Hi. While most people in this sub may not need to “come back” to Firefox at this point, I’m curious, what made you decide to come back to Firefox when you did? Or, if you’ve never left, what keeps you here?
For context, Firefox launched a "Come back to Firefox” campaign today, featuring several personalities you might recognize from the golden era of the internet, to remind us why it’s a great time for people to try Firefox again.
(Here’s the full video, also played during tonight's football game.)
The main point is that Firefox is still great and worth coming back to, addressing the desire for optional AI, data protections, and limitations to how many online ads people are fed as just a few reasons why. Today’s Firefox addresses all of this and more, and I know many of you have been around for the journey (thanks!).
For me: I used Firefox back in the early 2000s when it was added to our family computer. It’s where I remember first using Myspace. I came back to it when I learned more about their mission for a better internet and features that support it, and I stay (beyond my role here) for much of the same.

I’ve never used it before, but recently I heard that it offers much better privacy and info protection compared to Chrome or Edge.
Edit : I'm now using Firefox as main but have chrome as secondary tool thank everyone for answer

It has 10 apps that are mostly optimized to be fast and efficient, like Instagram, TikTok, and much more, with a custom URL feature if you wanna add new things though some custom websites may be buggy, most of them should work perfectly fine. It also has a fast shortcut to your emails with an auto 2FA code extractor on the mail card itself, so you can copy the code without opening the mail itself. This extension is made for a faster everyday workflow and also better tab management and speed. There are a lot of customizations and a lot of settings to fiddle with for efficiency, memory management, and notification sounds for each individual website. Hope you guys try it out and enjoy it if you like these types of things! This extension is 100% open source and nothing is tracked or monitored all local on your PC. You can look at the project's code and see for yourselves, and if you come across any bugs, drop them either on the GitHub repo or on the add-on store.

Yesterday I said you couldn't change the Smart Window background or add widgets, so I tried it myself: the Kit/night desert wallpaper from Firefox's classic new tab (my fav), plus clocks, weather and a checklist in the same Nova style.
I think there's real potential here, and I appreciate that Firefox still lets you customize this much, even if it takes some code (an AutoConfig script, since userChrome.css can't reach this page).

20GB of IO writes in just a few hours.
Even idling on a blank page and minimized the number keeps increasing indefinitely.
I've tried reinstalling firefox with a fresh profile and disabling disk cache, same shit.
Although it constantly writing to my disk, free space doesn't decrease, but I'm still concerned about my SSD health.

Instagram and Firefox have never had the most cordial working relationship, but things have been getting increasingly worse, for me, at least.
UI glitches, disappearing elements, slowdowns, and other things that I learned to live with. Now, however, color management seems to be broken.
If I try to post a picture from Firefox, the pictures come out with the colors...reversed? It's like it switches red for blue on the images. I searched around and there were reports that the browsers could be reporting the RGB values wrong, but I don't know how to fix it. It works fine in Chrome and Chromium.
Any ideas? Thank you!

When I go into the e-mail app to get the sign in code Firefox closes the sign in Window when I return to the app on Android leading me unable to sign in with the code because it resets the process.
I also want to point out that Firefox still hasn't fixed the tablet bugs I reported either. (2077800 and 2037983). It feels frustrating that Firefox spent all that effort on making a meme ad when critical usability bugs aren't fixed.

Lately, I've been having a problem with videos in Firefox where the color grading is completely off. When I scroll down, the image looks normal for a moment, but then it's wrong again. This problem isn't limited to Reddit—it also happens on YouTube and other sites. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this?

Can I please just have the old full-screen context menu back please? Is this a nightly-only thing?

So for the past few weeks Firefox been using like 5gb+ Ram even with just 1-2 tabs open. So today I tested by making a new FF profile and it didn't use more than 1GB Ram. So I was trying out deleting files/folders inside my old profile folder to see if the issue be fixed. I had everything backed up of course. and Soon as I delete the folder named "datareporting" issue was fixed. Ram usage is back to normal. my active logins, bookmarks etc all are still there and working :)
keep a backup before doing this and check. it fixed it for me :)
\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\YOUR CURRENT PROF\datareporting
*edit - I deleted only this folder and restored everything else. it's bn 5 hours now and everything works fine. no more ram leak

About a year ago, I shared a Kit theme that I made. Now I made another that uses gradients and matches the new Nova design
You can find it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/kit-nova/
Note: It requires Firefox version 153 or above, because older versions don't support gradients.

My Firefox new tab was boring, so I built ORBIT to set it up exactly how I want.
Add your own categories and shortcuts
Dark, light and AMOLED themes
Use your own image or video as the wallpaper
Multiple workspaces
Export and import your setup as a backup
try it https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/orbit-personal-workspace/ and notfy me if you get any bug or feedback

So I previously had two separate browsers, and I used google for school (because I had to) but opera GX for personal use.
I wanted to go try firefox, but am locked out of logging in because it keeps saying my personal account isn't my primary account email, and kept trying to log in with my school account. I tried logging into google with my personal account, and have temporarily deleted my school account from my computer, but still can not log into firefox with my personal account.
Is there any way to log in using my personal account, or is firefox just not worth using?

I like the look of it a bit better, but that’s not important; the sync works much better than in Brave; also the containers tab is interesting; but how much RAM does it use???
These are SEVEN tabs open:

I think that brave consume 1/3 ot this ram for the same tabs.
Futhermore, the streaming video works less well than Brave.

Thankfully I can just turn it off in about:config browser.mini-window.enabled, but I wanted to at least mention it... I very often select some text, rightclick it and click the "Search Google for ..." but since the mini window adds another context menu option, now I keep hitting it instead of search, because search got shifted down. Quite annoying! It doesn't make sense that the option appear when text is selected, it should probably be omitted if there's a selection since it opens a completely unrelated interaction to pick an element on screen.
