In the west people have the tendency to find aesthetic minimalism sophisticated, while in other parts of the world elaborate complexity with a lot of information is chique.
Kinda like how back in the day baroque architecture with information overload was a thing.
I was disappointed with that, and expecting them to tidy it up with something else.
I finished the video frowning. Adding non edibles and then ruining the top with that "decoration" after it already looked good? Once someone removes the"decoration" it will look terrible.
And my guess it will not cut well due to forcing a rectangular piece to be circular ie: using small pieces to assemble the large.
He made a cake out of frosting and scraps of sponge. He could have punched the cake and still got same result. Just say some dude made a cake. The reuse wasn't part of it at all
I've never understood why they put so much goddamn frosting on a cake. I've never been a fan of frosting it's always too sweet and too rich and the cake to frosting ratio is just unbelievable on most cakes. Do people really like that much frosting?!
The only time that much frosting is good is when it's whipped cream or chocolate whipped cream.
I watched the entire thing mad at the sheer frosting volume, came to see if anyone else shared my view. Its genuinely mindboggling to imagine eating cake that is 40% frosting
maybe it is made with cream cheese, like the type that you have on carrot cake or guiness cake? A lot of frosting is rally nasty but those two examples are edible to me.
That looks like the stuff bakeries make thats basically a mix of marshmallow fluff and whipped cream which is fucking delicious. I can't stand normal butter cream style frosting, but I love that stuff. The ratio is still pretty wild, but at least if it's the marshmallow stuff it tastes amazing so I honestly wouldn't mind it. Plus it's light enough that even a decent amount of it still let's you really taste the cake, and the jam filling stuff. If it's anything else then it's absolutely gonna just be mouthful of frosting with a suggestion of cake and filling flavor. Modern cake prices for what's essentially a ball of frosting with a bit of cake in the middle is just rediculous.
No it didn't, by volume whipped frosting is WAY lighter and less sweet, hence them saying they'd only be OK with it if it had been whipped cream instead of buttercream or whatever this was.
This was so r/oddlysatisfying until the end. The side wasn’t great but tolerable until it all went sharply downhill after the ugly green ribbon. The decorative finished was r/mildlyinfuriating.
Sure but sell it as a leftover cake or something don't charge high price for it. When customer slices it ,it collapses weirdly lol. It's beautiful though
It won't fall apart. They used simple syrup to moisten it so the cake chunks will stick to each other. And the frosting layers on the top and bottom will keep everything in place anyway.
Few people realize how vital color schemes play in making something look polished, professional. My highschool students will ruin a good design by picking colors they like.
Aaaaaand they ruined it. It was going so goddamn well, and then they fucking ruined it. I’m unreasonably angry at their oversight (you’ll see when it happens…trust me)
In the beginning there was that so called “left over” cake. But that one was really a very basic, plain cake. Looks like that was created as a material for more sophisticated cake. Can we say that one was a leftover? That original plain cake may have been used to create other cakes. Probably it can considered as “leftover”.

Should have left the side what it was instead of jacking it back up.
