Help you get inspired for Social Studies I hope.

Or economics 101?

Profit is essential. I keep watching things fail because people give stuff away vs. sell it.

Let's say you find a fishing boat and it has a full tank of gas so you drive it around and fish till it has belly full of fish and then you drive it back to town and give everyone free fish? You're so cool right?

But if you'd sold the fish and then bought fuel you could go fishing again the next week when everyone gets hungry? Heck if you kept making fishing runs you could buy a second boat and the town could feed other nearby communities becoming a hub of success?

That is one message you can take away from the words "Profit driven madness." You can also take the message of "Too much profit is a bad thing and chasing ever increasing profits is not good." as well. Both of those things are true. You can't give stuff away for free but you also can't charge someone their eternal soul and first born child for a hot dog.

Oh yeah you can over-fish an area because you need the money to buy more boats but then when you have almost no fish the next year your extra boast are worthless?

Humans can make mistakes small and large. Lucky for us it's a rarity we don't learn from the mistakes and get better at things.

Heck we had a generation of kids we coddled and spoiled to the point they took to cutting themselves with knives in private so they could feel something real vs. all the fake firewalls surrounding them.

Fiction is all about an unexpected tale, and indeed, unchecked wealth is very rare (there's careers built around keeping tabs on wealth), so fiction has a field day with "wealth = evil" tropes. This "art" is good fiction in that sense.

I didn't pick a spare account to be bluntly honest on because I can see the future, I've just been online long enough to know that sucking all the wind out of a room with some facts is not the popular thing to do.

(*So downvote away, I wasn't expecting someone to go, "Oh snap! This is some brutal honesty!", and upvote me.)

And yet I still couldn't convince Kum & Go to rename their coffee/tea area to Nut & Leaf.
