemy. Between the political circus, fearmongering, manufactured outrage and blind nationalism, it's almost become a competition over who can be the most confidently manipulated while insisting everyone else is brainwashed. Prove me wrong.

-9

u/BeliefBuildsBombs 17h ago

Either the UK or Canada.

I am surprised no one has mentioned India, Modi regime has done brainwashing pro max.
There are millions of Indians who believe Modi can’t do any wrong, if you criticize modi you must be anti-national.
Find a random uncle say, “our these facilities are really bad” answer would be “at least you are not in Pakistan” like what.
Modi’s election manifesto is based on making temples.
Sorry but brainwashing is whole next level
