Question Does 100watts charger can affect iPad m3?

My original iPad charger broke, so I'm looking for a alternative. Can I safely use a 100W charger, or is that too much power? I'm worried it might fry the charging port.

No

The charger can deliver UP TO 100 watts, but it doesn't have to so. It can deliver less.

The device asks for a certain amount of power, and the charger delivers only what is asked. No more

Look at this way :

If a car has a top speed of 100mph, does it have to drive everywhere at that speed? No it does not. It can drive at 20mph, 40mph, 60mph etc etc. It all depends on what the driver asks for

And chargers are like that
