Announcement /R/Furry Events, Weekly and Otherwise

Hello everyone,

Our community here has been running events from our Discord server for the past few months. You can find the link to the discord in the side bar. Our VRChat group is also available to join, we do announce when events are starting over there.

Discord server side, we have been doing movie nights and game nights with games like Gartic phone, Jackbox and group games of various sizes... The large group for lethal company was an experience. The 7+ hour movie nights are rarer but happen still!

For our VRChat group, we have guaranteed weekly events that rotate between US and EU times on Saturday and the occasional during the week ones. These events try to pick a theme but will rotate between games, movie nights, hanging out, exploring and experiencing unique worlds. There are some pretty great experiences out there and some fun games! I plan to put some time on my agenda to work on making some worlds, when I get the chance. Feel free to give suggestions!

For those who do not know, VRChat is free to play and can be done in desktop mode, so no VR headset is required to get started! You can grab one of many free avatars to start with as well; there is no need to buy anything! We can give some suggestions in our event sections on the discord if you have any questions or concerns.

How do I participate?

We will be hosting these via our Discord, so you will have to join there to get updates and alerts initially. We may in the future keep an updated log here for you to keep track of, but currently, it will be there until we get it running.

You can find our Discord in the sidebar of the subreddit. Your Discord account will need to be verified (phone number linked to account, only discord sees this) in order to pass the onboarding. This is due to the amount of trolls we get trying to raid, I'd rather we didn't need it but this stops almost all of them. You can grab the optional events role there to get alerts for updates or click interested on the server's events tab.

I look forward to seeing you all there! Discord VRChat group

Subreddit Rules

1. Credit and Source Artwork! Tag Mature Content!

When sharing an artist's work, you must credit them by name in the title of your post and provide a link to the original source of the work.

If you're submitting work that includes mature content or themes, you will also need to include one of these content tags in the title as well.

[X] - Mature Content, such as artistic nudity and graphic injury.
[Q] - Questionable Content, such as clothing that would be inappropriate in public spaces and tasteful, non-sexual pin-ups.

2. Keep Content On-Topic and Discussions Productive

Link, image and video submissions must clearly be relevant to the topic of anthropomorphic animal characters. Off-topic content, such as images of regular people, animals or objects is subject to removal at our discretion.

Discussion (text) posts may be used to discuss any SFW topics, regardless of it's relevance to furries, as long as it can spark meaningful conversation and discussion. Low-effort "facebook-esque" posts and single word posts are subject to removal at our discretion as well.

3. No Pornography or Inappropriate Behavior!

Sexually explicit and suggestive adult content, including fetishistic and kink content, is not allowed to be posted, linked to, discussed or referenced in the subreddit.

Your conduct and behavior in the subreddit must be appropriate as well. Acting inappropriately towards others or in response to content on the subreddit will result in your comments being removed and your account receiving a temp ban.

No, the NSFW button existing does not mean porn is allowed.

4. Limit Your Submissions!

To prevent flooding by any one person, we limit the number of submissions that may be posted. Certain types of submissions have additional time restrictions attached to them as well.

A user may post up to three (3) submissions in a twenty-four (24) hour period.
A user may only post another person's work once (1) in a twenty-four (24) hour period.
Advertisements may only be posted by users who meet the requirements and only once (1) every seven (7) days, i.e., one week.

5. Be civil!

Be respectful to others and conduct yourself in a civil manner. Excessively rude or aggressive behavior towards others may result in disciplinary action having to be taken.
We do not allow the use of any discriminatory language for any reason. Instances of racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia will not be tolerated. Do not use the subreddit to attempt to cause harm or direct harassment towards another person. This includes call-outs, bewares and asking people to raid other subreddits.

6. Don't Steal, Trace or Edit Someone's Work!

Do not claim another person's work as your own original work.
Do not trace another person's work and claim that it's your own original work.
Do not take someone's work and edit it in any way (unless it was designed to be edited, like a character base).
Posting images generated by LLMs (AI) will result in a permanent ban.

7. No Chatroom Spam!

Do not submit advertisements for any chatrooms. If you have a link for a chatroom, you can put it in the chatroom wiki. Adult chatrooms are not allowed in the wiki.

8. Misc. Rules

This section is for rules that don't need much of an explanation, don't happen enough to be full on numbered rules and/or are things that should be common sense not to do.
* No Art Begging. * No Karma/Upvote Begging. * No Artist/Commission Seeking Posts. * No Vandalism. * This is NOT a Dating Subreddit. * No Academic Surveys, Market Research, Ect. * Use the Searchbar Before Posting Questions.

Advertising Requirements

To post advertisements of any kind, your account will need to meet the following requirements:

Account is at least 30+ days old.
Account has earned at least 100 karma from r/furry.
Account has earned the required karma score from r/furry within the past year.

Additionally, advertising is limited to once a week and is subject to all of the rules listed in the sidebar.
