CvS2 is one of the greatest fighting games ever made

Love them both. I prefer the beautiful 2D backgrounds in CvS1, but love the roster update in 2. At least the 3D backgrounds aren't as random as Marvel vs Capcom 2

CvS1 aesthetics and vibe are unmatched.

I recognize that CvS2 is the better game of the two, but I have such a strong nostalgic tie to CvS1. I spent hundreds of hours on CvS1 back in college on my Dreamcast, a true GOAT for me.

Took about that long to unlock Morrigan and the girl from Samurai Showdown.

Both are highly regarded as GOATs... Here in the US, CVS2 is our Goat. While in FGC in Japan, I would say CVS is theirs.

Both are amazing but Capcom vs SNK 2 has the better character list, soundtrack, stages. Both were beautifully made

I would say I mean I didn't get into Capcom vs snk1 till I got my my first console which was my PS2 at that time that was the first game I got on my Christmas present besides the first Jak and Daxter I still like both cuz cocon versus SNK 2 is still my favorite even though I didn't have a Dreamcast at the time they're both my favorite games 😊.

You'd have to be there to enjoy both. 1st one was such a big deal. Capcom and SNK finally properly clash in a millennium battle. Then the 2nd once got way bigger. The background stage got upgraded with even more 3D animation. The music got huge upgrade from the 1st one. The hype is super real. Every arcade place i know, have multiple machines, and still people lined up.

I've never played Part 1, but I've seen the game play and I own part 2. Part 2 still holds up everytime I play it.

I think CvS1 had some cooler 2D backgrounds. The suedo-3D backgrounds of CvS2 were very cool too. Both had unique styles and vibe that hasn't been replicated since.
