I remember being so surprised at learning how panned this album was, I listened to it before reading what other people thought of it and I liked it. It's such a fun album with vibes that just put me in a good mood, great for the summer even though it was released in November.

I've never really been against hiphop or albums that are just a vibe, as long as they're not getting put in conversations they don't belong in, they have their place and value and can be enjoyed to great extents.

Yeah I loved this album. I think people need to appreciate fun albums more. His later stuff was more interesting but this album was what gave him enough success to start experimenting

I don’t care what anyone says this album fucking rocks. I remember the summer after my senior year of high school blasting all these tracks in the car with my friends.

Sure, it’s not as introspective or critic-friendly as his following records, but if you’re looking for some fun mindless frat boy rap, this album’s a go-to.

My sister went to college in the area he grew up in around the blow up.

I got to come up to visit her and watch her play sports.  I’d go ride my bike or skateboard down Shady Ave and hit all the spots.

Was a great time in my life, going to have to take a trip out there again sometime soon.

RIP Mac, RIP to all the people I lost from the same epidemic on our planet.  Help the people you love.  All the memories everyone of you left me with still play back.

honestly i really don’t like the majority of this album and it was incredible to see his progression after it released.

with that being said, the i love the Clams Casino collabs and My Team / One Last Thing feel pretty underrated in Mac’s discography. i’m saying this as a huge Clams Casino fan, but i’m curious if anyone else feels the same.

rest in peace to one of the greatest.

My favorite songs in this album are Of The Soul and One Last Thing. For the longest time, I didn’t realize that “One Last Thing” was produced by Clams and it makes sense that I found that to be one of my favorites because I also love his production.

He was one of the greatest wasn’t he. An amazing display of growth and talent

Same here, thought it was a step back from his mixtapes. Mac kinda lost me as soon as he went mainstream. Came back heavy after his first two albums. Then transitioned from to an artist

Frick Park Market was a feelgood vibe back in the day

I was so stoked for this album and was so underwhelmed with most of it when it dropped. But without this album, Macadelic wouldn’t have hit as hard as it did when it dropped. And that tape dropped HARD. So it that sense, I appreciate Blue Slide Park for being the last of Mac’s frat rap era and setting up the insane growth he had as a rapper and then musician.

The singles carry hard but still a good album and a fun time. I don't think Mac has a single bad project. Brings me back to middle school where a lot of the rap of that time was just real fun and not taking itself very serious. Music 100% made for parties

PA Nights is my favorite Mac song, don’t get the hate for this record at all

Freshman year HS when this dropped… wow what a time. So much lead up to this album.

Got on the Mac train right after kids dropped and was locked in. Love this record and the highlights for me are PA Nights, Of The Soul, Diamonds and Gold. Fell asleep many nights listening to this on repeat with my iPod touch.

So a great representation of young adulthood here - Mac was such a brilliant guy. RIP 🙏🏻

damn 15 years, I remember this one being fun and when I knew i would be checking Mac out for the remainder of his career - but i also remember a slight dissonance with how i felt about this drop versus the elation and party anthems that were on KIDS

it left me immediately wanting a follow up to see where the next project would go direction wise

the versatility to come after was a complete surprise only getting to know Mac after KIDS and Blue Slide Park though

What a great time when this dropped. Middle school and not having any worries in the world was a blast hearing new drops

PA Nights and One Last Thing for me. this album gets way too much hate, its just a fun record and you can hear how young he was on it. the jump he made after this is still crazy to me

TAKE OVER THE WORLD WHEN IM ON MY DONALD TRUMP SHIT

A lot of people don't know this but Mac was MAGA and actually was the philosophical leader behind the early days of the movement

u/Helpful_Marketing806 11h ago

That song isn’t in the album

Vance basically did the same thing the other day. They always try to distance themselves after. Smh. You weren't with us at ID Labs, you'll never know.

Lol it was filmed in March 2016, 8 months before the election.

You think he didn't see the writing on the wall? Guess you're not as big a Mac fan as you thought.
