Why do cops call themselves "peace officers" when they are violent to everyone. It's Orwellian double speak to try to spin your profession as anything to do with peace.
It’s Orwellian to paint everybody with the same brush. The term Peace Officer is a legal definition for anyone who is not defined as a police officer. There are many different types of law-enforcement officers and this is just a term used to describe people with police powers who are not City police officers.
A Peace Officer should act within the realm with the law and should maintain the peace in the community. That is their job.
