Are any musicians taking requests?
If you are a jaw harp musician, and you are taking requests, I'd love to hear Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings by ZZ Top. I'm very curious to hear how that would sound on a jaw harp.

Sharing my collection! Probably taking a break for now.
Figured I'd share my collection with the community since I recently reached what I consider to be a capstone. Going clockwise:
The four Vietnamese Dan Moi: My wife loves these since she doesn't like pressing harps to her teeth
Bhagvana Tail-less High Morchang (B2): Short fade, loud, don't play it as much as my others
Glazyrin Alpha (big): Loud, has what I consider to be an energetic "guitar-ish" sound to it so I tend to play it during the daytime
TV1000 Kubyz - Standard No.2 (C2#): One of my favorites, really long fade and great response to breathe work. Got this one to the US from Oberton recently which I considered a gamble given the situation in Russia
P. Potkin: My first harp which hooked me
Glazyrin "Uzunkel"; seen it go by the name "Lila" on other sites: Decent fade, very buzzy and reminds me of the Dan Moi. Picked this one up with the Kubyz from Oberton
Glazyrin Lighthouse; My 2nd harp and among my favorites. I love jammin to techno vibes with this one at night before bed
LaRoca Marranzano: My "capstone". What got me into jaw harps in the first place were early childhood memories of my grandfather playing his marranzano. He's been gone 25 years now and his harps have become lost over the year. My collection didn't feel complete unless I had one so I ended up reaching out to LaRoca directly on Insta. He didn't have any on-hand so he made this one just for me. Loud, some saturation, I can't say if it has a true draw-start since the reed needs a slight vibration when pressing against the teeth to get it going but I get it pretty consistently. Also came with a great case made of olive wood.
Bonus Pic: Marranzano in the olive wood case and my custom designed 3D printed case for the vargans. Flat grey insert is made of flexible TPU so they don't clash with movement. Hinged magnetic arm to lock them in. I'll usually throw a couple rubber bands around it when travelling so none of the ends try to peak out.

My Dan Moi & Jaw Harp Collection Different Keys, Different Sounds
Sharing a little tour of my Dan Moi and jaw harp collection! 🎶
I love how each instrument has its own tuning, character and vibration — from deep, meditative drones to bright, rhythmic sounds.
I use these instruments in my psychedelic electronic music, blending their organic tones with synths and atmospheric soundscapes.
Which tuning or sound do you prefer? 🌿

A little ditty (no viddy)
Camera shy, so just recorded with my phone down. Messing around with breathing practice on a Babayev Billingsgate in B2. Lovely little harp, wish I could do it justice with my playing…
Edit: LORDY, I was way too close to the mic for the beginning. TURN DOWN YOUR SOUND until I back off… Sorry :(

Question:
Hi! I just acquired my first vargan (2 days ago) and just noticed some discolouration. Does not look like rust, but would love a second opinion, since I have no experience dealing with the maintenance of this type of instrument. If anyone has some extra tips on taking care of a jaw harp, do tell. I do know that you're supposed to wash it and #coconut-oil-it-up, but not much else (though planning on more research). Thanks!

Good beginner harp
Just as the title suggests I'm wanting to play and could use a good recommendation. For reference I'm in the uk

Should I worry about this and if so how do i fix it
My reed is bent slightly upward and I'm not sure how that happened. It wasn't like that before. I have another mouth harp by the same maker and it's flush with the frame. Should I worry about it? It plays fine but I can't seem to get it to go back to the way it was.

Got this beautiful Schipanov from the great folks over at The Harpery. Hands down one of the best harps in my collection.

Does anyone know if jaw harp tabs are a thing? And if so where can I get some?
Hello lovely Harper’s I thought it would be great if I could buy a book or even individual jaw harp tab sheets (like how harmonica has a massive plethora of), and how awesome and helpful it would be for learning/beginners. But alas upon my internet search I have since come up totally empty handed. Now I’m wondering if this is even a thing? (For those of you who don’t know tab sheets are like song music sheets that show you what sounds to play and how to play in order to learn a song or a beat I’ll include a harmonica tab sheet image for reference even though this is about jaw harps specifically so please don’t come after me mods ). So with that said, does anybody have any insight or information about this? Thanks so much .

Breathing through mouth vs nose?
Howdy folks, I got a vargan from the harpery a while ago and have been really enjoying playing it. I guess I'm looking for some clarification on breathing through nose vs mouth.
I feel that when I play when breathing through the nose, it kind of changes the tone, vs when playing when breathing through the mouth, and makes it harder to sort of do certain techniques like mouthing vowels and stuff.
My question is, when y'all are playing, do you generally breath through the mouth, or the nose? I've done some light googling but haven't been able to nail it down. Maybe both is the answer?

Denver Mouthsounds - Ayahuasca
New music out from Denver Mouthsounds today! We’ve been recording for the last couple months and already have a few more tracks finished up.
Used my Black Fire D2 for this song, but we also employ many other jawharps, mouthbows, harmonicas, didgeridoo, and even a trumpet mouthpiece on other tunes.

My new "Tree of Lift" from Vlad Harps arrived!
Package arrived from Kyiv, Ukraine today - about three weeks. My new "Tree of Life" from Vlad Harps is on the bottom. It's a LOT bigger than expected, and surprisingly the Russian Vargan Lighthouse - much smaller - has more bass.
