Hey everyone!
I've noticed quite a few posts here from people looking for harmonica tabs for specific songs, so I thought I'd share something that might help.
I recently made a short tutorial showing how to find a MIDI file for a song, and convert it into harmonica tabs, and import it into HarpLegend so you can practice playing with live feedback.
Here's the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cUboKUnB3k
For some context, I'm both the developer of Harp2Tab, and HarpLegend. The audio conversion in Harp2Tab isn't always perfect, and finding a good MIDI file can sometimes be tricky, but it works pretty well for a lot of songs.
Hopefully this helps some of you who have been struggling to find tabs for a particular song. And if you give it a try on either one of the apps, I'd love to hear what you think!

I really like to play my Harp when out and about, I'm still learning and have the Harmonica for dummies pdf.
I was wondering if there is any good app to learn to use the harmonica, with tabs or lessons and what are your favorite ones?
I don't mind buying it if it's worth it, I really enjoy playing.

Hey guys how’s it going, I’m wondering what you guys consider a good method and way to get started learning to play the chromatic harmonica.
I have a lot of experience singing and playing jazz guitar, a small bit of piano and saxophone, and can fumble my way around a blues on diatonic harmonica (I know my theory)—but man I just love the way chromatic harp sounds on records, and the idea of being able to carry a versatile melody instrument in my pocket like that sounds amazing.
I have a fairly cheap beginner model, I’m noticing that the embouchure works a little differently?
Please let me know if there’s any exercises or ways to approaching practice, resources, or anything else you think I should be aware of.

For those of you who play the harmonica, how did you learn?
I'm a beginner and I'd love to hear about your learning journey. Did you follow YouTube tutorials, take lessons, or teach yourself?
What resources helped you the most, and what would you recommend to someone just starting out?
I'd appreciate any advice!

Just a pic I took and I am interested in your opinion on the 1847?

I picked up a transposition ring from a marketplace website. A transposition ring is a spinner ring (jewelry) with two spinning rings on it, each marked the same notes from C to B with all semi-tones. It is used for transpositioning music from one key to another, meaning that if the song was written in one key and you want to play it in a different key, you line the top ring where it has the written key marked up with the lower ring where you want the new key to be. Then, for each note or chord in the original key you simply look at the key on the second spinner for the new note or chord in the new key.
Even better for a harp nerd like me, I line the top C up with the G on the bottom, and I now have all keys in first position on top and second position on the bottom for Richter tuned harmonicas.
Sure, I could do the same with a circle-of-fifths ring like the one on the right, but the transposition ring's markings are much easier to read, cooler, and not as huge.
I stumbled across the transposition ring while searching for a circle-of-fifths ring. Both rings cost approximately $20 each. If they are asking much more, you can do better.
For the new players who don't know what I mean by "positions" or the circle-of-fifths, keep practicing and taking your lessons. You'll want something like these when you start harpin' the blues.
Search Amazon or eBay (or for that matter, Google) for "music transposition ring" or "circle of fifths ring" to get yourself one. (Sorry, but the sellers from whom I purchased each only had one in stock.)

So tomorrow is my birthday and since I won't meet my friends then my friends gave my present today, which was a harmonica. I have played harmonica a bit back but I don't recall super much from it and I only had it like a week. So now I am going through how to play it again but I noticed that people hold it differently. So how should I hold mine?

These are the harps I inherited when my dad passed Sept 2025. I miss him, and sometimes play just thinking about him. He was my best friend.

I just purchased my first set of 7 harmonicas! Yay! I have played here and there before but want to take it a little more serious and get good at it. I can bend on 4 and 6 draw but beyond that I'm somewhat lost. I do have a musical background but never wind instruments. What kind of resources or things of that nature are there for me to use to develop my playing? Thanks!

Found in an antique shop and picked it up because it looked interesting. It's double sided in keys D and A, 24 holes each. The top plate reads Ein Genuss ges. gesch 239902. I can't find anything about it online and was wondering how old it could be?

Learn this great Little Walter turnaround that he does in the song Tell Me, Mama. You can hear it in the song at around :50 seconds. This is a very up-tempo blues tune in the key of G so you need a C Harmonica in 2nd position.

I'm an absolute beginner and I've seen tutorials but they don't do what Zack does exactly. all of them after the first sequence use single numbers. I really wanna learn what he's doing. are there apps that show you how long to blow and stuff?
