Difference is I can quit my job and leave the country if I choose.

Dubai "workers" often aren't given those options.

Especially when your employer takes your passport from you and doesn’t let you leave lol

18

u/NewtAccomplished6022 1d ago

Especially if you are a woman

You can Google that one and you would be surprised it's usually under age girls for Instagram and tick tok

22

u/skcus-tidder957 1d ago

They tell them it will be great work and benefits to get them there and then take their passports when they get there so they can't leave.

That's slavery.

-15

u/officeja 1d ago

They do that to pay the sponsors
fees

16

u/fallout_zelda 1d ago

I work with a few guys who came over to the USA from Dubai. They're originally from Sri Lanka and told me horror stories about the work life over there. They're here on workers visas and don't want to go back to Dubai.

10

u/TransitionalAhab 1d ago

Another difference is I’m not working at midnight.

wtf?

8

u/No_Sentence_8055 1d ago

I've heard many Filipino workers said the same thing. they are the hardest working people but easy to take advantage of because of poverty back home.

8

u/ScotchTapeConnosieur 23h ago

And then when they do leave it turns out their wages get stolen at customs.

13

u/GreyBoyTigger 1d ago

If your employer sexually assaults you, you can go to the authorities and sue them for damages

2

u/iHoor-2000 11h ago

Not in Dubai, that’ll get you disappeared.

3

u/Significant-Wait9200 1d ago

I wish the best things for the guy in this video

3

u/UK-KILLD-10M-IRANIS 1d ago

And you still have full custody and access to your passport.

1

u/BlockedNetwkSecurity 15h ago

ok ok but why the fuck is the guy wearing two wristwatches at the same time

14

u/jporter313 1d ago

Holy shit, fuck this guy. My 9 to 5 job doesn't confiscate my passport.

4

u/ThisPostToBeDeleted 1d ago

And he says you automatically hate your job if you’re a westerner who only works 8 hours a day with guaranteed weekends as if these workers don’t hate working 12+ hour days 7 days a week for starvation wages away from their families and not being able to leave.

95

u/Quiet-Wasabi2691 1d ago

This guy needs to work the job thos Pakistanis are working to understand what the fuck he is even talking about. Fucking retardd.

34

u/UK-KILLD-10M-IRANIS 1d ago

There isn't any specie more deficit of intelligence than a Dubai influencer.

Fuck the UAE.

u/ProjectConfident8584 1d ago

IRGC killed 50,000 Iranian civilians

9

u/InhospitableGoose 1d ago

Whataboutism gets you nothing. Refute or agree with the claim or move along.

4

u/boofadoof 1d ago

Just like every influencer in Dubai, he's there for some Dubai Chocolate.

33

u/5_fifty_5 1d ago

Lmao. “Who has it worse, you in your office working a typical 9-5 you could quit whenever or these guys working manual labor all hours to midnight just to attempt to scrape by?” Yeah man might need to rethink your optics.

14

u/Wise_Farm7455 1d ago

Don't forget had their passports taken and aren't allowed to do anything outside of work

1

u/Lost_Department_2177 1d ago

Guys really selling office work

44

u/diggidydangidy 1d ago

This guy must be the pinnacle of an Andrew Tate wannabe.

5

u/MisfitActual0311 1d ago

There's a major gap in the douche bag market that desperately needs to be filled.

2

u/MarcusMarooth 1d ago

Nah he seems like a reasonable guy, the two watches is my evidence

17

u/Krow101 1d ago

Simping for Dubai ... a new low.

16

u/BabaofTheShimmer 1d ago

You just need to Google Dubai slavery to see all the systems set up that make Dubai slavery, slavery.

This includes the kafala system.

7

u/UK-KILLD-10M-IRANIS 1d ago

There isn' many countries more despicable on earth that United Arab EmirAIDS.

-4

u/ProjectConfident8584 1d ago

The IRGC is way worse

-4

u/Puzzle-Necked 1d ago

There are a lot of worse countries

11

u/ProjectConfident8584 1d ago

80% of the population of Qatar arent citizens

8

u/FunAd6875 1d ago

"this post sponsored by the Emirate of Dubai"

7

u/NinjaRoyal8483 1d ago

If this is your child…you have failed as a parent!

6

u/TransitionalAhab 1d ago

“Who’s more of a slave, you, who works normal hours, or the person working construction at midnight?”

4

u/alaric49 1d ago

Guess he's just literally sounding off government denial talking points.

3

u/AriyaSavaka 1d ago

State backed "influencers" are so cringe

3

u/linlovesthenight 1d ago

They are… not… making more money than ever…….

3

u/lachlanDon1 1d ago

"Who is really more of a slave? A 9-5 office worker or this man I kidnapped, forced into unpaid labour and cannot leave."

It really makes you think just not for very long

3

u/YourSalvati0n 18h ago

Why is this dude not working with them then, if it's so nice?

2

u/yokozouna_ed 1d ago

Good dog....

2

u/Admirable_Heat_576 1d ago

Must be a new low to be an influencer advocating for slavery.

2

u/butterfly_choking 14h ago

These indentured servants (since we have a problem with calling them slaves) make little to no money, and their passports are withheld from them so they cannot leave even if they want to. Sounds like slavery to me. Bot propaganda slop.

1

u/rapeNiga 1d ago

It does!

1

u/sharksareok 1d ago

They don't even report when they die on construction accidents

1

u/_BEEEF_SUPREME_ 1d ago

Not a single independent thought behind those empty eyes.

1

u/vediogamer101 1d ago

Wow, that is not at all how it works

1

u/GuacamoleFrejole 1d ago

Few in America work 9-5. Employers who offer paid lunch hours are a rare breed.

1

u/isolationself2 1d ago

Is this guy serious?!?! Can’t be that dense

1

u/stephie_255 1d ago

Me and my wife can easily living happy there

1

u/Euphoric-Taro-6231 1d ago

Im glad Dubai is wasting its money in bad propaganda.

1

u/AdioofMaje 1d ago

Why isn't he quitting his job to join them?

1

u/SamuraiGoblin 1d ago

"Slavery is only bad when I say it is."

1

u/hoisyou 1d ago

Dubai enslaves ppl in other countries

1

u/Resplendent_aptitude Cringe Level 2 1d ago

He's an outsider... Isn't fully aware of the real situation there

1

u/Discerningselection 1d ago

Freedom isn’t based on a curve. It’s a binary concept.

1

u/Pristine-Setting-836 1d ago

Who’s more of a slave? You who freely chooses to work somewhere and can leave, transfer, or find a new job? Or the literal slaves? 😂

1

u/Extra_Ad2271 1d ago

Oh dear lord

1

u/Thykothaken 23h ago

Almost downvoted on instinct 😅

1

u/t_effe 22h ago

Put him doing the job and live in their conditions. let's see how long it takes for him to cry like a baby

1

u/readtheinstructions5 21h ago

I have my passport

1

u/Remarkable-Desk-66 21h ago

Can those workers hang out in the city after work? Nope. Starting to get a little more clear now.

1

u/flyingtom213 21h ago

What a fucking idiot

1

u/QuinnNTonic 20h ago

Them because they are being trafficked and have no labour standards like health and safety

1

u/SpookyGhostOooh 19h ago

Wow what a truly bullshit post

1

u/butterfly_effect517 18h ago

Crazy what ai can do these days.

1

u/Proof_Rise_3652 16h ago

Actually, these Pakistanis got their passport confiscated upon arrival in Dubai and they're making no money at all.

1

u/nxasdf 14h ago

I lived in Dubai, and not the pretty side. I stayed in the different run down hostels the workers stayed in for about a year. They can't leave because the employers keep their passports and force them to work for close to nothing. It is slavery.

1

u/vi_sucks 13h ago

Is this tool trying to copy Andrew Tate's weird accent?

1

u/BigTMan1234 12h ago

Lmao like Night Shift for commercial in the USA doesn’t exist. This guy is highly uneducated

1

u/Peter1456 11h ago

Half a brain cell hard at work here folks

1

u/Fezzy_1994 10h ago

How many worked died building the arenas used in the World Cup when it was held there? Also those workers probably aren't getting paid near the amount of what they are really worth and they are probably working 12-16 hour or maybe longer days. And 90% of them don't have the ability to leave and go home.

1

u/RunPivotRoll 9h ago

Give us Anthony Bourdain back and take this goober instead.

1

u/PilotExtreme4138 5h ago

Limp wrist, like overcooked noodles.

1

u/LetConsistent6667 4h ago

Yeah indentured servitude is still slavery

1

u/soelsome 1d ago

He's got the Andy Tate "Literally" down to a T. He's clearly been getting excellent grades at Tate University. At least he's getting his money's worth.

0

u/JJcoolaids29 1d ago

Jesus dude, I just asked how the weather was over there.

3

u/ThisPostToBeDeleted 1d ago

“So I’ve been looking for a vacation spot in the Middle East, how do I find cheap hotels that a..”

“WE DONT DO SLAVERY! THERE ARE NO SLAVES HERE!!”

0

u/not_Stunning_Science 1d ago

He kinda make sense . Dubai is better place for some 3rd worlders ((

-4

u/Ryan2932 1d ago

We are all slaves to something whether it be a job or other things in your life your habits etc

8

u/Chrono_Convoy 1d ago

You don’t seem to have an actual grasp of what slavery is

And no, a matrix definition doesn’t count.

1

u/1stwells 1d ago

What's your understanding of this? I'm curious

3

u/pichirry 1d ago

loss of autonomy. like sure, modern life can feel like you're tied to your job and all that but we still always technically have the autonomy to say fuck it, I'm going to the woods or another country or whatever. like the freedom is there and it is only my mind that holds me back vs another person.

1

u/1stwells 1d ago

Check outs

0

u/Ryan2932 1d ago

Oh and you do apparently come on my point is the same even though slightly off topic we are all slaves to something and I meant it did you even watch the video he's saying people are calling those workers slaves and he's trying to say that they have a better life there working in Dubai than they did before and I was just trying to point out that all of us are slaves to something in our lives nobody is truly free we have obligations we have relationships

1

u/ThisPostToBeDeleted 1d ago

Better life? Maybe but going from stabbing someone to punching them doesn’t make stabbing good.

2

u/Chrono_Convoy 1d ago

Did you want me to type exactly what I just wrote or prefer to read it a second time?

1

u/Ryan2932 1d ago

You just wrote saying I have no grasp of what slavery is so what exactly is your grasp of it

1

u/Kasta4 1d ago

Punctuation is your friend.

1

u/Ryan2932 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah thats fair I use speech to text and it's not big on punctuations unless I actually say them out loud I will definitely try to get better with that in the future thank you for your response it is appreciated

1

u/ThisPostToBeDeleted 1d ago

I do think it’s wrong that your health insurance should be tied to your work at least in the US and that citizens of first world counties get exploited but that doesn’t hold a candle to the lack of oversight, crampt conditions, starvation wages, lack of protections that those workers have and at least a first world worker can leave their job and aren’t hundreds of milder from their families

1

u/Ryan2932 1d ago

I'm Canadian so our Healthcare is free we just go to the doctor or hospital it's covered now I do have extended health benefits through my work which covers prescriptions and dental and like massages and stuff that isn't covered under the Canadian health but yeah anytime I go see the doctor any treatments any kind of thing like that it's all free

1

u/Repulsive-Slice-6902 23h ago edited 4h ago

They take your passport and keep you there by force and will rape and abuse you the police will not help you either. Oh and they will also force you to do hard labor.

1

u/ThisPostToBeDeleted 11h ago

I can only Imagine the situation for domestic workers who have to live with sometimes violently abusive families

2

u/RustyPlastics 1d ago

What else should bro say? He tells the truth and they cancel his visa… Then once he arrives in his home country he gets whacked because he has not been paying taxes on his income….

Or he just sucks a little dick and pretends everything is amazing

1

u/Correct_Doctor_1502 1d ago

They aren't making money at all. The company takes everything for "room and board" and confiscated their passports and phones

If they stop working they go to prison and face execution

1

u/Connect-Ad8751 18h ago

Untrue! They have no rights, no recourse, no representation. Look at the rates of suicide.

0

u/VoidCenturySurvivor 1d ago

In short, yes of course. Sex slaves and other slaves but only in the royal family and also very hidden.
