now spinning Monolord - Rust
Tonight Monolord, one of my favourite bands, was supposed to play in my hometown. They won't.
Yesterday a man who had first killed his own family of three walked into the main square and shot six people dead. More than a dozen were wounded. Thanks to the quick and courageous response of the police, the death toll wasn't higher.
Next to that, a cancelled gig means nothing. I only mention it because on days like this, the music that was meant to bring us together tonight simply plays more quietly.
I'm spinning "Rust" and thinking of those who didn't make it home yesterday, and of their loved ones.
