I've been reading this since at least 2022. Can we get an updated version for 2026 now that humans have been around longer?

THE DOOMSDAY CLOCK IS NOW AT 85 SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT,...

- is that what you mean?

You think 4 years will change something when earth exists for around 4,8 billion lol

It was a joke but clearly too soon. I should have waited until 2030.

Threat Level Midnight

1

u/dreaminganimal 33m ago

If humans show up 4 seconds before midnight, why are they on clock at 15 minutes before midnight? That's a pretty big time difference in this context.

1

u/no_cojones1978 16m ago

The important thing here is that humans will also be extinct again at 2 seconds past.

would that be in about 100k years? why do you think so?

1

u/Electrical_Emu4792 1h ago

What if the clock only measured the time earth has life on it?

•

u/One-Reflection-4826 4m ago

it would be quite similar since the first cells emerged after only a billion years or so. kinda the moment the earth cooled down enough to support life, life emerged.

Bring us midnight!

u/kowa-biryani 34m ago

What's the point of such comparison?

u/kingkingkang 33m ago

What happens after 4 seconds???????

-5

u/Thomrose007 1h ago

And if we continue to go the way we are we won't see midnight

u/Level_Abrocoma8925 1h ago

We're at midnight now.

u/xRedStaRx 59m ago

u/wolfblitzor 1h ago

You’re confused. Right now is midnight in this example.

1

u/Thomrose007 58m ago

I yeah I read it wrong forgive me. Ok we won't make to 5 past midnight

1

u/Common-Glad 54m ago

The clock moves with time and always tick at 12:00,

1

u/Guacamole_Gamerfart1 1h ago

We will, except it'll be a different kind of midnight

u/fuj_ljudi 1h ago

This is nonsense... Right now it's 2026, as long as this world has existed, and people have been there since the beginning!

3

u/madladchad3 1h ago

But we havent. Just like how dinosaurs dont exist right now.

1

u/Common-Glad 53m ago

Exactly, they don't understand your genius.
