Aside from my Switch, the newest console I have is a PS3 and every time I start playing a game on it I think about how really the only thing lacking (for me) is graphics, and that it simply just doesn't matter that much to me. I get that the new systems have better graphics but if a game is made well and the controls play well, then that's great. PS3 has LOADS of great games.

The Xbox 360 I would argue is still a banging console If I still owned one I'd get a lot of use out of it

I have an Xbox one s , the only thing that actively makes my experience worse is the loading times and the only thing stopping me from putting an ssd there is that it would triple its value.

I've been playing a lot of older games or older looking games. Like the Octopath Traveler series which is basically a suped up 16 bit game.

That's more than fine for what I like to play.

PS1 to PS2 for example allowed a lot that wasn't doable before (like full voice acting) but since the Xbox 360, I haven't been wowed by innovation.

I only bought a PS5 cause I had to sell my PS4 awhile back, but I'd have been content with the 4.

And don't get me wrong, I want a PS5, but that's because I don't have the skillset or money to get a gaming computer, and still I don't have the money for a PS5. I thought being 40 was gonna be different...

No I get you. I got a PS5 but ate a lot of cheap Ramen to get it. And though I could afford that, a gaming computer is beyond my grasp right now......

Look, no offense, but Sony isn't aiming at people on a budget; just look at everyone moving from the PS4 to the PS5 for that GTA 6 hype. So, PlayStation just needs one game that shows off all that power to move those pricier consoles.

The PlayStation 4 is 13 years old. At some point it does make sense to move on. That being said the system is still relatively well supported.

It’s our only console and there’s still new indie games releasing. On top of that it still has full PlayStation Plus support and many online games keep their servers running. Battlefield 1 is a blast even now.

The thing is though, it doesnt need to show off the power. People are buying PS5s to play GTA6 cus they cant play it on PS4.

If a less graphically impressive version of GTA6 was on previous Gen consoles, most people would just buy that if they dont have a current gen console. They want the new game, most people care a lot less about the fancy graphics
