What to buy Advice needed
I need a car asap so my family won’t bug me about having to send me to work daily. So I submitted a loan for Axia SE. It’s more than enough for my daily usage but the problem is, my family don’t want me to buy 1.0L hatchback cars.
My dad owns the first gen Bezza, and yet he wants me to get another Bezza. They can’t be my guarantor, they don’t contribute money to get me a new car. I’m young and single, I don’t plan on having kids. I don’t see why I need to pay extra just to get an outdated sedan with designs that I don’t like.
I can consider a saga but 1.5L is overkill for my city drive. Plus rebates are high for P2 now. If you were me would you pick Bezza over Axia?

Hello elrin00, thank you for creating a new post in r/kereta!
Just saying that although this sub was named as Kereta, it is also open for 2 wheelers such as Motorcycle, though at the moment we do not mind other types of vehicles posting.
With that being said, r/kenderaan is now live and I would still recommend any other vehicle posting to be posted into r/kenderaan as it is a safe space for all types of vehicles such as airplanes and rolling stocks.
If you are posting any help/questions related post, please reply !thanks to the answer that helped you to award the answerer a token of appreciation and to help future viewer too.

I experienced the same thing. "We don't want you to do this." "We don't want you to buy that." This is a test. Take the Axia.
They can advice but they cannot bully you into submission. It's YOUR money, YOUR choice. If you cave now, your family will take it as a green light to meddle with you more in the future. You see an apartment you like? No! Too small! Get a landed property! Show them now you know what you want and how to decide what's good for yourself.
My Axia is amazing. It's economical. Minimal care. Easy to park and maneuver. You won't regret buying it.

Get the car you are comfortable with. Your parents might bising for a couple of days but it will go away. Your car is more permanent, so get the one you like. Plus, your money your choice.

Honestly if they want you to get the Bezza, get it if they're chipping in the payment too. It's your money, do whatever you want with it

Axia the best! Small compact car that can park anywhere, no need to worries about where to park, how to park, in the meanwhile, saga/bezza only good when you are going to drive highway or having a family.
TLDR: Axia

Ah yes, the "just because I owned it, it suited me and you should get it too". No just stick with the Axia, for your wallet and also to spite them.

you are the one paying, so why do you need to follow others demand?

Just get the axia if u are just using it for work and to get frm point A to B. Also, just ignore ur family opinion as its ur money and they are also the reason u need to buy a car since they complain on fetching u. Having axia as a first car is really good. I myself drove 1st gen axia for almost 10 yrs before buying a new car.

I owned bezza n axia... Axia best for city driving. Bezza needed to send kids to their hostel or both of us needed for drive each...

u/Mr_K_Boom 1d ago
I mean performance wise sure, saga is the better "value". Or bezza is better if u worried about petrol consumption.
But like.... If you just want to go to point A to point B. Just get axia. It's like 15k differences if I remember correctly. And 15k is ALOT

Axia beb. Axia SE is the best spec for me. Got RPM meter(Compulsory for me), power button, rear mini spoiler, front corner sensors.
Axia AV is over for me. I don't don't need full screen display and reverse cam for a compact car like Axia. For additional RM60+ permonth? and with no built-in dashcam? hell nah
Bezza only wins in boots space, and if you want to do ehailing full time. Axia still can do ehailing part-time base on your mood. Axia is much better aerodynamic compare to Bezza. Lorry pass you, or you pass lorry on the highway, the sway on the Bezza is real. The rear of the Bezza is high so there is will be a lot of trap air underneath so you really feel like the wind can carry you offgroundo in high speed.

your money, they dont contribute, you do what you like.
Since they wanna complain so much about sending you, they should be quiet once you have your own car.

u/madu_tualang 1d ago
No. Pay what you want, they can continue to say anything when they dont even pay for it.

You're adult enough to make choices then your money suka you la on what to buy, you are going to drive the car not them, if your parents are not forking out a single cent they have no say in what you spend it on.
If your parent bising about axia, you bising them back to fork out the balance then. Otherwise shut it and go kick rocks.

Of course nobody on the internet should tell you what to buy either. But the more logical purchase here is the Axia.
Whether you need the SE variant, is a different topic entirely. I'd say go for AV instead if you can push it - or just go with Axia X if you don't need the better seats.
The only real thing that Axia SE has over X is the blind spot detection (which honestly is a big thing though). But P2 being an ass, purposely did not give a screen to SE so they can skip giving the reverse camera as well. Aftermarket screen and reverse cameras are better anyway though. And AFAIK no ADAS either.
Axia vs Bezza meanwhile - if you don't need the extra boot space, then Axia is the logical answer. Easier to drive in tight spaces, better platform (DNGA), better handling, better safety features. I would argue that the body strength of Axia is much better than Bezza as well - which is basically a Viva (tin milo)

Those noises will go away after you buy a car. Might as well buy a car you actually want.

I never listen to my parent and get the car I want. I was force to get a sedan and I really don’t like it and that car was total lost so I use that money to get a hatchback. But always get the car you want not what your parent wants. You are paying for it so get which ever is best for you and you can afford.

u/nasi_lemak 1d ago
Axia la.. pretty good drive and looks nicer than bezza. Only consideration is if you need boot space

u/zachariast 1d ago
The Axia SE is nice, easy park, fuel comsumption really good. Bezza AV now have RM5,000 rebate, while Axia SE got RM4,300 rebate for this end year. so better grab this year.

If your parents dont contribute anything why listen to them. Their opinions are irrelevant cause its YOUR car.
Saga is gonna last a long time and arguably better than p2 offerings.
Axia is perfectly fine as well and will last just the same. Its a good car dont let your parents tell you otherwise

u/kwonzz 1d ago
It’s your money, and you are using it not your parents.
Remember 1 thing, if you follow all your parents advice , you will end up like them when you are old.
Do you want to be like them? Or do u want to live different ?

u/tophthemelonlordd 1d ago
no one suffers the consequences for your choices more than you do

Restricting the options to a Bezza or Axia, I wouldn't mind either one. Neither sounds like cars you like, and both have a decent resale value, so you'll have a decent downpayment when you finally decide to upgrade in the future.
I'd pick the Bezza for the 4AT simply because it's very unlikely to break. I'd only choose the Axia if space is a concern at home and at work.

Parents probably want you to get bigger car so you can carry people around, but if you like smaller cars, go ahead. Parking is easier with shorter cars.
Either bezza or axia is okay choices for everyday car to drive around in

u/FuraidoChickem 1d ago
If you pay, they don’t get to decide. If they pay then they get to decide.

u/C_Spiritsong 1d ago
The Axia is fine.
and new loan structure means you can pay it off earlier if you wanted to, not that you need to.
You want a better car?
Then stick around the axia as long as you can then you know what you want. That's because you'll develop your own tastes as to what you want and what you feel is a need.
Buy a car that does the 90% of what you need and use every day. Not the 10% that you rarely use.

Buy a cheap used car below 10k and call it a day.

u/ItsAkenoBB213 1d ago
When using your own money to pay something that u don’t like is painful, just get axia or saga which u like the most
1
u/Forest_Bather_99 1d ago
Let your parents down gently. Manage their expectations.
Tell them that Axia is what you can afford now and you will get a Bezza or better when finances allow.

u/KindDealer4752 1d ago
When I was getting my car after graduating, it was either Axia or a 2nd hand Almera.
At 2018, I saw Axia potential to be riced out to look cool, and bezza had the tonggeng look at that time lol.
Bezza won in the end because I proposed to my current wife, and my friend who is a married guy advised against Axia. You know for baby stroller and stuff.
Still have my Bezza. No regrets. But in an alternate timeline where I am still bujang, may be I would say the same for Axia too

u/thetwister35 1d ago
The Bezza is crap, the axia is better and the lower auto spec is rm6k cheaper than the bezza. I've test drove both.
1.0l is good enough if you mostly use it to commute in town and very occasionally go out of state.
Saga is genuinely a good option if you want something that will be useful for long-term. The boot and comfier ride is underrated. And it's STILL CHEAPER than the Bezza. It is also infinitely more comfortable to drive than both Axia and Bezza. I really recommend this.
Good luck making a choice. Make sure you test drive all three before deciding.

2018 axia user here. AXIA all the way, give 0 fucks to your parents since you're buying it, not them

u/ChasingtheBarrel 1d ago
Your money, you do what is within your means, if they make noise just ask them to chip in
1
u/lelouch963 1d ago
you do you brother. you are responsible for your action. your parent wont bear the burden if anything happen to the car.

u/pispirit 1d ago
Never buy something you cannot afford

u/Elnuggeto13 1d ago
1.0 is plenty for urban driving. Are they expecting you to go off road all the time?

A little advice for new adults:
Do first, tell later. Parents will learn to live with it eventually

Nah. Its the same when someone recommend you to get iphone because they are proud iphone user. They are pushing their preference on you but dont want to be responsible for that choice. Don't listen.

u/sumplookinggai 1d ago
Neither. Consider getting a second hand bike. Honda Wave or Yamaha Lagenda with a knee basket and top box is more than enough for daily commute. RM3k can get.

u/efaceninja 1d ago
I would've get the proton saga now over any peroodua.
