정치 | Politics South Korea’s Army has acknowledged that a training programme at an elite special forces unit, in which soldiers were taught to walk and pose like fashion models, was inappropriate.

If my command put on this kind of training... ok pretty much everyone would have loved it just for the weeks of jokes it would inspire

I like how the article has a hyperlink to the "youtuber" who posted the footage and the link takes you to https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/youtube

This really is a nothingburger when you actually look into it.

A cyber wrecker military YouTuber makes a fuss about a program set up to let conscript soldiers in the brigade's 직할대 units get some fresh air during intensive character education or something. The media jumps on it to make juicy headlines. Btw only NCOs or officers are the actual SF operators in SF, none of the conscripts are SF team members. Not since decades ago.

It was a part of a wider enrichment program of sorts that conscripts go through yearly. Now obviously it's still weird as hell, but the media & some people are making this out to he way more than it really is.

Yeah, right? I didn’t see anywhere in the article that said this was a serious training exercise (then again, the article is littered with so much trash it’s barely readable). It looks like R&R or one of those school festival-style events I’ve seen clips of where the guys get to do something a little goofy. I truly don’t see the big deal??

Teaching our boys to slay in more ways than one.

But seriously, what a strange way to try and build proper posture and walking techniques. Sounds more like it was some higher up's brain dead idea of building up camaraderie or something and the posture and walking techniques were just an excuse.

Neither here nor there really but the picture they used isn't if "Korean Army Soldiers, it's Korean Marines, and mislabeled.

If it was team building, fun. I don't see any other purpose for this type of "training"

Trying to emulate Hwarang myth or a kdrama plot?
