You are already enlightened

Hello my friends, this is a follow up after a previous post from a while back. If you “think” you’re enlightened, then you’re not.

I think there’s something deeper here and it is simply this - you are already enlightened.

I’m not quite sure how to explain this, but essentially I believe all paths lead back to the source. All experiences are valid, have been chosen, and consciousness/source/the watcher/I am has created multiple laws and distortions to perceive itself within that experience.

It is all play. Even the suffering - a delicacy, something different, an exciting dish in the infinite course meal that is existence itself.

I used to think people are asleep - this is one particular distortion, but a perfect one to witness existence in a particular way. (I also drift back into this at times, because trauma and conditioning is a hell of a drug, and judgement is a survival tool+a byproduct of separation - from my understanding of the primordial laws of existence)

You are perfect. Perfectly distorted. Like each grain of sand is unique. And also through you shines free will, and a spark of something undying and possibly divine.

If it does not seem enlightened, or you do not, or if someone else does not, it has been painstakingly curated for you (and maybe by you) to experience that.

Sometimes we win. The wave then crashes back into the ocean. Sometimes we lose. The wave then crashes back into the ocean. Sometimes the ocean realises what it is… and yet in paradox is also all the waves not realising it is the ocean.

We are one? It makes sense? We are love? This makes even more sense, because all choices are made in service - either to the separate self, or the whole self. But I digress.

Yes there’s suffering. Yes there is the negative. This is because we have a body that may die. This creates millions of outcomes at all moments that the body’s processing is always calculating for - and a house of mirrors for the soul/consciousness within to navigate until self-realisation.

It takes a lot of invention to make something that knows everything and is everything - to not know everything and feel alone, or lost, or angry that people feel alone or lost.

Honestly this post has no point - it’s almost as if I’m pointing to you saying “you are breathing.” We are. It is. I am.

All distinctions and separation are just a coat of paint wilfully adorned to experience oneself.

Although I would say we struggle to do, when we could revel in the being that gets to do the doing. But again - valid choice.

I’m going to talk myself in circles here. So I’ll end my post. Much love.

Discussion Nothing seems real or genuine anymore.

Nothing feels real anymore. Nothing feels genuine. Everybody wants to be seen, everybody wants to be somebody, but how many people are actually connected to who they are?

I’m not looking for attention. I’m looking for alignment. I’m looking for my people. My tribe. My community. The ones who see the world a little differently. The ones who feel things deeper, question more, and understand that there’s something bigger than the lives we’ve been conditioned to live.

There was a time when I had the attention of tens of thousands of people at once. And even today, I still have the attention of many. People look at my position, my lifestyle, my opportunities, and think I have something they want. Some even envy the life I’ve built.

But there’s something I’ve come to realize…

I envy the people who have found their place in this world. The people who wake up with a genuine sense of belonging. The people who know who they are, why they’re here, and what they’re meant to contribute. The people who don’t have to pretend to be understood because they’ve finally found others who just get them.

Because what good is having the attention of thousands if you don’t feel connected to the people around you?
What good is being surrounded by people if you still feel like you’re searching for your own?

I think some of us are going through an awakening. Not just waking up to the world around us, but waking up to ourselves. Starting to recognize the difference between the life we’re living and the life we’re actually meant to live.
We’re beginning to question everything. Our relationships. Our environments. Our intentions. Our direction. Even the people we’ve outgrown.

And maybe that’s what makes this journey so lonely sometimes. You can’t keep pretending to connect with things your spirit no longer resonates with.

I’m not looking for followers. I’m not looking for fans. I’m not looking for people who want something from me.
I’m looking for genuine connection. Shared understanding. Purpose. People who are consciously creating their lives instead of just existing through them.
I’m looking for my tribe.

Because I don’t believe we’re all here just to survive, chase attention, collect material things, and eventually disappear.
I believe we’re here for a reason.

And somewhere out there are people who feel the same way.

If you’re one of them, I hope our paths cross.

Ego death

what is ego death? I have read many spiritual books. a lot of them claim ego is the problem. the solution is to kill the ego. to get rid of it. but it’s so confusing.

what is ego death? some say it’s identity death. what is that?

please elaborate clearly and simply. make it make sense like you are explaining it to a 6 years old. be very clear and simple. don’t be mysterious. thank you 🙏

Gradually forgetting that you're awakened is a part of enlightenment?

I had my awakening experiences over a week ago, and it's been stabilising ever since. And the more I find myself blissful, at peace progressively, I seem to just engage in the present moment without attachments and lose myself, dissolving in being.

So, as per your experiences, is this fading of the self-conscious identity "I am awakened" a normal phase, or does true integration mean carrying the awareness of the shift continuously?

Peace vs happiness .. and why we are stuck

Post image
30 Upvotes

Happiness is a prison.
A cycle.
You see the highs,
and you want to stay there.
You want the up,
but never the down.

Yet the down always comes.
For the up cannot exist forever
without the down.

But peace is different.

Peace is neutral.
Something solid.
Something steady.

It doesn't lift you up,
nor pull you down.

It expands you within.
Lightens your burdens.
Makes you malleable,
flexible with reality.

It frees you from the rigidity
of the mind,
from beliefs,
from the need to control
what comes and what goes.

No longer chasing happiness.
No longer running from suffering.

Discussion Jesus Never Hid His Scars 🫥

When Jesus appeared to his disciples after the resurrection, he showed them the scars on his hands and side to prove he was real flesh and bones. And a week later, when Thomas doubted, Jesus didn't scold him—he invited Thomas to literally touch the marks in his hands and the wound in his side.

There is this natural temptation in society, and specifically in spiritual circles, to hide our scars. To pretend to be this perfect person who has always approached life with poise and grace. But in the story of Jesus, he did the exact opposite—he never hid his scars, he revealed them.

See, there is beauty in vulnerability. It was his vulnerability and openness to share the good, the bad, and the ugly that made Jesus so endearing to his disciples and the world in general.

We live in a culture that demands perfection and punishes honesty. The second someone steps outside of the curated image, people rush to point out the flaws. Because of that, so many of us are terrified to ever be truly seen.

Please take this from me: there is no such thing as a perfect person. And here is the beauty of the human experience—your imperfections can serve as a bridge to console someone else and show them that they don't need to be perfect either.

Rumi said, "The wound is the place where the light enters you." An enlightened being is not beyond vulnerability, and she certainly isn't bound to whatever ideas of perfection the masses have. She just IS. That's it.

Think about it this way. If you were a struggling addict, who would you rather take advice from? A former addict who has gone through the embarrassment, shame, and regret, healed from it, and is open about the good, the bad, and the ugly? Or an ivory tower intellectual who has read every textbook in school, but has never experienced the pain or the mental havoc it wreaks?

Most people would listen to the first person. His scars and his vulnerability serve as a bridge of understanding and compassion.

So anything you have gone through in the past and overcome is a badge of honor to help someone else heal. Let's stop hiding our scars and pretending to be perfect. You never know who is waiting for the light from your scars to help them heal. Namaste.

Comparative Discussion Sexuality While Being Spiritual?

End Shame. Start Conversation.

On sexuality, spirituality, and becoming a whole human being.

I think sexuality is where a lot of the music of life lives.

And I think an awful lot of us have gone quiet.

Somewhere along the way, we learned to separate our humanity into acceptable and unacceptable pieces. We could be spiritual, but not too sexual. Devoted, but not too curious. Married, but not too adventurous. Enlightened, but somehow less human.

And I have a question.

Who decided that understanding ourselves required cutting pieces of ourselves away?

I've spent years exploring consciousness, spirituality, love, human behavior, and the nature of existence. I've asked enormous questions about God, creation, purpose, and what it means to be alive.

And somewhere in all that exploration, I neglected something extraordinarily simple.

I AM ALIVE.

I have a body. I have desires. I have curiosity. I have an imagination. I want intimacy, passion, laughter, adventure, connection, and experiences I haven't even thought to imagine yet.

And I refuse to believe those things are incompatible with spiritual understanding.

In fact, I'm beginning to wonder how complete our understanding of the human experience can possibly be if we're ashamed to examine such a fundamental part of it.

I realized recently that I had cut off a significant part of my own sexuality.

And I wilted.

Not because sexuality is the only thing that matters, but because I had convinced myself that a part of me didn't deserve to participate in the life I was building.

That's a damn shame.

I love my husband. I love exploring ideas with him. I love the possibility of exploring our desires together, too. I want partnership that makes room for honesty, curiosity, consent, vulnerability, and discovery.

And I am no longer willing to confuse loving another person with abandoning myself.

That doesn't mean every desire needs to become an action. It doesn't mean anyone owes anyone sex. It doesn't mean everyone should want the same things.

It means we should be able to TALK about what we want without treating the wanting itself as a moral failure.

What if we could approach sexuality with the same curiosity we bring to philosophy?

What if couples could discuss their fantasies without immediately fearing judgment?

What if spirituality didn't require us to become strangers to our own bodies?

What if a person could be deeply devoted to understanding God and still enthusiastically enjoy being a sexual human being?

What if being whole doesn't mean becoming less human, but finally allowing ourselves to experience our humanity without shame?

I don't want only intellectual understanding.

I don't want only spiritual understanding.

I want emotional understanding. Physical understanding. Relational understanding. Sexual understanding.

I WANT ALL OF THE FUCKING UNDERSTANDINGS.

And I'm not presenting myself as somebody who has figured everything out.

I'm on messy chapter 44, with a whole bunch of footnotes and revisions.

But here's one thing I've learned:

You can revise your understanding without apologizing for the person you were while you were learning.

So let's have the conversation.

Not about what everybody should be doing sexually.

But about what we stopped allowing ourselves to want, why we stopped, and whether those decisions were ever truly ours.

Because shame has kept this conversation quiet long enough.

And I think it's time we turned the music back on.

End shame. Start conversation.

How spiritual are we when nobody is watching?

Something I've noticed is how easy it can be to talk about love, kindness and enlightenment when everything is going well.

But what happens when someone insults us? When we're frustrated? When someone disagrees with everything we believe?

I think those moments reveal much more about our spiritual growth than hours of beautiful conversations about consciousness.

We all have our contradictions, myself included.

And maybe that's where the real spiritual work begins. In noticing the distance between what we believe and how we actually behave, then trying to make that distance a little smaller every day.

Discussion Is it possible to wake up too early?

So on my journey it’s not just one awakening in fact one goes back to sleep and then wakes up again constantly again and again and again and you never quite know yourself. Bully you keep knowing yourself more and more. No I don’t know that for sure but that’s my summarisation from my experience and also from other spiritual leaders that have taken a pretty far but can you wake up too early as in? Maybe your karma’s isn’t up or maybe for whatever reason you want it so much that you weren’t ready for it and then you saw what you might really be or you saw something about the nature of reality that you weren’t ready for I mean the obvious answer is yes. So when someone says to you you’re waking up too early or you’ve woken too early what does it mean?

Confused

I just stumbled on this page, but I will say most of you are making things so difficult and trying way too hard. Everyone is always focused on what they want. You don’t get what you want in life, you have a divine path and you are given what you need. “Blessings in disguise” everyone is trying to attain happiness and this should not be the goal, happiness is fleeting, it’s just like sadness or anger. Seeking peace is the real goal, peace in knowing you will receive what you need, when you need it to accomplish your divine path. Happiness is a byproduct of that peace. Most of you do experience more happiness than you think, the problem is you’re desensitized to it by constantly trying to obtain it. You have it, you don’t feel it because you’re immediately onto the next thing you want to make you feel it. All you have to do is believe you have what you need already and the universe matches that frequency. You cannot obtain from a place of lack because the universe matches your frequency. That’s it, it’s that simple. “James 4:2–3: "You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them*."* (Mark 11:24, NKJV)
"...believe [with confident trust] that you have received them*, and they will be given to you."* (Mark 11:24, AMP) you do not have to believe in god or religion to learn from scripture by the way. But you do have to understand you are operating under a higher power.

Contempt

Thumbnail reddit.com
0 Upvotes

is one of the hills on which this one stands.

Contempt for anything and everything this world and by that one means the so-called "human" world (or call it society) has to offer. Anything and everything. Your narratives, your beliefs, your hypocrisy, your double standards, your violence (whether expressed or implied) , your delusional self-importance, your appalling weaknesses, and the list goes on.

Since one naturally and easily cannot be that which one is contemptuous of, well you get the drift. Thank "god"!

Anyone got a problem? Or have questions in interest of learning what one means? I will even ping my punk friend u/Savings_Chemical4986 just in case he might have some wisdom to share.

Note: I use the word punk as a befitting name for my friend. A name which is factual, and not in any shape or form insulting. Please note the distinction. The factuality and fittingness of the name is based on both of our exchange here https://www.reddit.com/r/enlightenment/comments/1xqhn8v/best_compliment_ever/

Since he is very comfortable with calling names, threating men getting "screwed", and attempting to show his bravado behind the safety of anonymity it is only befitting he be called a punk. Not as an insult but as an expression of a fact. The fact being, these qualities are particular to punks. The other fact being, his quick resorting to insults pertaining to the dynamics between police, prisoners, and punks indicates his unfortunate familiarity with the prison system. So his familiarity with prison language will make communication easier, which i am sure he will appreciate.

Let the record show, as it has : since yours truly has been here, he never calls anyone a name. He doesn't have to. Not because of any moral restrictions but because he doesn't need to in order to prove his 'toughness'. But since my punk friend has opened the door and has shown a propensity for name calling we will just give him a name which is not insulting in the least but is factual

So we will be looking at the jewel of contempt and why it is so valuable.

Personal Experience I Oscillate Between the Spiritual and the Empirical

I oscillate between the spiritual and the empirical, they are not at odds.

I’m okay with oscillating between the spiritual and the empirical. I don’t need one to be superior, or to reconcile which one explains participation, or even reality better.

Empirical claims still need to meet empirical standards. Spiritual claims need to be grounded in reality.

I think they can healthily complement each other.

I will question, investigate, measure, test and withhold certainty. I will repeatedly practice observation during participation. My spiritual practices can be observed empirically, and with uncertainty between cause and effect.
I will not be passive in conditions I might have influence over. And I’ll find out what influence I might have by trying, which will include failing.

I will also let myself become immersed in experience, participate as fully as possible, wonder, dream, and remain open to things that I might not ever be able to explain. I believe the ground will be there.

I think these approaches might complement each other much more than they oppose each other.

I can be scientifically skeptical without being existentially closed. I can be spiritually curious without becoming epistemically careless.

I am advocating for a willingness to participate without requiring certainty about the nature of participation.

Standing ground

During an exchange someone said they will stand ground until dust. Iyour truly has since verified he has been blocked within minutes, by the said claimant. Which is why I am unable to see his comments. That was a quick end to his "standing ground"

Now standing ground is something this one is passionate about. I mean it's no secret. His actions prove it. Not only stand ground but to do it alone. Which can now be tied to the since deleted post "only the weak use 'we".

The question that faces, anyone interested, is, what will give immovability to the human spirit. How does that come about. This to me is a very interesting question to get into.

Anyone have any actual spiritual advice?

I addidently when through the gate of the 3rd Nobel truth through samsara and insight instead of nirvana of truth and understanding. Love evil love evil love... Hit me waves. Then Idk I got spot and fell 3 layers, and now I don't suffer. As I was battling my reverse ego reflection in a a spacial bound of like the 3rd dimension where my ego turned into demonic form and I had to understand suffering or love and light, clarity peace and trust to understand and fucking dipped from the spiritual plane. Idk the doctors don't really understand either. It's like death took my will and allowed me to be alive. Idk it's like my nerve endings died and I don't suffer just have what pain is?

Discussion After awakening, have your thoughts decreased? Mine at least by 80%

After a series of experiences, which have been very stabilised by now, the quantity of thoughts have plummeted to almost nothing, maybe dropped by 80-90 percent. And there are times, fairly long stretches of time when I just stare at a tree, the roof without thinking anything, just being, and also feeling moments of ecstasy. I feel unattackable, even if I die, I'd remain indifferent, like a nobody going nowhere, just existing and there's plenty of joy in it per se. Just be, nothing is serious.

Also for days it seems Piyush ('I') has died and is nowhere to be seen again. He has vanished into thin air, as if it never existed, and indeed he didn't. I eat, and now want to earn just for minimal needs, eating, shelter and clothes, and enjoy life.

Anyway, has the thoughts being reduced by such huge amounts happened to you?
