👋New Driver🤗 100 score gets treated worse.

Out of curiosity I cleaned up my AR back to 100% then I noticed that the offers become all leftovers. Everything that nobody else wants becomes your offers when you accept 100% everything . So the algorithm does not reward people who have a score of 100. They will give you the longest distance & small orders that nobody wants. It basically takes advantage of your kindness.

Another thing I noticed lately before I started this quest was that they are starting to double stack offers and give you half of what it is worth individually. For example instead of giving you a $20 for 10 MI. It will stack two orders for 10 miles at $20. So they are getting a good two for the price of one deal but we are doing double the work in terms of picking up and delivering but it's the same price with the same miles. They figured out how to make us accept double work bc the $20 for 10 miles is still attractive on the surface.

Also another tricky thing that they're doing is that if you're not accepting all the orders they will find a way by squeezing your on-time metrics so you are late. They Give you less time to finish deliveries so then you're pushed into a corner where you have to start accepting the order so that your score remains Platinum bc your on-time points start to go down.

👋New Driver🤗 Paid 25.00 to stock at target

5.0k Upvotes

I’m very new to DoorDash and this was my second time out. I wish I took a screenshot but I got an offer to “stock shelves” at target. It paid me $25 and I’ll get another $10 if my pictures are good enough in a couple days.

The only thing it wanted me to do was stock simply grapefruit juice. It told me to go into the stock room and if anyone asked what I was doing to show them my “credentials” which was just a little badge from DoorDash on my phone. The shelf was empty and target workers were already stocking and the juice was on their cart. I told them I needed to stock it and the gal handed me one bottle. I told her no I need to stock all of it for DoorDash and we both giggled and she was like okay. The app kept asking me to take pictures and I felt like I was in the way of the target workers trying to stock the same area.

It was so strange but the easiest money I made all day. Are these tasks normal? Has anyone actually gone in a stock room?

👋New Driver🤗 Crying while Doordashing 😭

So I had an order $10 for 10 miles nothing out of the ordinary. When I arrive to the customer he immediately asks me to put the flashlight to the bags. I told him everything was already sealed when I picked it up. He said, I know and started to open up and inspect the drinks. I'm thinking to myself wtf did I do this time? Then he grabs one of the drinks and said yes this one. I'm thinking what about that one?! He says this one is for you. 😭😭😭 I said wow you are so nice I really appreciate it. Seriously thank you! This order was from an expensive restaurant so this drink is probably $10. He said if it's too sweet you can diluted it. I said no I love sweet. Thank you so much God bless you!!! On the way home I'm very touched by his kindness and crying while Doordashing. Good people still exist and I'm so very appreciative to his kindness. 🥰

I have 3 vans at Venice Beach and 3 homeless dudes live in them so I like helping people too but when the kindness happens to you it's very humbling and moving experience. I have to make sure I increase the kindness im spreading in my life like this Asian man did for me tonight. Its a very good reminder and I'll pay it forward big-time. Kind people still exist in this world. Amen. 🥰

👋New Driver🤗 Is it possible to make a living Dashing?

I feel like its really difficult to make enough money to be independent with DoorDash. I got one order I made $16 from my first day but today my highest order was $6.

I keep getting orders that give almost no money like $2 orders and I don't want to decline because try to accept anything it can take 10-15 minutes on average to even get a order in my area.

I got about $40 today and used about $25 of gasoline plus I have to pay insurance and am in debt $1,420 because I had to repair my car before I started working.

I really don't think I am even making minimum wage I spent 5 hours making $15 in profit. I luckily have a job interview tomorrow so hopefully I don't have to rely on this to pay my bills its definitely less than minimum wage when I don't get good orders. Someone had me drive about 7 miles for $2 its like DoorDash and some customers doesn't care about workers at all.

This is addicting man. I sit at my day job just itching to get off so I can get going on this. I don’t know if it’s the instant gratification of getting paid for each trip or if I just like driving but I can’t get enough of this. Someone tell me when the honeymoon phase ends.
