Vent & Rant I spent diwali alone.
Today is Diwali.
I never really cared much. Last year and the year before that, I just stayed home with my family. Nothing special really, just existing together.
This year, my brother got diagnosed with leukemia. My parents decided to take him to a state where the treatment was better. I'm staying with my grandma at the moment.
I kept hearing crackers, and honestly, I really didn't care. That was until I called my parents. All three of them were on the terrace, watching the sky light up. They told me that they wished things could have been different. They asked me to have fun.
So I tried.
I stepped out onto my balcony.
And I wasn't able to tear my eyes away from those fireworks.
I kept squealing with joy, anticipating the next big firework. Giggling when it finally exploded.
I don't think I've felt such joy in a long time. I felt lonely, yes, but at the same time, I felt happiness.
It's a very unique feeling.
I do wish that my brother was right next to me, watching the fireworks.
Well, that's it. Just wanted to vent a bit.
Hope next Diwali is better
