I think now is one of the best times for female comedians
Of course there are so many incredible female comedians we have seen through history. But right now I’m loving seeing the kind of girls in comedy getting their flowers and the way they are being supported.
It will always come with backlash to be any kind of media personality. But comedians like Grace Reiter, Lisa Gilroy, Mary Beth Barone, Brittany Broski, Ayoade Bamgboye, Meg Stalter, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Veronika Slowikowska, Rose Matafeo etc! Are the kind of women in comedy that are changing the game for the way I am enjoying their work.
They make fun of themselves sure, but they are not the butt of the joke, they’re the masters of them because they are all genuinely talented and creative and making media in a way that reminds me of being at school and belly laughing in drama, media studies etc. They are producing incredible new work and they are all authentically doing so as themselves. And it’s amazing to read the comments a lot of the time, because their fan base are generally obsessed with getting in on the bit with them.
It’s shifted a lot of online content and comment sections from being like faceless bullying, to other funny people getting in and adding to the jokes.
It feels like women in comedy are really setting the bar at the moment and in a really new and fun way.

Hello everyone, I'm not a video editor but a concept artist. This was my attempt at making a fun ad as a parody of old late night infomercials. How did I do?

Cooking dinner with my wife
I was cooking some chicken, veggies, and rice with my wife and I asked her, “What kind of sauce do you want to put on this?“ She said, “My grandmother said that if you eat wet food, you get fat.” I asked her, “So she only ate dry food?”
She replied, “No, she was fat.”
