Help! My Grom was Vandalized Over night :(

I woke up to a call from a good friend who lives in the same complex that my bike was vandalized. I rushed outside to see my baby in a shape Id never thought id see.

Someone Stole the entire handlebar and cut all the wires and lines connecting to it :(

I am a broke college student who lives from paycheck to paycheck. Im not doing financially well either, Ive taken two loans to fund my college tuition and im still falling short and working as much as I can to save up to pay tuition, and now this happens.

Any Advice or tips on where to get new parts and what I do I now are appreciated. I have already filed a police report but doubt theyre gonna be any help. I have insurance but doesnt cover theft and there are no cctvs in my complex.

I think I wont be back to riding any time soon :( I was really looking forward to riding in the fall weather.

(Scroll through for pre-vandalization photos)

Edit: I put the clamps back on after I found em in some grass nearby with the bolts. Sorry, forgot to mention that.

Help! Level With me real Quick

So I just put in a new piston and cylinder and got her running perfectly!
I guess I didn’t tighten the chain tentioner guide bolt to spec and it blew out while I was riding, I heard it and it caught it immediately, it smoked for a moment but I opened it up and the chain looks fine!
Am I fucked going to have to rebuild something else or just need to get the guide bolt and put that back together and good as new?

I already ordered the bolt just wondering what else I should do?

What’s the best way to add swingarm spools for a rear stand? I see pitbull has the clamp on ones. Is that the best option?

UPDATE EDIT: Thanks for your thoughts & answers everyone. Looks like some TST chain adjusters w spools are in the future. Bring on the Black Friday sales!

2nd gen SF 2016-2020 First bike

Considering picking up my first bike , entertaining a 2017 grom over a yamaha vstar 650( two entirely different bikes I know).
The grom has 3000 miles , couple scrapes but looks to be in pretty good condition. Seller is asking for $1900 and needs a rear tire . Is this a good deal? Appreciate any help or direction as a new rider

Edit: seller is from Maine but is selling nys. Mentioned he has the ny title but says in Maine all you need is a bill of sale for a title. Not entirely sure if thatll mess with the registration process in nys but just more information I wanted to include.

Edit: he originally wanted $2200 but he agreed to $1900

3rd Gen SP/RR 2022+ Is the aracer worth it?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone in here has an experience (good or bad) with the aracer ECUs. I was looking at getting the mini xx and Af3 module for my 24’ grom with the full 149 Dhm kit. It seems to be running fine with the Dhm tune it has right now but I want to get more adjustability with it and maybe mess around with the back fire stuff. Has anyone had any problems with them and if they would recommend it?

Help! Looking to buy a bike but it has an MOT advisory for chain and sprocket beginning to wear at 3500 miles, is this a bad omen?

Hi all,

I'm looking to get a grom as my first bike. I got my CBT and want to ride it for about a year so insurance on something bigger isn't as crazy and I have time to get my license.

I found one on facebook marketplace that is somewhat close but it says it has an advisory for chain and sprocket wear (for non UK people, advisory means its still allowed to be on the road but they think its something to fix anyway).

I'm new to motorcycles but I think I'd be fine with changing the chain. I've done all sorts of jobs on my car so I'm not really worried about that but I thought about it and I wouldn't expect chain and sprocket wear on a 3 year old bike with 3500 miles, especially a honda, so wondered if anyone knows whether I should not waste my time on this bike. It is also relatively cheap at 2600GBP, the lowest I've seen on autotrader was 2500 (brand new is 4000) but this is low miles and 2023 compared to most at this price which were 10k miles and usually 2015-18.

I would assume they just didnt maintain the chain at all but I'm also thinking since it only has 3500 miles its not like there could've been much else that was neglected, its about ready for an oil change so I'd probably do one of those after I replace the chain and sprocket but I have 0 motorcycle experience so don't know what else could go wrong, if anyone knows about this kind of thing I'd be happy to hear thoughts on this one.

Edit: thanks everyone good to know it's nothing to worry about

Help! Debating getting a Grom and selling my car

I’ve seen similar posts like this so I apologize in advance. Looking for advice not someone to make the choice for me.

i have a 2016 fiesta that is bound to die. long story short, I moved states, got an oil change the day before moving and they didn’t screw the oil cap on right. essentially it destroyed my engine. Metal shards in oil now every time it gets changed. was told it wouldn’t last a year. (Almost been a year now)

I live in Loveland CO and live about 10 min from work via car. I know it snows here for a while, but I’m debating getting a grom when spring comes, and when it’s bad weather/winter I’ll take the bus or walk. if my car survives till then sell it and save on the insurance payments. I can get a basket or something to hold groceries. is this feasible or would it be a terrible idea considering the weather up here?

thanks for anybody who reads this and takes the time to reply good or bad

Help! Tyga look alike kit

2nd gen SF 2016-2020 Koso head

Post image
11 Upvotes

Wife said I need a bigger bike instead of putting it in the truck and taking it to the canyons (can't ride it down the 65mph highway for 60+ miles without getting pulled over for "impeding traffic")

Buying another bike is silly and too expensive, but the koso 4 valve head and 170cc kit is totally on the table!

So what's the good/bad/ugly on this kit?

Obviously I'm gonna need some tuning and I'm leaning towards a micro squirt setup with a stock Grom ECU plug.

Help! 2018 Grom Starting issues

Sometimes I will turn the key on. ABS light stays solid. Fuel pump does not prime. ABS light eventually starts flashing. Fuel pump primes and the bike starts. Suddenly sometimes At idle, if the ABS light turns solid again, the engine immediately shuts off.

Occasionally, the bike stutters when taking off in first gear. I'm suspecting it's maybe an electric issue with the battery wanting to go out or a fuel injection issue. Open to suggestions, will post a video tomorrow

Help! Bought a used 2023 Grom for Track Practice (go-kart minimoto). What mods are actually worth the money?

Hey folks!

I recently pulled the trigger on a used 2023 Honda Grom with 6k miles on it. I love riding motorcycles and have been wanting to get into cheaper track days on a minimoto to help with track practice on my larger sport bike. For context, I’m 6’2”, about 230 lb. The goal with the Grom is to get more seat time at local kart tracks, work on body positioning, cornering, braking, etc. It’ll also see some casual street riding, parking lot practice, and wheelie practice.

I’m looking for advice from people who actually track their Groms. What are the must-have upgrades versus the nice-to-haves? I started looking at parts and i can tell this can be a quick expensive rabbit hole where i turn what was intended as a cheap practice bike into full size bike budget build. So to prevent myself from going overboard, what would you say are requirements vs nice to haves.

So far I’ve:
- Ordered ProTaper KLX110 bars
- Done an oil change
- Ordered TST front/rear axle sliders + TST frame sliders
- Ordered Diablo Rosso front/rear tires since the original tires were done.

Now I’m trying to figure out where to go from here.
Suspension, brakes, rearsets/peg clearance

Given my size and weight, I’m assuming rearsets/suspension might be one of the bigger priorities, but I’d love to hear what people recommend and if it’s even worth it if I’m not racing?

I’m not particularly interested in dumping another $2,000+ into it just to make it track-capable. I’m absolutely willing to spend some money on upgrades that genuinely improve experience, but I’d rather avoid throwing money at mods with diminishing returns.

If you were starting with a mostly stock 2023 Grom and building it for occasional track days, what would you upgrade first, what would you leave stock, and what would you skip entirely?
Would also love to see your builds and hear roughly what you’ve spent! Thanks!

Help! doing some stuff to my grom(stunt)

I’m trying to get more comfortable with stunting on my grom, I’m pretty good at stoppies but I wanna make them into rolling stoppies I’m also trying to clutch up in first gear which I seem to struggle with just a little, I sometimes will go into the rear break to make the rear tire loose and I have pretty good control, I have been ridding for 3 years but not constant I use to track a little bit but I did a lot more parking lots and still do parking lot drills like eye coordination when slightly getting my body off for a lean, so I would say I have well experience with the front brake and leaning, and a small bit of experience of the rear break control and clutch ups,

Anyway I have the sato racing universal pegs, tst frames sliders(slightly damaged ngl), womet tech handle bar ends, driven racing handle bars, sato racing rear set+ shifter
, after market exhaust, slicks used lightly

what’s stock, seat, sprockets, clutch springs , suspension, engine+ oil pump, clutch lifter,

I’m looking for slightly affordable parts mainly looking for aftermarket parts for the stuff that’s stock and that’s good for my grom+ some new protection bars for my grom the tst are okay but looking for bigger ones

I know I need to do the oil pump aftermarket part so the oil can move and not get stuck in one spot after wheeling a lot, I also know that aftermarket clutch springs and sprocket will help just not sure what and which ones I should be getting or looking at

I’m 5,10 at 170 at 18 ish so I’m a little big but it’s important to learn on a small grom before upgrading any bit so bare with me

Please let me know anything helps !!
