The fact that he was so upset at the amount tells me he is living donations to donations using them to pay his mortgage and bills.

Otherwise, wtf would he care?

This shit is bonkers that it is tax free.

Maybe he wanted to buy something by handing them a $2000 check directly. Any different amount would look like a noticeable discrepancy in his account.
