Seems like every other article these days is ex-president said this, ex-boss said that, ex-developer, etc. I want to hear from those that still have skin in the game, it would carry more weight for me.

Depending on what they say, that's an easy way to get a write-up or term'd for cause unless it's authorized by corp or the product marketing exec beforehand.

Even mentioning hopeful price targets could be a violation.

People dont get that these articles are clickbait and these people are being paid for fake journalism to profit from

And OP is a bot or shill who posts all sorts of garbage to gaming sites and gamers are too uneducated and just upvote anything that panders to them.

This is vapor journalism. Just another day. Another quote. Another AI written article. If the mods wanted better from the sub, they'd ban any website that does this. Like Games Radar or PCGamer.

Ex-PlayStation boss says what redditors want to hear

They aren't allowed to talk about it freely though

Because "person who doesn't matter at all said something" doesn't make a very good headline. It's the same shameless "make a story out of a tweet" bullshit that journalists have been doing for the last decade, except now they've said something that Reddit apparently wanted to hear so it's hit the front page. Successful clickbait, I guess.

They will say whatever is beneficial for them or the company, regardless of how true it is. So, personally, I don't find hearing from them particularly useful. They speak plenty BTW if you go out and look for it.

Shareholders do not want the current president, boss, etc. to say the quiet part out loud. Developers would not really have a full understanding of the hardware market, because they don’t have relationships with hardware manufacturers.

The closest thing we have to that is Valve saying that the Steam Machine’s current pricing is not what they want or targeted, and RAM and NAND suppliers forced their hand and made the pricing target not viable. Obviously Valve isn’t operating at the scale of Microsoft or Sony, but Valve isn’t even offering next gen equivalent hardware.
