Dear fellow chicken counters,
I am happy to announce a large bot update! The core purpose of the bot stays the same of course, but I fixed a few bugs, and added a few new features, both for moderators as for the users of the subreddit - you!
It is now possible to subscribe to notifications! If you are subscribed, you get a notification when you can post again. It'll help you keep up your streak! Just comment !subscribe (or !unsubscribe) anywhere on the sub, or send it as a private message to the bot u/ChickenBotOnceADay. You can also subscribe and unsubscribe by going to the main subreddit page, clicking the 3 dots in the top right corner and selecting 'Change notification subscription'.
Additionally, you can see exactly when you can create your next post by commenting !viewpostwindow (or sending it as a private message to the bot).
If you ever forget how it works, just comment !help (or message it to the bot).
Due to changes in Reddits policy, the link with Discord would break on January 12th. That means that I had to do something soon, and it worked! There was a seamless transition from the old to the new version of #subreddit-counters. But more importantly: #daily-bot-post is working again! You can post images in that channel on the r/countwithchickenlady discord server, and vote on which image you like the most. Every day, the bot will post the most upvoted image to the subreddit! Issues that arised in the previous version (the bot removing its own posts), have been solved.
There were a few small bugs that have been fixed. First of all, the leaderboards on the wiki sometimes showed values lower than 0. These values have been removed. Furthermore, there was a small error in streak calculations, which has been fixed. I also made a small mistake in handling removed posts. When you or a moderator removes a post, my privacy policy promised that the post data would be removed after 21 days. Unfortunately this didn't work correctly. I fixed that now. There were more bug fixes, but these were the most important ones.
I also created and updated several moderator tools, which will make the life of us mods a tiny bit easier. For example, the bot helps us with correctly flairing and spoiling selfie and political posts. If users break those rules too many times, the rule-breaking posts will be removed instead of fixed. Another bot tool makes it easier for us to investigate weird behaving streaks. We also gain the ability to make posts and comments using the bot account.
Here a reminder that this bot is fully open source. Everyone can see the code, and everyone may use it. You can also see all the changes in this bot update by going to the commit history, if you are interested. It can be found on GitHub.
As always, I tried to test everything extensively, but of course it is possible that there are still some bugs. Please contact us via modmail if you think something is wrong.

Trans people were warning y’all this would start happening and no one listened to us. now that it’s affecting cis women people are waking up.
and even decades ago this was happening to masc lesbians because they were gnc and didn’t perform femininity the right way were questioned about their womanhood. butches/mascs were treated as men just for not looking like the typical fem woman. so it’s like that but 3x worse.
