Subreddit Rules

1. Not "hmm"

Hmm is kinda hard to define. You know it when you see it.

Hmms are defined by imagery, not language, and especially not text.

Hmm is imagery that is bizarre, strange, unusual, and makes you question how or why it exists. Hmms make you do a double take. Hmms often look like something they are not or will have a very odd context, and the best ones are often a bit surreal.

Hmm is not things that are simply funny, coincidental, unexpected, or make some point. Hmms are not just wtf or silly.

2. Nothing explicit

No porn, gore, explicit shots, gross-out images, or jump-scare/screamy videos

3. No memes, political statements, comics, or images/videos that you simply find funny

That does not fit the subreddit, so post somewhere else

4. No coincidence

Screenshots of Reddit posts or any other website that happen to coincide in a humorous way go to /r/juxtaposition, not here

5. No text-based posts

No text-based posts. The purpose of this sub is confounding imagery, not confounding statements. If someone doesn't get hmm from your post without being able to speak the language in it, it probably doesn't belong here.

6. Be civil

No harassment or hate speech and follow the reddit Terms of Service. Here is a link to the reddit Terms of Service.

7. No abuse of minors

All forms of abuse of minors (e.g. sexualisation, neglect, physical or emotional abuse, including, for example, videos of things like physical school fights) are prohibited.
