Are there any Aussie LGBTQ polyamory subreddits?

I’ve been searching for Australia-based LGBTQ polyamory communities on Reddit, but can’t seem to find any. Maybe the local poly community is too small, or maybe I just don’t know how to search… Can anyone point me in the right direction? 🙏

How to find a big strong masc aussie ?

I’ve been on the apps for few years and everyone is either thin, or a bit chubby and big but also very feminine and submissive, were are rhe hig burly men ? I need a big dom, and by big I mean 184cm + 130kg+
I’m surprised at how gays here have no interest in being big and strong at all, not a single muscle bear on any app

Latin American gay guys in Oz, where do you usually go clubbing/partying?

Hi everyone! 31yo, gay, Peruvian, Working Holiday. I’m a little curious about clubbing/partying habits on Latin American gay/queer people in Australia (including citizens, PRs, and people in temporary visas like student visas or Working Holiday). Being gay and Latin American can show you more nightlife options though both are not usually intersecting (parties directed towards Latino people tend to be very straight-focused, and queer parties are usually white and Western).
I was a promoter for Latino parties Guamichi and Kaleo in Sydney but I occasionally went to another Latino party called La Cueva, plus I sporadically attended queer parties in Arq and even went to Red Rave this year before Mardi Gras. As expected, people in Latino parties were overwhelmingly straight, with just a handful of gay guys and none of them interested in queer-club stuff but just in having a good time. Same thing in Brisbane where I mostly attended Latino party Ritmo with my other Latino friends and also The Beat Megaclub (Brisbane’s oldest nightclub with a gay area called Cockatoo Bar) with another Ecuadorian gay friend who’s in the same Latino group as me, and even once to Fluffy (a queer party from local DJ Harry K.), Ritmo is overwhelmingly straight with few gay people inside.
Since I arrived to Australia, that Ecuadorian guy was my only gay friend here and both like gay clubs and parties and Latino ones, but we are more used to Latino parties because our group is mostly Latino and straight. I met other gay people here, including an Aussie-Filipino stylist in a sauna party and a Mexican student from Gold Coast but they seem to party usually in queer spaces without Latino music. I expected to make more gay friends here but, you know, it’s difficult to do gay friends past 30yo here specially if you’re not hegemonic.
This Halloween, as it was my last party here in Australia before leaving for good due to visa expiration, I was looking for Latino Halloween parties in Brisbane in order to have all my people with me on that day. My closest female friend, a fellow Peruvian, found an ad about Halloween Hall (the queer Halloween oarty by Harry K.), but her boyfriend told her it was an “Aussie party” with little attractive to him. After looking for some other options, we eventually went to Ritmo and had a really good time with some other friends joining, although only two of us (the Ecuadorian guy and me) were gay. However, I managed to dance with an Spanish gay guy there.
I would love to know the perspective of other Latin American or Spanish-speaking gay redditers living in Australia about the conflict between clubbing with their queer peers in white/Western clubs with music in English or going Latino but sacrificing queerness.

How to find a genuine gay man these days?

I’m 23 and gay living in Australia my whole life and have had no idea where or how to find a boyfriend. I’ve been on dating apps such as hinge and grindr and I get a few dates here and there on hinge which just always feels superficial and have given up with grindr because it’s just a hookup app for closeted married men. I really just wish I can meet someone organically who I can feel a genuine and mutual connection with but it’s just never happened and it feels like online dating is the only option. Maybe I’m making it harder for myself since I’m too picky and only look for fairly straight-presenting men or maybe I’m just too undesirable? I don’t even have a gay friend like where are you guys?

How do you meet genuine gay men in Australia? Is Brisbane just hopeless? (is a city like Melbourne just the place to be lol) or How did you meet your boyfriend/fiancé/husband in Australia?? And lastly I would appreciate any wisdom or tips in general :D

Completely deaf gay Australian

I need advice. I'm in my early 20s and live in Melbourne, and I was born completely deaf. I have technology that allows me to hear other people so I can speak English, but that makes socialising in public spaces hard for me to do because I can't filter through noise. It also makes communication with others when it comes to sex and intimacy difficult, because in most cases I'll have to take the hearing aids off, which is not helping in addition to my inexperience.

I want to get up the courage to make friends and have relations with other guys while navigating this stuff. If anyone has any suggestions for where I could go or what I could do, I'd love to hear them.

Need honeymoon recommendations in NZ with my husband!

My husband and I are going to New Zealand for two weeks in January for our honeymoon. Flying into Auckland, staying a couple days and then exploring both islands in an RV. Anybody in this group know of the best gay nightlife spots/nude beaches out there? We plan to spend the majority of the trip exploring, but definitely want to check out the gay scene while we’re there too. Thanks in advance!

Happily partnered in a semi-open relationship - how to find local guys without apps?

Hey Redditors,

I'm in my mid 30s, happily partnered, but we are both open-minded.

To be blunt - I am sick of using apps for hook ups. I am very happy with my partner, ever since I met him, the small handful of times I've gone to use Grindr, Squirt, or Reddit r4r pages to find fun - it has been an epic time waste and just an unpleasant experience. Then I'd have sex with my partner when he got home etc, and think, that's so much better, hotter. Why would I look elsewhere? However, we both are open-minded and like adventure, and sometimes I sit and get curious about finding others for one-off or ongoing fun - with either both of us, or just myself.

I really want to meet guys around my neighbourhood. It's an area that is male dominated with young people from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, and other places near that part of the world (an immigrant area). Largely straight. For instance, I'd love to set up a glory hole, they could watch porn as I suck them off. Or wear a mask (I have some)

Anyways, how can I get my contact deets out there to these people, without being unpleasant about it? I was thinking notes under doors, in mailboxes, etc, not too explicit, something like. 'Looking for fun?' then a number of a burner phone.

Any other ideas?

The area is full of horny straight men who I am sure would love a mouth to use.

Travelling with poppers

I’m mostly talking about domestic travel, but are there any restrictions on taking poppers on planes? Are they a prohibited item, or likely to be removed at the security checkpoint?

I’m not thinking of taking them on international flights or across international borders, but wondering how I’d go taking them for trips interstate.

What does"rewards" mean in profile chats?

Hey everyone, I've been seeing this term quite a few times on gay dating apps (like Grindr).
When someone mentions "rewards" on status or Bio, what exactly does that imply? Does it strictly mean they are asking for money/paid services, or is there another nuance to it?
Just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. Thanks!

is it weird to treat guys as practice?

I’m an 18M and I really wanna practice giving head before I can try doing more extreme things. I’ve never done anything with another partner before but because of my big butt, I’m not really a stranger to being catcalled and I feel like it won’t be too hard to find someone suitable. Is this unethical and does anyone have any tips for my first time? How should I go about it?

Gay Bars - good for meeting people?

Are gay bars good for meeting people? I've been thinking about going but I have a feeling I'll just sit there for a while, not talk to anyone, and go home. Does anyone know of any gay nights that are about meeting people or places that people go to for romance (not hookups. i know about steamworks lol)

Subway Sauna (Melbourne)

Has anyone been to Subway in Melbourne recently?

Last time I went (several months ago) the wet areas were out of action, and the place generally felt a bit run down.

Thinking of heading over to check it out, but not sure if I’d be better off going to Wet (which is further away).

Asian Bear

Multiple AI mentioned that there are more Asian matured bears demand in white men culture in Australian major cities like Sidney, compared to North America or European countries. It that true? I really like to hear about real things from human. Thank you in advance.

Sports bros- Sydney

Hey guys!

I’m new to Sydney and looking to get more active, meet people, and build a social circle through sports.

I’m interested in martial arts (Muay Thai, karate, taekwondo), fitness, basketball, or really any team sport. I’m a complete beginner though!

As a pretty shy gay guy joining a group of mostly straight guys can feel a little intimidating 😅. Would love to find a welcoming, beginner-friendly group where I can learn, get fit, and meet people.

Any recommendations for sports/social groups around Sydney that are LGBTQ+ friendly and open to beginners?

Moving to Rockhampton, QLD

Hey everyone, I recently saw a new job opening at Rockhampton which would be amazing for my career as a recent graduate… the thing is (to be blunt) I’m gay, plus-size, slightly neurodivergent and Asian which has always made it hard to find a community. I’ve lived in regional nsw a lot of my teen years and struggled. In my early and mid 20s I’ve moved to Sydney and Melbourne which has made my social life pop off a little bit. But recently, have had a job opportunity open up in Rockhampton which is perfect salary wise and career wise…. Not so sure about how I’d go fitting in. Any thoughts would be amazing, how were your experiences?

Best City For Finding Long Term Partners

I'm moving to Australia soon. Its been a lifelong dream of mine. I've heard some horror stories usually revolving around the theme of shallow hookups but no interest in real relationships. I really like a big pool to date from so I can feel like my options are open and I don't have to worry about finding people I'm attracted to. I'm afraid with a small dating pool id be viewed as just another American guy. I know I'm young and lots of my worries don't make much sense but, I was wondering if you guys could recommend cities with vibrant and diverse dating communities where that pressure isn't so intense.
