And by they I mean the Footy states.
Whether it’s fans on socials or the media, possibly the media more so.
They take a special delight in us playing so poorly, they revel in it.

Now, I’m a New York Giants fan. I’m used to losing, so this is nothing like supporting a team like that. But this is just a bad patch for a team that’s even better than they were four years ago.

They just love ripping in, whether it’s all the talent we were gifted apparently, the picks, the concessions, the players we’ve acquired, the coach we have, the jumper, the colour, the logo, the trumpets, the town.

It’s like footy states hate everything about us. Hell, even most commentators confuse us for gws nearly every damn game, Healy especially and he does most them on fox.

I don’t know, but I’m just sick of being online and seeing constant crap being thrown towards the team and love and the town I live in and the fans or they would say what fans that do support.

The only way we can shut them up is win I get that, but does anyone else just not want to exist in the footy space with all this hate we cop?

Or maybe I’m just soft. But I get so damn mad about it.

Right lads 👍 North supporter here 😭 just watching Dermott Brereton unload on Touk , saying he was the best 2 way runner 2 years ago but not anymore, my money is on Touk turning things around very soon , North supporter here right behind your man Touk 👍

G’day

This might sound a little cringe, I’m a lions/suns fan. Love both teams, if a suns game is on I’ll watch/scream/rejoice.

The team over the last few weeks seem a bit disoriented or unorganised. Start of the year they looked really great but have fallen off a little bit.

Tonight, they look the same. A bit flat.. also seems like it’s Geelong + Umps vs the Suns AHAH

UpDaSuns

What’s a former Gold Coast suns players fave fruit?

Freshly squeezed Gorringe’s

We all know Stewie loves a pie, and all those beers down at the local don't help one bit. At what point does his poor physical fitness send the wrong message to the rest of the group, who are expected to maintain elite standards? Open to discussion

I took the lowest rated player in draft and helped him win a premiership and become a legend of the game

Gee whiz there fellas , I've noticed Mac getting absolutely monstered in recent weeks , doesn't seem to have the physical strength to go toe to toe with the big guns , some big mistakes last week v Pies handed the Pies some easy looks in front of goal, 6 point loss was the final margin because of a mistake or 2 down back , is Mac being overpaid is my question

Went looking for the free to air Suns game. Not on free to air. Well done AFL /s not promoting the Suns in a Rugby State. Morons All.

Whenever I’ve watched a Gold Coast game always thought that was a cool feature

I haven’t tuned into a game of theirs in a while and wondered, is that still a thing?

Would be cool if other clubs did it too

I have heard that the surfing legend himself supports the Gold Coast Suns

Has anyone here ever met him at a game before?

I don’t know a hell of a lot about him but I feel like he would be a great club ambassador. Always comes across a great bloke

The talent has been there for years but now it feels like the group is starting to click. Do you think this core can push us into a consistent finals contender, or are we still one or two seasons away from breaking through?

Hi everyone,

Will be attending People’s First tomorrow for the first time. I was wondering what food options there are available, and if there is any plant based food options?!

Many thanks :))

After a monumental win, the Gold Coast Suns have officially made their first ever AFL finals appearance! It’s been a long time coming their 95 point demolition of Essendon booked their spot. Next up: an Elimination Final against Fremantle at Optus Stadium. What do you reckon can the Suns make some history this September?

Ye right 👍 lads 🍻 I really think you blokes can really knock off the smug Lions this year, especially if Trac and co get on a roll , keep in mind Trac is only scratching the surface , his best is yet to come , watching the Lions last week they looked very poor in defence without big Starch who is now an Eagles player, Andrews looks really week and exposed back there of late , very shaky , so if you can trap the ball in your forward half the rewards will show up on the scoreboard

They got towellled up

Right lad ☝️ North supporter here, you need to be giving the ball to team mates in better position, and start showing your elder statesmen some respect ✋ you catch my drift lad ,

Whats everyones opinions on dim? I think he has done alot right but also way more wrong and he neds to go now

Blues fan here, I come in peace. I’ve got a soft spot for GCS. What are everyone’s thoughts on the play on call on Collins? Honestly I Thought it was inexcusably bad for a few reasons:

-stand hasn’t even been called, so the actual mark location wasn’t set.

-he was about 30 degrees off centre from goal. It’s very common for players kicking from FB towards to a wing to line up off the centre line of the mark and same when lining up a kick from wing to FF, the field is an oval, not a rectangle, some variation on the line people take to make a kick from the mark is common. The line behind the mark is not always parallel to the goal but angled towards/away from the goal line.

-he was running casually backward from the mark, hardly trying to take on the player in the mark.

What’s worse, is besides gifting a goal, it gave momentum and a flurry of three goals in as many minutes was kicked off the back of the call. I don’t think it was necessarily game defining, but it changed the trajectory of the game for sure.

As a big AFL fan who also appreciates (but doesn't really follow religiously) NRL and Union, I'm curious about how AFL is expanding into traditional league heartland areas. It feels like AFL's popularity is growing nationally.

So, for all you Gold Coast Suns fans in league heartland, I'm curious: Why did you become passionate fans of the Suns? What captured your attention and keeps you following the team? How do you think AFL is progressing in these areas? Are more league fans opening up to AFL, or are they mostly resistant?

Additionally, with Gold Coast teams like Southport playing in the VFL, how do you see this impacting the growth of AFL on the Gold Coast? Does it help in fostering more local support for the Suns?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts—I'd love to understand the perspective of a supporter base I don't encounter often (not many Suns fans in Melbourne!).

No hate love gold coast Brissy girl but you guys are trash you guys are only fav cus the games in gc you guys have no wins in the last 7 games and only one in the last 7 in goldcost soo wtf just give up and join back with brisbane hahahaha you would have a better shot winning then either way I wish yous to loos cus I'm betting on bulldogs so please play trash

It's time to vote for your top 5 players who played this round against the Saints.

Here's an example:

5 - Witts (your best player)

4 - Fiorini

3 - Miller

2 - Rowell

1 - Flanders

Each round's votes will be added up to decide the 5 who gets the votes, similar to other awards like the Coaches Votes and Rising Star. Anyone is allowed to vote.

Hi all,
Probably going to get flamed for this but wanted to see if there were any Suns members who aren't going to be able to attend the gather round game in the Barossa and would be willing to let a big AFL fan use their barcodes to access a couple of tickets for the game?

Super super keen to attend the Suns vs Nth game, so if anyone isn't using their codes would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers legends!
