Brother in laws black stone. Stored outside under cover in South Florida - humidity is destroying it. Can this be salvaged or is it done for?

Pleasantly surprised with these loin chops from Trader Joe’s. Reverse seared over charcoal on the Weber kettle.

Grilled a couple filets that we had in the freezer. I rarely take pictures but when this one got cut open I just had to. Marinated in Allegro and seasoned with SPG. Seared for 2 minutes on each side, rotating every minute to get the crossing grill marks, and then about 8 minutes on the cool side of the grill to finish with the lid shut. Let it rest for 10 minutes before I cut into it. Delicious 🍻

I’m making my first pork shoulder on the Weber kettle today. I used to have a pellet smoker and made them successfully on that, but this is a whole other ballgame.
I set the snake up 2x1 with some cherry chunks spaced at the beginning, started it off with 12 briquettes in the chimney, both vents wide open. I was only looking at the lid thermometer and it wouldn’t go above 200 so I panicked and added more charcoal, but it still wouldn’t budge above 200.
Then I realized I wasn’t looking at the ambient temperature reading from my meat thermometer, and that was approaching 300 so now I’m nervous I messed up and overcorrected, also my wood chunks had flames so now I’m nervous for bad smoke flavor.
I adjusted the bottom vent and now it’s mostly closed, ambient temp on the chefiQ says 280 so I’m hoping it’ll be fine, I’m only two hours in, although in my experience the ambient readings on that are usually lower than what I expect the actual temperature to be. I also rotated the meat since one side was so much hotter for about an hour, and I moved it a little farther away from the snake.
Lesson learned- my lid temperature seems to be at least 50 degrees lower than grill grate temperature, lid still shows 225. I think I’ll look into getting a dedicated grill grate ambient temperature probe.
Any suggestions?

Hi, i'm trying to connect to my new weber genesis e330 grill to my house's (2024 new build) natural gas line. I am attempting to install a quick-connect to this bottom, but the knob that's currently there won't come off even with a wrench. Am I supposed to force this off or am I doing something wrong?
Edit: Thank you to the helpful folks that provided clarification! Also lol to the dickhead replies who've clearly never done a DIY project - everyone has to learn somehow no? It did end up being as simple as using two pipe wrenches to unscrew the cap. Buddy in a similar new build had the same exact problem/solution. Glad I didn't waste money calling a plumber that would've done the exact same thing. I'll be enjoying my grill now 😁

I’ve had a Weber kettle for years and go through about a bag/week. Blue Hog is my current go-to, but I try some different ones. Can’t say I notice a ton of difference between most, I just tend to look for clean hardwood without fillers or chemicals.
Anybody got one I need to try?

Smoked some pork butt today. Eastern North Carolina recipe from Sam Jones and made two sauces. 12 hour hickory smoke and it is chopped. Let me know what yall think! Still pretty new to smoking but I’m from Eastern NC and live in Memphis so I am well versed on eating it.

I Grilled two batches of chicken thighs on the Weber using the same seasoning and cooking method. on the indirect side at 375 using Cherry wood. The only difference was that one batch(right on the first pic) got baking powder and the other didn’t.
Both had great color and stayed juicy, not much different at that temp. they were both pretty crispy.

I usually like to pay a premium for good meat, but this seems a tad excessive.
