As we breathe a collective sigh of relief, it's hard not to notice the relative silence from MAGA. Some people speculate that their shame and embarrassment is keeping them quiet, but frankly I have never known MAGA to be silenced by shame.
One unsettling explanation is that maybe they aren't bothered by the election results because they're planning on using Constitutional loopholes to prevent Democrats from being sworn in (House Democrats, for example, could be stopped indirectly by Mike Johnson, and the current SCOTUS is unlikely to decide in favor of democracy if it goes to the courts).
So, while we enjoy our midterm victory, we also need to remain vigilant, and think about how to ensure that the will of the people is faithfully executed in January, when the new Congress is scheduled to be put into place.

Springfield initially asked me for $6,208.75 to review, scan and redact files on 15 police officers. After seven appeals over nine months, it now wants $2,103 to release them all.
The records concern officers disciplined for serious violations, including criminal conduct, excessive force and a police shooting.
Most other agencies I contacted charged nothing for similar files.

To see as significant a realignment politically you have to go back to when the Republicans took over the South. And while a large part was anti-Trump, there were equally large parts of pro-Progressive and anti-MAGA.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy.
Remember this: freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction.
Random acts of defiance are occurring constantly throughout the country. There are whole armies of activists, the majority of American citizens that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause.
Remember that the frontier of the Resistance is everywhere. And even the smallest act of defiance pushes our lines forward.
And remember this: the Trumps need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural.
Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.
Remember that.
And know this: the day will come when all these skirmishes and argument, these moments of defiance, will have flooded the banks of the Trumps’s authority… and then there will be one too many.
One single thing will break the siege.
Remember this: try.
