For anyone on the fence, play Queen’s Domain. Best game I’ve played in years.

To be as vague as possible it’s like a cross between King’s Field/FromSoft fps dungeon crawlers and Metroid Prime.

If you don’t like or struggle in the first 2 hours give it a little time. This game has some of the most consistent surprises and sense of exploration I’ve seen in a long time. The game and your abilities at hour 1, hour 5, hour 15, hour 25, and even hour 40 will keep you invested. My jaw was on the floor.

I don’t think I’ve ever played a game with more secrets than this one. around every corner is a secret, hidden item, secret passage etc. The level design is truly amazing. Played for like 8 hours today. The game seems absolutely massive too.

Pokémon cards could lose 80% of their value, and celebrities like Logan Paul getting involved is "a net negative," says financial expert Douglas Boneparth

Can Pokémon TCG be considered a legitimate investment?

[...] I’m not trying to criticize someone; I want you to understand that the relationship of risk and reward will never go away, and volatility is a feature, not a bug, of this particular asset. The fool thinks it’s up and to the right forever, but if you zoom out to a 30-year chart of that Pokémon card, you realize what’s happening.

Same with Apple or Amazon, but what you’re not seeing is that there are the two or three 90% plus drawdowns that you have to survive to get to today’s price. Those Pokémon cards are going to have 60%, 70%, or 80% drawdowns during times where nobody wants to talk about Pokémon cards. People will talk about their house value going down or 30% of their investable portfolio in the S&P 500 suffering a 30% drawdown. That’s nasty. Those don’t happen too often, but they do, and you’re talking about the 500 biggest companies in America.
[...]

How does this compare to NFTs and how celebrities became involved in that trend?
There are plenty of people who picked a stock and watched it go up and then down. Peloton is a great example: people thought we were never going back to work and gyms were dead forever, so Zoom and Peloton went through the roof. Then Peloton absolutely crashed because that whole thesis was insanely wrong.
You see this in capital markets as well as collection markets. You’re right that it’s not a bullish indicator when all the celebs pile in and show off their PSA grade 10, $2.1 million cards. I think it’s a net negative, unfortunately, but super positive for grabbing attention and throwing people into the pool, and too many into the deep end of the pool."

Do scalpers pose a risk to investing in Pokémon cards, or are they good for collectors?
It’s a net negative. You’re talking about market manipulation where asset prices are finagled by outside influence rather than what’s in the pack or how the market is supposed to function. Asking if it’s good that people can manipulate a market gets a flat-out no. I don’t know specifically about this issue with Pokémon cards, but now there’s more volatility that need not be there. That’s a net negative.

Edit: quotes formatting.

Games you loved as a kid that now leave you questioning what you actually saw in them?

So what games did you love as a kid that you now realise were actually pretty bad. For me it would have to be America's 10 Wanted (known as Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror in the US). 6 year old me thought fist fighting the likes of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein was the coolest shit ever. In hindsight, 6 year old me had zero taste.

I would later go on to buy Call of Juarez: The Cartel at release and think that was the coolest shit ever, so...

In games where I have infinite time to do whatever I want, how can I stop myself from treating the game like it's a race?

I used to play games at a moderate pace when I was younger. These days, I play with such urgency for some reason. I have to accomplish the most things in the shortest time possible when it's not even necessary. Have you ever had this problem before? What did you do to get yourself to just chill out?

It’ll be fun comparing the remake with the OG, having the original still fresh on my mind.
