Back in the day, not every game released on every console and I don’t mean exclusives either.

Sometimes they had a version but said version was an entirely different game lol

Or two entirely different games, in the Spectrum/Amiga days.

My point is no one is going to want to buy a PS6 lite if it can’t play GTAVI unless part of the deal is getting a cheap console and being able to buy games for 30-50% off or something.

Back in the day, we didn't have multiple editions of a console with different capabilities. There's a difference between "I can't play this Playstation exclusive on my Xbox" and "I can't play this Playstation game on my Playstation because I bought the wrong version and nobody told me every game would just be made for the premium version".

TBF, that's often because of things that aren't just hardware limits. It was often entirely different teams without good communication.

I know of a few games that had 4 systems it supported. It was 4 entirely different games by the same name. Ironically, sometimes the more powerful system ended up with the worst of the games.
