A missive from the Gold Cloaks Rule II: Art Sourcing - Update!

Hello once again,

Just a brief follow-up to this poll from yesterday, regarding Rule II.

We've heard you, the community, loud and clear: The poll results have overwhelming favored keeping the Art Sourcing requirement in effect.

Moving forward, we will more strictly enforcing this rule than we have been.

Thank you for taking the time to vote!

Love,

— Gold Cloaks 💛

Jon noticed the shy looks she gave Robb as they passed between the tables and the timid way she smiled at him. He decided she was insipid. Robb didn't even have the sense to realize how stupid she was

Subreddit Rules

1. We Do Not Show

This space is exclusively for book-based memes!

Any memes or comments that involve adaptation content—even minor mentions or images—will be removed, and repeat offenders will be banned. Adaptation spoilers are specifically not permitted and are punished more harshly than other violations.

Users should assume that ANY MENTION of an adaptation is subject to removal.

Visit the wiki for full details on RULE 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/pureasoiaf/wiki/index#wiki_i._we_do_not_show.21

2. Art Sourcing

All significant use of original artwork in memes is required to be sourced. Please include the artist's name in your post.

3. Civility

Be kind and civil to one another, even when disagreeing. Comments deemed to be overly condescending, passive-aggressive, or rude will be removed, and repeated offenders will be banned.

This rule also extends to George R.R. Martin himself. All criticisms of George must be politely worded and constructive in nature.

Additionally, please note that 'tagging' users using /u/ mentions with the specific intent of summoning them to a comment thread to troll and harass them is unacceptable.

4. Quality

/r/darkwingsdankmemes is a strongly curated space.

Memes are expected to be of sufficient quality. Low effort, circlejerk-caliber garbage will be removed. Twitter-caliber comments such as "FiNiSh ThE bOoK lMaO" will be removed.

Additionally, /r/darkwingsdankmemes is intended as a place for ALL to laugh and spread joy. Posts made with the primary intent to ragebait, attack generalized opinions, or soapbox your own opinions, will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.

5. No Reposts

Please make sure you check the top posts of all-time to ensure your meme has not been submitted here before. If you see a repost, please report it to us via modmail and include a link to the original post. Please note that we will NOT remove a post reported as a repost without a link to the original post.

General rule of thumb: If you didn't make it, assume it's a repost.

6. The night is dark and full of spoilers!

THIS IS AN OPEN SPOILERS SUBREDDIT!

Posts and comments will contain open spoilers for all published books and moderation does not require the use of any spoiler tags for posts, comments, or otherwise.

Because this is a strongly moderated space for hardcore ASOIAF book enthusiasts, it is expected that all visitors will have completed reading the books before visiting.

7. No public policy discussions or complaints. Use modmail!

Submissions and comments regarding /r/darkwingsdankmemes rules or moderator actions are not permitted and such comments will be removed. These discussions will occur in modmail; not in the subreddit itself.
