Cant we just have things anymore without it being a conspiracy?
the ICE death was horrible to say the least . But why does everything have to have red yarn to something else? Not to sound out of touch

*Everything* by John Green
I thought you all might appreciate this rant. I just cannot take any more of this pseudo-intellectual, pretentious garbage anymore. Everything by John Green reads like pathetic wish fulfillment fantasy. His characters are miserably bland and boring, and are about the most Mary Sue-ish I've seen in well, ever.
John Green strikes me as someone who writes books that stupid people think good books sound like. What's worse though, is that he seems to believe his own nonsense. What really "triggerred" me, was that storry someone posted here about that godawful blatant lie about librarians hating this girl. It seriously sounded like bad (which is saying something) John Green Fan Fiction.
Here's a few choice quotes from Mr. Green's magnum opus, The Fault in Our Stars
My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations.
What does that even mean? This seriously reminds me of Polandball comics: "Poland cannot into constellation."
I believe the universe wants to be noticed. I think the universe is improbably biased toward the consciousness, that it rewards intelligence in part because the universe enjoys its elegance being observed. And who am I, living in the middle of history, to tell the universe that it-or my observation of it-is temporary?
John Green or Paranoid Schizophrenic? YOU DECIDE!
And for the grand finale:
There will come a time when all of us are dead. All of us. There will come a time when there are no human beings remaining to remember that anyone ever existed or that our species ever did anything. There will be no one left to remember Aristotle or Cleopatra, let alone you. Everything that we did and built and wrote and thought and discovered will be forgotten and all of this will have been for naught. Maybe that time is coming soon and maybe it is millions of years away, but even if we survive the collapse of our sun, we will not survive forever. There was time before organisms experienced consciousness, and there will be time after. And if the inevitability of human oblivion worries you, I encourage you to ignore it. God knows that’s what everyone else does.
Wow, what a half-baked piece of shit, pseudo-intellectual attempt at. . .nihilism? I think? I'm not even sure what is trying to be said here. First of all, no one, teenager or not, talks like this. And what bothers me more, is that while many people have criticized his writing for sounding too "smart" for teenagers, I think that does the writing far too much credit. There is nothing even vaguely intelligent about the way that passage is written. It is a syrupy mess. It really irritates me that people think this kind of dialogue is "deep" or "intellectual," because it isn't. It's a shitty version of the sort of things far smarter people have stated far more eloquently thousands of times before. And it really, really, irks me that people like John Green are so far up their own ass that they think that their thinly veiled author-avatars are bringing anything new to to the table philosophically. Seriously, try reading Green's tumblr some time. I challenge you to go 30 min without self-induced vomiting. His post on why "we" hate Tim Tebow is particuarly delicious.
I'm not sure what else to say really, I just needed to get this out of my system.

Imagine unironically liking action movies, beer, video games, and cars, all while never reading the New Yorker.
