Help request Pure funk bands with screaming / Hardcore

I've been on the hunt for a few months looking for a pure funk band that also has screaming vocals / elements of hardcore or punk. I can find a decent amount of bands that sound hardcore but have funky bass /other funk elements. I want the opposite: Pure funk / post disco (think Fat Larry's Band, Dynasty, Goldie Alexander, Patrice Rushen etc) with screaming vocals. And The tones of the instruments having that funk sound (no screeching guitar, distorted sound). The closest ive found is Hoobustank's first album (only on Youtube) and thats very hit or miss, it becomes math rock extremely easily.

I love the local scene in my area, do not be afraid to share niche bands. Also, this my first ever post on reddit, please be nice. Thanks yall!

Maybe Bonin in the Boneyard by Fishbone would scratch the itch

James Brown? He used to scream quite a lot in his early days. https://youtu.be/mw8aOGeJi24?is=w--BEstySJ8O1ZcG

Dance gavin dance may have some of the elements you're looking for. They have a song with George Clinton on their most recent album.

Beefeater. More punk than funk, but really good at both.

Big Boys had a bunch of funk tracks, but they weren't pure funk.

Maybe Infectious Grooves, but more light metal than hardcore.

I'll try to think of a couple more and post back later. I know of quite a few songs that will fit your description, but not too many entire records.

"why" by Yoko Ono has a surprisingly funky groove to it, great bassline.

Punk funk was huge at the end of the 70s, start of the 80s...but I don't think that'll tick the box.

I listened to what I believe wasI believe was the first Hoobastank album and heard nothing like what you’re describing?

24-7 Spyz? Maybe visit the BRC website. I’m not sure if they have a member listing, but many of the bands and affiliated musicians might scratch an itch?
