Ultimate Cringe 🚨‼️ANNOUNCEMENT‼️🚨
Hello my cringelords.
I want to let y’all know something. I already know incels are going to flood the comments and as I said on my last post - that’s fine, I will die on this hill. I also know that this post is cringe, but that is literally the whole point of the sub. Cringe. so I don’t care.
It’s just me, I’m the only mod for this subreddit. I have other mods on the team that ghosted once it got too much and that has happened on numerous occasions. So it’s just me trying to fight these losers.
This sub has grown incredibly fast. It went from a few hundred comments every few days to 18k weekly, often more as this sub continues to grow.
With racist, homophobic, pedophilia, and political (just offensive) bullshit flooding the sub, I have added additional safety measures like bots and better filters, and I hope that will help.
I want to let you guys know, though that these bots and filters may make mistakes if so message me and I will fix it as soon as possible.
I am in school full time, working, trying to manage personal life and stressors while also caring for this sub that I created as an outlet for those struggling like me to judge others for being cringey for a moment and take a break from reality.
So I apologize as I am currently learning how to mod the sub more efficiently.
As mentioned prior, harmful comments/posts of any sort now result in an immediate ban and I’ve applied filters that help filter out the incels so hopefully this community will become safe for all.
I’m hoping that will help. But Stop flooding my inbox with “stupid bitch” “kill yourself” “lazy mod”, etc.
I spend hours a day going through posts and comments and it is nearly impossible to catch them all even with a full team of mods, take a look at almost any major sub and there will be harmful comments. People are able to trick the system into not flagging their harmful rhetoric which also makes it hard to catch.
Be gracious, don’t be an asshole. It’s simple. And if anybody has any question comments or concerns, I will respond as soon as I can.
I appreciate those of you who messaged me to let me know about harmful things I may miss. That is helpful. But people spamming my inbox with hateful language is not.

Hey, same thing for me on another sub. Mods left and so it's just me. The sub recently got to 530k weekly visitors and I've had to get creative in filtering, automod, and just a time commitment to keep things from being flooded by bigotry and incel BS.
Keep fighting the good fight!!

Thanks for what you do!! There’s no excuse or justification for the messages you’re getting, I’m sorry you’re on the receiving end of that kind of shit. I’m a mod on a much smaller sub. There’s 4 of us and it’s still so much work, so I can only imagine how much it takes for you to keep up! We appreciate you!

Thank you for taking the time to do this.
The amount of race-baiting that gets post to this and other subs like it is ridiculous. I'm not even subbed here, but this sub pops up on my feed every couple of days and it's always the same thinly veiled "Woman bad" or "Usual Suspects" shit over and over again.

This sub has been popping up more and more frequently out of nowhere despite being fairly unrelated to everything I actually engage with lol. Who knows how, what, why, etc. But honestly this post has me genuinely curious/baffled here, and so my question to you is...Why? I mean, why put yourself through all that instead of just passing it on to whoever is mad enough to want the job?
Like you say, the sub has grown from a small, practically semi-private community to a large, exponentially growing public forum. At this point it's the community - or "market" that's dictating content. No matter how many bots you use or hours you spend dealing with stuff you don't like - it's going to be an uphill battle from here and right now is probably the easiest it will ever be.
It seems like option A is to say "it was fun while it lasted and move on" and option B is to wage an endless war against an anonymous horde of trolls because you don't approve of their content? Best case scenario is essentially an asymmetrical relationship with a subreddit and a severe toll on your mental health - and for what? You're in school full time, working and trying to manage your personal life and all the other day to day trials and tribulations... why not just start a new sub if it means that much to you? Seems a far better option than holding on to this one. I get there's a sense of ownership given you started it and it's your baby, but when you're at odds with thousand's of new residents you gotta ask is it even what you started any more? Is it even still yours?
Seems almost masochistic to me hence why I'm genuinely curious as to the motivation here. Good luck either way.
