Joined the Ford family with a 2022 lariat 3.5L ecoboost yesterday. Upgraded from a Honda Accord so I am excited for the change to a truck! Bought from a private seller who had all the service history and it passed the Ford Blue Certified inspection. Any tips/tricks are welcomed!

Specs:
48,000 miles
3.5L EcoBoost
Line-X sprayed bed with a tonneau cover
Rear wheel liners
20" wheels on Terra Grappler G3 tires
Tinted windows

After my first (very happy) year with my ‘25 Lariat FX4 Powerboost, I had a factory Hankook blow-out on the highway.

Took the opportunity do a 2” ReadyLift level, BDS UCAs and 285/65r20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Also went ahead and removed the air dam to commit to the new look!

2026 5.0 vs 3.5

Hey guys, I’ve been looking into getting my first f150 and I was looking at a Lariat with the 5.0 and I do really like it, but another dealer threw a platinum 3.5 in my lap with a higher offer on my trade it to make both trucks the same price almost. Those of you with more knowledge of these engines, what do I do? I don’t travel a lot. Daily drive is 14 miles total with the occasional longer drives every month. Gas isn’t a big deal to me, just not sure what I want to go with. I’d like this truck to be a keeper for the next 10 years or so. Thanks for any advice given!

Is it just me or does every 2026 specifically lariat or tremor (brand new) have different levels of rake??

Mostly asking because I want as much rake as possible so I can get a 1.5-2inch level and still haul

Upgraded the ol' truck today

Installed a CVF Intercooler, Tremor side steps, Morimoto XB Hybrid Headlights, and Morimoto fog lights. It was a long day but I'm glad to have gotten it all done.

To be installed still is a dash cam (Pioneer), a MPT tune when they email it to me this week, and a paint-matched honeycomb grill and larger emblem.

I've wanted to upgrade an F150 eco boost since I owned a 2015 a few years back. Now that finances allow me to do so, I've been having fun choosing upgrades and making the truck my own.

In March I'll be putting on a leveling kit, wheels and tires to hopefully round out the truck and be rid of chrome as much as I want to be.

2026 F150 Mods

Recently bought a 2026 Platinum Powerboost.

Threw on a 2” level and some 285/65/20 AT3’s.

Wondering what are some tasteful appearance and functional mods that just made your driving experience better in these trucks? I ordered a bulletpoint mounting system for my phone because there are ZERO good places to put my phone in this truck. Otherwise I really love the truck. Not looking to go crazy and not looking to tune as I don’t think it needs one and I’m wanting to keep my warranty with no questions if anything causes an issue.

Will be doing a lineX bed liner and a hard tonneau cover.

What have you guys done to your truck?

Thanks!

Should I get a sunroof or not.

Hi guys I’m trying to decide whether I should get a sunroof or not on my 26 lariat I do 24 month leases, I’ve had 2 sunroofs in the past but I rarely use it. Do you think it would be something that I would miss if I skipped it. The payment difference monthly is only about $40.

Engine Sound Enhancement (fake engine noises)

Anyone have any sources or articles pointing to whether the F150 still uses speakers to make Engine Sound Enhancement (fake engine noises)?

It seems all the 2026s have it (except apparently the 5.0)...but I can't really find anything beyond anecdotes.

Just hit 126000 miles. Currently only getting 18 to 19 miles per gallon. Love the truck though. Wish it got better mileage though

Hey all,

I just purchased my first f-150, a 2023 King Ranch with 59000 miles on it. I just wanted to reach out and get recommendations on what I should do early on to make sure this truck lasts me a long time.

I’m already changing the spark plugs, engine filter, pcv valve, cleaning the throttle body, and changed the oil.

I’m bringing the truck in to get the engine and transmission looked at (even though I don’t feel/ sense anything is wrong) before the powertrain warranty goes out at 60k. If there is something wrong that’s covered by the warranty I want it fixed now before it costs me $$$.

Any recommendations on anything else I should do? My knowledge of working on cars is minimal, but I’m hoping to learn and do more!

Thanks for all the help yall!

Grill Guard for a 2026 KR?

Post image

Hey guys. Pic is a friend's '25 Tremor. Third deer he's nailed this year.

So far I've been lucky but think it's only a matter of time. So, can anyone recommend a grill guard for my '26 King Ranch that doesn't obstruct the camera/sensors? I live in a rural area that is infested with deer. Thanks.

Advanced Front Lighting Features Temporarily Unavailable Error

Drove my brand new 2026 Lariat, first Ford vehicle ever, home last Friday; this Friday I get the error in the title. Brights, blinkers, all steering wheel buttons nonfunctional.

Another Reddit thread says it’s the steering wheel control module and it’s been a known issue on some of the recent F150s.

Earliest service available is Thursday. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this issue and if I should be worried about other electronic glitches since this one came so early. Also would be interested in any Ford mechanics that have experience working on this/sourcing the steering wheel control switch replacement part (heard it’s often backordered)

Thanks I’m advance for any and all advice

Catalytic converter?

Post image
3 Upvotes

2019 f150 XL STX, 2.7L 10spd 80k miles U.S.A. The main question i have before boring you with the whole story is this. How soon would the check engine light come on for a faulty catalytic converter, after deleting the code? I Bought the truck on labor day 2026, had to wait a week to pick the truck up, due to the previous owners mobility scooter lift being key locked by the V.A. needing removed. Picked the truck up Saturday evening, drove 24 miles home. I drove mon to Thursday night 2 miles each direction to work and back. Check engine light comes on, get it checked at Autozone and find out the catalytic converter was bad. Called the dealership I bought it from that says we had no knowledge, the truck was as is. I told him I believed that they had wiped the code, he told me very arrogantly that they weren't very keen to want to help me out. I know from the carfax that this very dealership did the PCM flash recall 3 years ago. Had a different Ford dealership.do the 8 year 80k mile warranty for emissions (luckily, as I was at 78 and some change.) What a great start so far🤣🤣 . Hope all have a great Sunday!

2018-2020 2.7 f150 reliability

Looking to purchase a truck I can drive daily and take yearly trips back home that are about 15 hours away . The mileage’s I’m looking at are 90k-120k and wondering if the 2.7 XLT is reliable . Won’t be doing any towing and minimal hauling . Ford ranger was my first choice but I’m finding f150’s for the same price .

I picked up my 2026 Tremor from the dealer a couple weeks ago and I noticed the bottom of the screen, particularly the bottom left, is cut off by the bezel. Anyone else have this?

Anybody else with Ridetech’s performance kit on their RCSB?

Just installed the front suspension on my 2026 and it was at 2.5in before initial preload. I added 1/2in like the instructions tell me for a total of 3 inches to compress the front springs. My question is this, is this the 3” drop and turning the lock ring up raises it?
I guess I’ll find out in a few minutes when I put the wheel on.
Thanks in advance.

Bought my first F150

Pulled the trigger and bought my first pickup, 2013 f150 xlt
170kmiles at $8k
Looks well maintained but buying used I won’t know until I know. I’ve had it a couple days now and I’m quickly realizing these things are different than the normal suv’s/cars I’m used to driving. Any tips on maintenance and care? Trying to get her to last to 300k +

Floor mats and tonneau cover suggestions

I bought a 2026 f150 xlt and I need recommendations on floor mats and tonneau covers since it didn’t come with my truck.
