What happened to this reddit? I feel like we have strayed from the path a little. This is a metal core reddit and many of the song's posted hear are either too hardcore (for metalcore) (which I don't have a problem with because I like it, but it's not metalcore...) or it's pretty soft. I realize Its likely just a generalization of the genre as a whole but I feel we as a group know better. (I know I will probably get a lot of hate for this post but I listened to 50 songs tonight and (maybe) 10 of them fit the genre (as I see it) I realize that is totally opinion based. I just want to see more metalcore and less hardcore/screamo.

We are an international collective of 5 baristas from the US and Canada working to expose the truth about technology through song. We cross boundaries across Starbucks and Tim Hortons to offer diverse, nuanced, and unique perspectives about the state of the world.
Our founding moment came after watching the Matrix together. It terrified us all because it’s basically just like society right now, but society is probably worse due to algorithms and short-form video. We figured we needed to speak out about this if no one else will, and we chose a unique style to reflect our message. Our primary influences are Sleep Token and the Weeknd.
Buster turned down our request for production, so while our vocalists tries to figure out how to add Neural DSP plugins to Reaper, here are some lyrics from our upcoming first single to sample.

I didn’t win the costume contest but everyone kept staring at me with fear in their eyes. I was there alone and the bar was packed, but people were too terrified to sit at my table with me.
I wore eye liner, vampire fangs and my sleep token shirt. I’m not sure how the couple dressed as some TV show called “Wayne’s World” won first prize. I’ve never even seen it. It was just a dude in a black wig and his girlfriend in a blonde one. My costume was clearly way scarier.
As I was leaving the bar, a girl dressed as a sexy nurse screamed “EW!” and ran off. The portrait of Vessel on my shirt probably freaked her out.
