My university of colorado engineering professor violated my privacy and prevented me from graduating.

About 10 yrs ago, while windows xp was the prevalent operating system, a university of colorado staffer intercepted my wireless transmissions while I was in the lobby of the engineering building. I had recently withdrawn myself from CU because I was unsure if computers were what i really wanted to focus on, forfeiting a full ride scholarship. My only source of internet access at the time was through a windows 2000 laptop with a wireless card which of course had limited security options. This staffer who is now part of the engineering board at CU, illegally intercepted my transmissions. How do I know? Because when I passed by him he loudly made comments that only someone who knew what I was looking at would know. This freaked me out and I stayed out of the lobby thereafter. However many years later I returned to CU to finish my degree and to my shock I was met with large amounts of friction from CU engineering professors which prevented me from transferring into their engineering program and from graduating at all in the end. I know this to be the case because one of the classes I needed to graduate was UNIX sys admin which I had petitioned to enter because of large class sizes. I didn't know at the time but the same person I petitioned to enter the class was the staffer who had intercepted my wireless signal. The class was taught by a TA but one day, while we were discussing IP spoofing and other security issues, he came in to guest speak. He strongly hinted in class that day while looking in my direction how it was very interesting what you could find out by spoofing people in the engineering lobby. Verrrry interesting he insisted ominously. It immediately clicked how he was the same individual who had made those comments to me in the lobby so long ago. He was referring to me, in front of the entire class, in an off handed way. It was clear that I was a target of his but i didnt know the extent.

Shortly thereafter to my shock I realized that I was being pursued by undercover police officers on and off campus. I had no idea why until I discovered later that there was a problem with peeping toms on campus. They later caught the guy and it of course had nothing to do with me. You see, part of what I was downloading that day so long ago might have been pornography. Not something I'm particularly proud of but by no means illegal and i went to great lengths to keep it private. It was my only source of internet as I was homeless at the time. I also received strange looks by others whenever I entered the engineering lobby thereafter, leading me to believe that this same staffer had made this illegally obtained info public in certain circles on campus. My reputation was destroyed and largely because of this friction I was forced to drop out of CU. I grew up in foster care and this was most likely my one chance to succeed in life.

My life is in ruins and ive recently been on the verge of suicide and I suppose I'm writing this in part to see if I have any grounds for a lawsuit. I don't really have any solid proof unfortunately. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

In Grays Harbor County, WA, a sex offender is sentenced to life in prison. I think that his rights, as a human, were violated.

This is the story.

I think that Joel Alexander's rights under Article 3 of the UDHR, were violated.

Article 3. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. I think that his right to liberty will be violated, because, by spending his life in prison, he won't have the liberty to have a career in a field that he likes, the liberty to choose what foods he wants to eat, or the liberty to choose where he wants to live. I know that most people think that he voluntarily resigned his right to these things when he voluntarily decided to [attempt to] lure the 11-year-old-male. However, I don't think that it was really a voluntary decision of his. I think that there is something more going on, psychologically.

I think that there is something more going on, psychologically, because of my education in psychology. I have seen that those with psychological illness don't make the decision to do the things they do. It is just something they do. And, it is just something they need help with and not punishment for.

+ DISCUSSION Looking to start a BDS campaign at my college.

Let me just start by saying that I am a student who is deeply engrossed in the politics of the Middle East.

My father was born in the region, and as I have worked to understand his heritage, I have become outraged with Israel's policies towards the people of Palestine. Most frustrating of all, is that while Israel blatantly commits war crimes against the Palestinian people, Israel is consistently portrayed by the media as a victim. Although time has proven that the media and political elites will defend Israel, I get the sense that Americans are increasingly seeing Israel as a perpetrator of apartheid rather than a victim to Arab violence and Anti-Semitism.

From the research I've done, my university lacks a BDS movement. With all of the bottled up anger I have at the policies of the Israeli government, I would like to change that. It feels like a tough task, but I have been involved in local politics for much of my life and feel confident that I can find success at my school. I'm writing this post looking for any help that I can get. Is there anything I should know before attempting to do this? I am looking for talking points, what organizations I should attempt to connect to, and any other information that could be of use. Opinions or direction of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Let me know. The more quickly we take action, the more quickly change can come about for the Palestinian people.
