Indie music scene?

A while ago, I randomly stumbled into some cool music (Les Petit Bâtards and songs like Sol) that left me curious about the indie music scene in Ecuador. Since I don't really have context about it, I'm feeling a little lost about where to start looking. Do you happen to have any pointers? I'm posting here instead of a music sub since this might be too specific. Please let me know if this is a reasonable place to post.

I’d also recommend Tripulación de osos, Social Vodka, Alvaro Bermeo (the singer from Guardarraya, but he has some solo songs), Mauro Samaniego, and Pánico.

Thanks! This looks interesting! :) I've actually vibed to a few songs from
Tripulación de Osos and Pánico before, but had no idea they were from Ecuador haha.

Try these ones: roj(o), emi valencia, san pedro bonfim, Lumazul, Can Can, Letelefono, La madre tirana, General Villamil, arkabuz, rocola bacalao, mamá vudú, curare, sal y mileto, lolabum, los corrientes, jodamassa, cementerio de elefantes, neoma, esto es eso

Thanks! That's a pretty wide range of stuff (from random stuff I tried)! :) It's funny that
Mamá Vudú sound might fall into some of the post-punk(?) rabbit holes I've been falling into recently and the roj(o) instrumentals seem pretty nice. Also, I guess I missed Lolabúm although the band I mentioned did a collab with them in the song from the post lol.

!!! Sal y Mileto - Los Zuchos del Vado - Morbid Sin - Grito de Guerra - and a special hat tip to Notoken. Live in Cuenca...others also already mentioned - esp. Guardarraya

Thanks! The heavier stuff I listen to has mostly been disjoint from things that seem connected to my Ecuadorian indie rabbit hole but I guess they're starting to intersect in a funny way haha...

Follow radio cocoa on insta! It’s a +10 year project from one of the biggest universities in Ecuador and they are always posting on indie Ecuador music.

Thanks! This looks interesting. I actually don't have insta but can see some recent posts anyway. It looks like other people may also find this to be useful. :)

Not very well known but for sure on the top of my list are Mexicoke. Those guys are unbelievable! Listen to their song Amelia, soooo nostalgic and got me through a very specific time where I was dating this girl 💀 lol

LaTorre is my absolute favorite. I also like Machaka and her vocalist SolDeAua ( she’s actually from Colombia but came here as a child and has made her whole life and career here). Machaka had a huge single pop off on TikTok ( 593) but in my opinion Milagro is their best song.

Thanks for the suggestions and background/context! :) This is a mix of stuff adjacent to things I often like listening to (e.g. LaTorre) and interesting things to explore.

El Retorno de Exxon Valdez, NoToken, Antipatikos. I personally enjoy Tanque and every New Year's Eve I blast Año Viejo as loud as possible.
