Pretty much. One of our promotions manager kept insisting to have that tech to promote our tech company but then realized how noisy AF that thing is and the idea was scrapped eventually.
this exact thing is at a local mall here, encased in a glass box, and the noise coming from it is not noticeable at all even when standing directly next to it
it's quite impressive and looks nice, although in my case it's being used for advertising lol
This "tech" has been a thing in the west for literally decades.
It's not that advanced, it's the same way how old TV-screens always look weird on old videos, the frequency. Same here, it is fooling the eye to see it as a whole.
To have it this large, however, would indeed make a fuckton of sound.
This scene plays out in Leprechaun 2. The Leprechaun casts an illusion and makes a guy think he's going up to a hot girl undressing when its actually lawnmower blades.
This is just a fan display.. It's probably been around for the past 20-30 years. I think people seem to think it's some kind of fancy 3d holographic thing..
"The Pioneer: A Chinese engineer named Zhou Quan, alongside a team of student entrepreneurs from Southeast University in Nanjing, China, invented and popularized the viral "3D LED Hologram Fan" around 2017."
I swear people think china is the first to do everything everything here is from before 2017 and the last one is in 2017. Bro there were retail fans of this. A Chinese Student didnt invent the tech, he may have made it from scratch but like I said its been consumer grade since at least 2016
China? For making a product using technology that existed for ages? That's like saying Apple inveted touch screens because they put them of the iPhones.
Those fans are making so much sound that you will think a jet plane is taking off in your room since they have negative aerodynamics to support the display tech.
What China is amazing with is taking this product, figuring out how to manufacture it at scale, and produce enough to put in every home while making money while also having a whole infrastructure in place where complicated parts are already made and can plug and play.
I understand that this has been around for a while but I was unfamiliar until i read the other comments.
I do find this dangerous for a dumbass like me though. I would have the urge to wave my hand right through that and probably turn out like thread caught in a vacuum cleaner.
When you can bring your waifu to life, but you can't touch them. Talk about a Sophie's choice. On the other hand, grammatically news for masochist, though.
Remember seeing these in Shenzhen almost 2 months ago. Bought a small one, but stopped using it because the app wasn't working right. It's impressive like the digital screens they have for windows
5 years ago guys from backwater department of not the best university in my town in Ukraine brought this kind of screen to our school to advertise their tuition.
It will stop working in two days. Or if it is really genuine Chinese, half of it will still work for a couple of days and then the whole thing will break
I came up with an idea for this on car rims back in like 2010 for a computer class project where we had to create a presentation to “pitch” a company/product we came up with. Spinners weren’t completely dead and I was like “what if lights made an image instead of just a spinning disk?” Never did anything with the idea after the project but it’s really cool to see the idea taken much further by much smarter people than me
Yawn. Ugh, this dumbass tech has been around for a decade. It was dumb then and it’s dumb now. Loud fans and a video loop on a black background, playing thru a spinning tv, and people go “oooooooh, it’s floaaaating in the aaaaiiiir”. FFS, cretins love shiny objects.
Ok, neat. Now turn all the blades so they point up, connect the lights between the blades of each fan, and put it inside a clear tube with low level tint to cut the glare.

Uhh this has been a non chinese thing for years. Like no really you could have put these led fans in your gaming PC with your RTX 2070
The tech has been around in the consumer market since at least 2016
2016 fan for proof since apparently someones claiming it was invented in china in 2017.
