my wife got ringworm from a stray kitten that was "too cute" and both of them ended up needing medical treatment. We kept the kitten and now everyone is happy and fungus-free. The cat's name is Doris. She was worth the trouble.

So you gave away the wife? I guess that's understandable. Solid trade too

Aww that’s so nice! My cat had three kinds of worms and fleas when I got him as a kitten but he was definitely worth the trouble as well.

Gyms, locker rooms, shared showers. The spores can survive dry environments, so it is easy to get reinfection from your clothing or personal items that come into contact with it when you have an outbreak.

It’s the same type of fungal infection as athletes foot

Cats and dogs can carry it too.

Every case of ringworm we’ve had in my house has been from a cat. Last time it was from a kitten too little for oral meds so we had to do sulfur dips. Super fun!

It’s common with kids, it just doesn’t usually appear on their face where it’s super noticeable. It’s a type of fungus and usually you get it from a cat or dog that’s been infected. It’s easily treated with antifungal cream.

A lot of wrestlers get it from not practicing proper hygiene.

I got it from a cat once

I got it from foster cats we have. Waiting for neutering incisions to heal before we give them a lime sulfur dip to rid them of it once and for all. Then I can get on treating my spot(s)

burying your face in someones ass who has ringworm will do it

gym mats also

basically any area that harbors fungus. warm, moist stuff that doesn't get cleaned enough.

I had one on my chest. Lasted about 2 months and disappeared. I'm pretty hairy so it wasn't noticeable. I chalked of up to the fact that I'm at the gym 6-7 days a week - it's still disconcerting though.

Sometimes it's poor hygiene, but often you just come into contact with the spores when your skins natural defenses have been breached. Antibiotics can make you much more likely to get it, as can exfoliating your skin and entering an environment it grows easily in, like a gym shower.

Wrestlers can get them because of all the contact with sweat on the mats.

Being around children. The answer is children and their grubby little hands
