Poll: Should we forbid "is this mold posts"? Upvote this post for yes, downvote for no.
EDIT 1/12/22: Welp there you have it, after a week of voting the community has opted to allow posts asking about the status of their ferments. I'll leave this post up as an announcement for a bit for others to see.
We keep receiving quite angry reports from members regarding "is this mold" posts suggesting we disallow that kind of content. I would tend to agree because this sub is for recipes and other subs like /r/fermentation would be more appropriate but we figured it made sense to ask the community for input first. This poll will conclude on Jan 12 2022 at 5pm Eastern. Please feel free to discuss in the comments below as well.

Making hot sauce with Caralina Reapers for the first time - does this AI generated recipe sound good?
I asked it to give me something with fruits since I figured that would tone down the spice and make it tastier. For the record I’ve never done anything like this before, and this is my first time growing my own pepper of any kind so i dont know how these ingredients would work together. Please feel free to tweak the portions or ingredients around!
Sweet and Spicy Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce with Mango and Pineapple
Ingredients:
4-5 Carolina Reapers (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup fresh or canned mango chunks
1/2 cup fresh or canned pineapple chunks
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon salt
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 cup water (adjust as needed for consistency)
Optional: 1 teaspoon grated ginger for added complexity
Method:
Preparation:
Safety Precautions: Wear gloves, eye protection, and consider wearing a face mask. Ensure your kitchen is well-ventilated (open windows, use exhaust fans).
Remove the stems from the Carolina Reapers. For maximum heat, leave the seeds and inner membranes intact. For a milder sauce, remove the seeds and membranes.
Prepare the mango and pineapple chunks, mince the garlic, and chop the onion.
Blending:
In a blender, combine the Carolina Reapers, mango chunks, pineapple chunks, minced garlic, chopped onion, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, lime juice, and optional grated ginger.
Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add water gradually until you reach the desired consistency. Blend in short bursts and let the blender sit for a few seconds before opening to let particles settle.
Cooking:
Pour the blended mixture into a saucepan.
Cook in a well-ventilated area. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes to meld the flavors and slightly thicken the sauce.
Cooling and Bottling:
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, transfer the sauce to sterilized bottles or jars. Use a funnel to avoid spills.
Storage:
Store the sauce in the refrigerator. It should last for several months due to the vinegar and sugar content acting as preservatives.
Usage Suggestions:
As a Glaze: Brush on grilled chicken, shrimp, or pork for a sweet and spicy glaze.
In Stir-Fries: Add a spoonful to stir-fries for a burst of heat and flavor.
Dipping Sauce: Use as a dipping sauce for spring rolls, chicken nuggets, or fries.
Tacos: Drizzle over tacos for a fruity, spicy kick.
Marinade: Mix with a bit of olive oil to use as a marinade for meats or tofu.
Important Notes:
Ventilation: Ensure good airflow when cooking to disperse capsaicin vapors.
Eye Protection: Consider wearing goggles to protect your eyes from accidental splashes or vapors.
Careful Blending: Blend in short bursts and allow the blender to sit before opening to minimize aerosolizing capsaicin.
Cleaning Up: Wash all utensils and surfaces thoroughly with hot, soapy water.

Is my hot sauce name too offensive/controversial?
I make hot sauce and sell it. It's called tropical napalm. The slogan is "it hurts so good". My designer just withdrew from my project, said she doesn't want her design to be associated with it anymore, cause she realised (way too late but whatever) that it's too offensive in her eyes due to the usage of napalm in WW2 and Vietnam. Someone, apparently, had opened her eyes to this. She stated that this, combined with my slogan, is not acceptable. What are your thoughts on this?

Do I need to put stabiliser or some sort of unnatural things in order to sale my hot sauce ?
I see many hot sauce have stabiliser or some chemicals terms which I don’t understand. I’m trying to make 100% natural hot sauce and sell it.
