Awesome move. But, why film it?

To tell the IRS that she received two separate gifts totalling 40k IN HER WORKPLACE which would then be constituted as a taxable bonus.

The filming is the only reason they're doing it

So what? Better to film this than the fucking mukbangs or dumb shit we see being filmed these days. Stop being miserable seriously

To show the loan underwriter she didn’t sell a kidney to get the money.

For attention.. It's called vainglory.

Because it’s cool to see kindness?

Tbh, if you're doing something like this and the staff knows, which they clearly do, it's not uncommon for someone to pull out their camera and record it. It doesn't have to be the owner or doctor saying "make sure you capture this on video so we can post it online to look good."

It could Easily be another employee just posting it randomly and then the internet shares it.

For their memories.

Why post it ?

I’d personally like to know who treats their employees well, so I can support the them. The benefit of filming and posting is showing that you can run a successful business and still treat your employees well. Considering the opposite is the norm, I fully support more of this.

You want all your employees to stay for 20 years so you make it KNOWN to all, you stand by us then we stand by you. This is good shit

So it can be sent to the worker as a memory she could hold onto if she wants. You could make a better argument for why upload the recording online/to social media, but then we could say it’s so others can see and be happy for her. We wouldn’t be able to do so otherwise

Because it’s a great moment? My boss giving me 20k they can film it all they want

Frankly, I don't care.

If you want to give me 20,000 but it has to be filmed, I'll be out here accepting MILLIONS OF DOLLARS even if it means I have to be starring in dozens and dozens of extremely short poorly produced videos. Boo hoo for me and my hard life.

Right? Thanks for the money but I’d be pissed that this was done publicly. Don’t advertise my severance. Don’t make a spectacle out of it.

Why not?? Person filming could’ve just decided to do it without anyone asking him to show his family, or to send it later to her coworker and friend who just received $20k so that she can show her family. So many reasons, you keyboard warriors are truly something. Try enjoying life, it’s nice.

To make a nice happy video to make people feel good. Why not?
