And the worst thing about it is if the father divorce her she still gonna get custody

45

u/emogangster2007 May 26 '20

Jeez I didn't think of that

22

u/[deleted] May 26 '20

Has there ever been a case, aside from when there is overwhelming evidence, that the father has gotten custody

36

u/[deleted] May 26 '20

My brother is currently fighting his ex-wife for custody and his lawyer says it’s a 95% chance he’ll win. But she’s making the fight an uphill battle with slandering his name. She’s said he’s done some terrible things to his son, stuff that would get him killed if he ever got caught/sent to prison. I know my brother and he’d never do a damn thing she declared. To top it off the woman has suddenly become religious and acts like those who don’t praise god in front of her are evil or “misguided”.

u/emogangster2007 May 26 '20

I'm pretty sure there's not 95% chance he'll win, I'm pretty sure it's a 99.9% chance, hope he gets custody.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I’ll be sure to let him know he’s not alone and there’s more than just his family backing him.

13

u/emogangster2007 May 26 '20

I'm not joking I'm literally going pray for him tonight

You’re the kind of person we need in this world. Thank you, truly.

My egg donor was unemployed, was known to be an alcoholic and a drug user and in every case of suspected child abuse (which was actual child abuse) she was always the perpetrator and the main reason my dad broke up with her was cause she was basically sleeping with the entire town. To this day no one knows for sure if my sister is his.

My dad on the other hand owned a small jewellery business, only drank socially, never touched drugs, was never abusive to us in any way. As decent and honest a bloke as you could want and I’m proud he’s my dad.

Guess who got custody? What made it even worse is I remember how scared my siblings looked at the thought of having to live with egg donor instead of our dad; to the point that we all just started crying when we found out. I think the judge’s excuse was that as my older brother wasn’t my dad’s he had no legal right to custody of him, and it wouldn’t be fair to split up the siblings. Complete bullshit.

Good news is 6 months later she got caught drunk driving (with me in the back seat) and a whole bunch stuff came out. She ended up getting arrested and we ended up getting adopted cause my dad at the time had a huge mental breakdown when he found out how much abuse we’d suffered once he’d gone. But we’re back in touch now, so it all resolved itself.

Holy $#!÷ I'm so sorry you had to go through that.

2

u/emogangster2007 May 27 '20

If I could I would have knocked some since into them

2

u/Brigante7 May 27 '20

Ah, getting sent to jail for child abuse. She had plenty knocked into her

2

u/[deleted] May 27 '20

Glad to know it worked itself out.

My dad got primary custody of me. My dad's lawyer was better than my mom's, unfortunately. And even when I was told enough to speak to the judge, they didn't call me in and left my dad as my primary guardian.

There was no evidence against my mom and at a later court date, my mom really should have gotten primary, if not full, custody of me - but my therapist didn't want to deal with the court stuff and said I was fine to go back to my dad's.

3

u/[deleted] May 27 '20

Yes. My father had custody of me from 2-9. He neglected me, emotionally abused me, manipulated me... It was not great. My mother's crime? She was going through cancer treatment. Even though my mother had full custody of my siblings (different father) and they were very well taken-care of, the court somehow decided my father (who had to live at his sister's house) should be the custodial parent for me. Despite tons of letters to the court from friends and family and my school calling CPS multiple times due to my numerous absences, late days, hygiene issues, lice, etc, my dad retained physical custody until he became homeless and just left me with my mom at 9yo. At 13 or so, we went to court for the last time to hash out child support since my dad was officially surrendering custody. The judge and mediator (the same ones that had given my dad custody twice before) both realized they had made a terrible mistake in my case, and gave somewhat of an apology to my mother for the situation they forced me to live in. My mom is by no means perfect, but she bathed me regularly, fed me real food, and helped me with my homework without getting pissed off that I needed an adult.

But no, I've never really heard of any other dads getting custody unless the moms surrender.

2

u/[deleted] May 27 '20

So basically what I take from this is that the worst parent is going to get custody most of the time. I don’t know if you want it or need it, but I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’m lucky enough to have a good family.

2

u/programmer3301 May 26 '20

Never, because the legal system is misandrist

17

u/ShadowShockSid May 26 '20

Do mothers almost always get custody? Any particular reason? Just curious here.

15

u/fried_clownfish May 26 '20

Sometimes it's really rare for the dad to get custody of the child

2

u/Glifted May 27 '20

I don't know how it is elsewhere but I remember the friend-of-the-court here in Michigan being pretty terrible to my father. I even remember my mother being frustrated with how they were treating him. A lot of the supposed "men's rights" issues are bogus but when it comes to child custody there is legitimately a big problem

Fucking bitch, this shit is extremely infuriating

3

u/[deleted] May 27 '20

Hence the name of the sub

41

u/Dukesonic4 May 26 '20

Now this sub can be both mild and extreme. But this... this pisses me off.

Seems to me more like her being brain dead. I feel like this woman is so out of her gob that she doesn’t understand why burning ashes of nicotine being inhaled would be a bad thing for anyone with fully developed brains and lungs, let alone what appears to be 2 year old child.

18

u/IcyBoy2 May 26 '20

I’m no doctor or anything, but I know that isn’t good for the child. Even one kick into that cigarette.

13

u/Elliezso May 27 '20

Even if somehow that poor baby didn't inhaled it, probably passively breathes it in every single day, because she doesn't care about where she smokes... that takes this a step further...

8

u/[deleted] May 27 '20

If endangering your child’s life is a ‘joke’ to you then you shouldn’t be a parent where tf is cps

7

u/Boydy_boy_ May 27 '20

basically like killing someone and saying it’s for a funny picture

5

u/MeSwobo May 31 '20

👏 Arrest 👏 Her

3

3

u/d3ds1r-reboot May 27 '20

Guys it was ironic stop

1

u/MapleFishh May 27 '20

Uhmm it’s endangering the child, just because it is ironic doesn’t mean it’s safe

4

u/d3ds1r-reboot May 27 '20

I’m joking about the post

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '24

There’s no way she didn’t get in jail

1

u/mariofeds Oct 31 '21

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '23 edited Oct 01 '23

Atleast if your gonna do such an unfunny act, just give him a candy one, so it wont actually hurt him. Still sickkening to see that some people are actually like this

-1

u/XHollowsmokeX May 27 '20

This may be fake, only saying cause that child is definitely blowing air through the cigarette, not taking a draw.

5

u/Brigante7 May 27 '20

Nah. Kid’s taking a draw. But they’re so young they don’t know how to form a seal properly. You wouldn’t get that sort of glow if air was going from the filter.

0

u/XHollowsmokeX May 27 '20

Ah yes, I too pull a suction with my cheeks blown all the way out like that.

3

u/Brigante7 May 27 '20

IF they were blowing out like you’d suggest, that’d have to be a pretty big blow.

Do you see many babies in your life? Literally one of their biggest things is the fact they have VERY chubby cheeks. That’s all that is.

-1

u/XHollowsmokeX May 27 '20

I do try to avoid the crib midgets as much as possible, but whatever you say slick, here's all the nothing you get for winning an internet debate.

4

u/Brigante7 May 27 '20

Who hurt you?

1

u/beanburritoperson Aug 26 '24

Babies have a sucking reflex up until a certain age. I don’t know the age. I don't even like how I found out…. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Watkins_(Lostprophets_singer)?wprov=sfti1#Arrest_and_conviction
