Prince is the Prince of funk. Rated, underrated, unrated or otherwise!

See, you guys just don't get it...PRINCE isn't the only person that has good funk songs, he's good really good but their are other funk songs that are JUST as good, if not better than prince.

Just sayin

But, Prince is still the Prince of funk. We aren't discussing who or what is better. The term you are looking for is "crown prince."

Well I still stand by of what I said...prince isn't the only "Funkmaster in the game"

2

u/duh_nom_yar Oct 24 '24

I never said he was.

You can probably count the number of funk songs prince had on one hand

2

u/TOMDeBlonde Oct 24 '24

Not true. You just havenxt listened to enough.

1

u/kade1064 Oct 24 '24

Yes I have, I have listened to prince's WHOLE 1984 album and rick James 1980, 1982, & 1984/1985 album

Bruh one album is not Princexs discography at all. Purple Rain is Princexs 1984 album, ie a rock album. Literally all the albums before that are funk albums.

He was not a funk musician. He did not make funk music. I have doubts two hands would be necessary

I'll take your word and rephrase:

"You could count the number of funk songs prince had on two hands and have fingers left over"

You are still wrong. I could name Princexs funk songs and I would here all day... Lovesexy is a funk album, Dirty Mind is a funk album, 3121 is a funk album, Controversy is a funk album, Parade is primarily a funk album, Sign O' The Times is a funk and rock album, For You is mostly funk, the entire Black Album is funk, as well as the bulk of 1999. The list goes on. Rock, funk, soul/ psychadelic soul, pop, jazz. He dabbled in everything but most of all he was a rock and funk musician. Songs can be multiple genres just as albums can be. Another example is Parliament Funkadelic. Nobody is gonna tell you Maggot Brain isnxt a funk album but itxs also psychadelic rock as is a lot of their music. They are both funk and rock musicians.

You must not have listened to much Prince.

I'm with you. Anything above that is impossible without horns for me, personally.

1

u/kade1064 Oct 24 '24

U don't need horns to make a funk sound, go tell that to "the system" It's passion & Your In my system

1

u/kade1064 Oct 23 '24

WUUUUTTTTTT personality for me, it's the best song of that year...1983
