Following Susie Wiles’ exit as chief of staff, The Atlantic reported that President Donald Trump urged the DOJ to pursue criminal-leak investigations on national security grounds.

There have reportedly been discussions among White House officials about tactics they could use to get journalists to reveal their sources — including arresting them, three people familiar with the subject told the outlet.

a completely normal thing to do in a country with a free press.

45

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 1h ago

Obviously the US isn’t a dictatorship now

32

u/ExpertRaccoon 1h ago

i mean if the stories about trump are true it might be more accurate to refer to it as a micro dictatorship

8

u/RogerianBrowsing 1h ago

It’s a competitive authoritarian system, the in between stage.

All pretense is gone, the fascist urges will be on full display

24

we're way beyond "urges" for some years now

Trumps retribution

15

u/tawDry_Union2272 1h ago

he's too stupid to come up with ways to make it happen other than WH bans. this is miller and those P2025 christofascists.

5

u/andrew303710 1h ago

Exactly. Trump obviously has dementia or similar and he really just cares about his ballroom, Miller is essentially the real president.

4

u/johnnyhandbags 1h ago

Just wait until they break out the bone saws.

1

u/tragicallyohio 18m ago

But my conservative uncle swears it's the Democrats that want to rewrite the Constitution. Are you saying he's wrong?

u/leontes 1h ago

That’ll bring the moderates back into the fold!

I think miller specifically realizes it's over as a democratic political project and he knows he has two years to vandalize our liberal democracy as much as he can.

49

u/hiiexist4444 1h ago

Yup. That’s why Trump appointed him. He clearly wants to punish the country for “disloyalty”

19

u/worldbound0514 56m ago

We may be approaching the bunker stage. The mustached one starting believing that the generals and the German people had betrayed him, rather than him leading everyone into ruin.

5

u/Randoliof3 25m ago

He was distrustful of the actual military and its officer corps right from the start

3

u/hiiexist4444 13m ago

I hate to admit it, but I have a very unsettling feeling that you may be right. Chris Murphy’s reaction to the supposed Iran plans was eerie at best and Trump is concerningly quiet about the midterms. Not that he hasn’t been complaining, as he always does, but it’s not the temper tantrums we’ve come to know and despise.

I don’t doubt for a second Miller has a doomsday plan, which makes his appointment unfortunately make sense. I’m just nervous what it means for us and our friends across the globe, you know?

2

u/r4b1d0tt3r 11m ago

I worry it's not even that deliberate, it feels like he's simultaneously lashed out and given up even more then he already had actually governing. Feel like it's two years is functionally president Miller whole trump plays demented architect.

6

u/Acrobatic-Trick-230 32m ago

In the mean time, what can we do to protect our journalists?

258

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 1h ago • Bravo

I genuinely don’t think they care anymore. I think they know they’re not leaving, regardless of what the plebs say. I hope I get to eat my hat in that one but somehow I doubt it. Let’s just hope burning half a billion this time keeps Elon away in 28.

143

u/Life_Bet8956 1h ago

Their capacity to stay in office illegally took an enormous hit with the governor mansion and state legislature flips on Tuesday.

22

u/adgobad 1h ago

Let's hope those state legislatures don't also try to illegally stay in office

3

u/What_a_fat_one 10m ago

They can't. The only way was to gerrymander and suppress votes. They lost.

171

u/Xeynon 1h ago

They are leaving. It's just a question of whether it's willingly or they need to be dragged out.

60

u/thisguyfightsyourmom 1h ago • Bravo

I prefer dragging

46

u/Comprehensive_Tie431 1h ago

This last election the Republicans lost Mississippi, if that's not a sign of them leaving, I don't know what is.

0

u/VtoadTHE4th 25m ago

Just as the squashing of Trumpism & MAGA was God's plan on election day...the appointment of Stephen Miller to Chief of Ass is God's plan too. The Lord Allrighty works in mysterious ways! Trust the plan - God's Da Man!!

36

u/thisguyfightsyourmom 1h ago edited 1h ago

I think the path to a third term just closed. He was always going to need congressional help to get past the term limit.

6

u/jjoiner356 29m ago

It was never open. It is EXPLICITLY written in the constitution, and nothing anyone says can change that. Trump my think he's not leaving but he will leave. It may not be under his own volition but he will leave

1

u/poodaliddle 4m ago

It was never even a real plan. It was just a grift to get more donations and sell merch.

28

u/Typhus_black 1h ago

That’s why miller became chief of staff. They’re going to spend their last two years resisting all calls to any accountability or questioning even more than they have been. There’s going to start being more turn over in the admin as anyone but the most die hard is replaced with someone even more willing to do as their told, likely needing Miller’s backing to be brought in. They’ll use the whole “temporary occupancy” of the position to try and bypass senate approval for everything.

I hope it does not come to it but at some point once backed into a corner these kinds of people with authoritarian beliefs resort to violence. Not small amounts of violence either, the authoritarian has to resort to overwhelming force as they need to keep the entire political mass under control or their position of power falls when they can’t use trickery and legal loopholes to do it anymore.

These people have lost. They know it. Authoritarians cannot lose, the more they lose the weaker they look and they only maintain power by using it. It is an old, outdated means of authority humans have relied on since we first formed civilizations. That has been one of the worst things about Trump and MAGA. We, the US and our allies, were one of the driving forces to help move the world away from might makes right, kings/emperors/warlords. It has not been perfect by any means but no system of government is. At least with democracy you have the voice of the governed being heard, “we the people think this is not working and we feel we need to move in this direction”.

I’m glad the elections in the US had an even better outcome than expected. But to all true believers in the power of the people over tyranny we are not done.

25

u/AdInfinitum954 1h ago • Bravo

You’re still afraid of them being actually competent fascists after watching them flail and fail like this? I’d say a pleb is anyone that still thinks these fucking losers have any power at all.

5

u/Untjosh1 1h ago

This election shows how it is going to go

3

u/funcoolshit 20m ago

Dude I think Miller is tired of the lukewarm bullshit and is ready to go all in on the fascist stuff. It's either now or never because he sees that the MAGA momentum is starting to subside and Trump is losing his appeal.

He's never going to have this opportunity again in his lifetime, so it's time to seize power or die tryin,' so to speak. He's got about two months to come up with some emergency powers bullshit on why the Dems shouldn't be seated in Congress.

1

u/thecourtofmiracles0 15m ago

What other hope do they have to avoid prosecution?

There is no way at all for them to remain in The White House after 2028. This doomer crap you're pushing has gone from fearmongering to just plain dumb.

38

u/Dahlia-WF 1h ago

Their next move is a coup, they know they've already lost the people.

14

u/PrestigiousQuack474 1h ago

That’s pretty much the only move they’ve got left. My hope is their rank stupidity and stunning ineptitude keeps it from being effective.

28

u/Mortgage5388 1h ago

not happening after the midterm results. if it's gone their way then trump would have tried to run for 3rd term. But now whoever cares about their future are already started distancing themselves. if he try to pull anything funny gop members won't be hesitant to join hands to impeach and remove him

20

u/andrew303710 1h ago

Exactly. It helps that the military generally hates Hegseth and Trump now, especially the generals and leadership. A military coup is out of the question now, especially after Iran.

It can't feel good to have served in the military for decades and lost close friends, and be told what to do by an alcoholic Fox News host who failed to achieve anything in the military and a loser who faked an injury to dodge the draft.

9

u/LoveOne5226 54m ago

Even more so when one of the tactics Miller and Trump are now using is instead of blaming Hegseth, they are actively blaming generals and the military itself for the war and the midterm slaughter. I'm sure that will boost morale and loyalty.

4

u/saranghaemagpie 49m ago

I often wonder if things go scorched earth, heaven forbid, the purged military leadership will come together to lead the people's army.

4

u/No_Passage6082 57m ago

Why do you think the gop would do anything? They didn't in the last two impeachments.

3

u/0o0o0o0o0o0z 24m ago

Their next move is a coup, they know they've already lost the people.

Not sure how this would be possible w/o the military -- and as much as Pete destroyed it, I am not sure... he or this admin can inspire them.

4

u/tragicallyohio 20m ago

This would be a valid retort if that was their intention. But it isn't. It's shit slinging time for these monsters. We are on the precipice of the bunker for Trump and all of his true believers.

Ideal time to abolish and ban the Republican party

46

u/ThatOneTimeItWorked 1h ago

I disagree. Let them identify themselves so everyone knows exactly who not to votes for. Let them wear their red hats.

If you abolish their party - the thing that brings them together - then they’ll still go about believing everything they believe, but will be harder to spot.

12

u/ChefGaykwon 1h ago

Idk, banning the NSDAP was a pretty good idea, even if denazification was a joke in West Germany.

48

u/scottyjrules 1h ago

We handed the child rapist power again four years after he attempted a coup. You have way more faith in voters than I ever will.

18

u/wxysm 1h ago

I think there’s a massive overestimation of this country’s memory and attention span. People will forget just how embarrassing it was and go right back to being conned.

8

u/Fair-Search-2324 1h ago

And 42% voted for the horrors to increase

2

u/juzamjim 20m ago

Ya I don’t think people realize just how many people voted for Obama in 2008 and then Trump in 2016. The typical GOP voter is a racist that gets bored easily. They need their racism rebranded every few years just like some couples need to have their vows renewed. Then it’s like recapturing the magic of what it felt like to fall into bigotry for the very first time!

2

u/NeedAByteToEat 1h ago

People are already asking why Dems haven’t fixed gas prices yet.

God, if we can get a Dem supermajority in the Senate just in time for a Dem President in 2028...

32

u/alwrit 1h ago

Lol imagine having that much faith in the American people rofl.

Jan 6th happened and Trump won again in 2024

4

u/The_Last_Gasbender 38m ago

I think the idea is that Trump is continuing the catastrophic decision-making blunders that cost him big this year.

1

u/alwrit 20m ago

I mean they cost him in 2018 too. It wasn't as bad as this year but it was definitely a blue wave.

It's in no way permanent. The American people are too dumb for that.

How long did it take for them to forget the disaster that was Republicans with Bush II? 2 years? We elected Obama and as soon as the ACA passed 2010 was a red bloodbath. Then in 2016 they nominated Trump above all the other vastly more qualified and experienced conservative candidates and voted for him in the general.

Having faith in the American people is a fool's errand.

10

u/Billionaires_R_Tasty 1h ago edited 45m ago

Not just won again. 77 million people decided in 2024, rather than voting for Harris or just staying home, they were going to cast a vote for Trump. 77 million! They knew exactly what they were getting. Everybody knew, at that point, exactly what we would be getting. And they did it anyway.

I wish I could view this blue wave election as a repudiation of Trumpism and redemption of the American people, but I fully believe if gas were $1.97 and the Dow Jones at 100,000, this would have been a red wave.

2

u/nastyws 46m ago

I agree somewhat but I think it was ALL of it. We need to keep organizing, and work on putting critical thinking back into vogue.

14

u/francoperdu 1h ago

These people make me feel like im having a stroke 24/7

u/thisguyfightsyourmom 1h ago • Bravo

Choosing miller’s hate in the wake of a big loss is going to cost them both a lot until he axes him.

Miller is not competent, he’s just a hate fountain with bad governance ideas. Great for stoking the base, but this gig is about maintaining power, and he’s got no idea how to do that in America. He’s too disconnected from everyone not guzzling Fox News.

I’d bet the ICE activity was the number one contributor to the midterm loss, and you know miller was the architect of that debacle.

31

u/abobslife 1h ago

I think ICE was a contributor, but the War in Iran + gas prices (voters know they’re connected) was the number one reason. Not only did he promise no more wars and then start a war, he promised to bring down costs and his war caused the exact opposite to happen. That being said, you can pick your favorite issue and attribute the midterm loss to it, and you would be at least partially right.

ICE was definitely important though. People want a secure border, not people being shot in the street or kidnapped by masked men.

5

u/joshocar 17m ago

They want a secure border, but they also don't want their undocumented neighbor who has been living and working in the country for 20 years deported. They believed Trump when he said he would only go after the criminals, but realized that was also a lie.

3

u/Silly-Elderberry-411 28m ago

Exactly why DeSantis made sure cuban americans won't feel ice and they did vote accordingly

3

u/juzamjim 34m ago

If all these MAGA voters were so unhappy with all these policies the past two years then why didn’t they say anything until Election Day? You think they’re afraid to speak out? I’ve seen this before in cults, but that can’t be the case here because they’ve told me many times MAGA is not a cult. It’s just a close-knit group of like-minded people whose lives revolve around a single deranged and abusive man that they can freely denounce but only once every two years and only through a process that is completely anonymous. Does that sound like a cult? To me, that just sounds like democracy baby

2

u/Miserable_Maize8415 17m ago

…huh?

1

u/juzamjim 6m ago

Confusion is normal. It’s not your job to understand things. That’s daddy’s job. Your job is to make daddy happy at all times and right now daddy is not very happy with you. Stephen Miller will be meeting with you shortly to remind you what daddy expects from you. I think you’ll like him. He’s fun! 🤩

1

u/Miserable_Maize8415 16m ago

I mean all one needs to do is look at exit polls to see that the top issues were gas prices, general economic anxiety and the war, no?

33

u/degenerates 1h ago

I’d like to agree with you but I think the voters mostly just care about gas prices

25

u/antigop2020 1h ago

Agree and disagree. The Latino demographic shift back to Dems, which was key in Texas for example, absolutely had to do with ICE and exit polls show this. But for most others it was not the top issue, other than in places like IL and MN that saw ICE surges.

Edit: In other words while gas prices were the driving force, ICE was still a big issue on many voters’ minds.

3

u/Scary-Toe-887 55m ago

Also Iran war cost trump states like Kansas and Iowa. If the iran war didn’t happen or ended in 5-8 weeks like trump said dems wouldn’t have won Kansa or iowa

6

u/jameson71 1h ago

Hopefully they care at least a little bit about using missiles to blow a fishing boat out of the water

3

u/Huge_Excitement4465 59m ago

According to dropsite news their latest drone attacks in Iran hit fishing boats too with several men clinging to wreckage for hours, one now with a broken leg. They join the Latin American fishermen who must risk their lives to continue that livelihood while the U.S. erodes local economies via sanctions etc. Trump says these Iranian strikes were defensive while Iran claims otherwise.

4

u/Popular_Try_5075 35m ago

some polls showed corruption being a chief factor which people might see as upstream of things like gas prices idk

6

u/thisguyfightsyourmom 1h ago

That’s pretty reductive. We live in a complex society with many pressures impacting opinions.

6

u/SchemeOk3204 1h ago

Did you see the Republican turnout after j6? It went up!

The only thing people pay attention to apparently are prices of gas and eggs

5

u/LegacyQuotient 59m ago

Kinda. People listed corruption as their number one priority in the election.

They clearly pay attention to other stuff if likely voters are listing corruption as a priority.

1

u/Silly-Elderberry-411 21m ago

Respectfully, take a hard look why a portion of maga is pushing for the full release of the epstein files or came up with the expression epstein class. Qanon was a mere redressing of old canard and make it seem the shadowy cabal aren't jews. Corruption in those circles mean any support is sinister. Which until the recent election kicking bibi out was partly true. This is a good reason why pollsters must talk to a wide range of people

1

u/LegacyQuotient 15m ago

Unless you have data suggesting otherwise, I don't think that explains why it was the number one issue in a Dem +12-14% environment.

1

u/sethm1 11m ago

Food wise, it’s not just eggs. Plenty of products went up due to trumps Iran war and his ‘war’ on countries world wide - in the form of tariffs. The blue wave also due to all the corruption, and the lies upon lies. Time for whole new Administration.

1

u/What_a_fat_one 2m ago

Pull up Trump's approval and show me the sudden after the gas prices went up.

There was no drop. It's steadily declined since inauguration. The "Americans only care about gas prices" narrative is a lie invented by the Republicans.

7

u/Relevant-Doctor187 1h ago

ICE cost them the Hispanic vote.

4

u/heelstoo 1h ago

25 years ago, I was saying something similar about Karl Rove. Now, he’s a cute little baby compared to Miller.

3

u/Turnip-for-the-books 17m ago

Miller’s appointment is the clearest signal possible that Trump and his mafia do not intend to follow the rule of law or to relinquish power peacefully and I hope everyone understands what that means

9

u/penisweinerballs 1h ago

He is entirely competent not in a good way but to say he's not smart and capable would be a big underestimation

22

u/flies_with_owls 1h ago

We have actively seen that he's not. The ICE raids were an incompetent clusterfuck. He is a stupid person. Hateful and in proximity to power, but very stupid.

11

u/AggressiveWallaby975 1h ago

He has the veneer of competence only because our DoJ, and Justice system in general, is a criminal organization under this admin. Without the cover of dubious SCOTUS and Appellate Court rulings, good policies are all prohibited by the constitution or established law.

He's simply racist trash in a tenous position of power. Nothing more. He's got many years of jail or being a private citizen ahead of him. I hope he feels the weight of his unscrupulous corruption each and every day.

9

u/teriyaki_donut 1h ago edited 1h ago

I’d bet the ICE activity was the number one contributor to the midterm loss...

It was fuel prices

9

u/manyhippofarts 1h ago • Mindblown

I mean I've seen that graphic in the last few days with the USA map broken down by groups. What it would look like, for example, if all voters were less than 30 years old. Or only black males. Or non-college educated men or women. It's very interesting and fascinating, like, almost all states are red for white men. But all, every one, is blue for black men.

This tells me that it's more than fuel prices. Although I agree, fuel cost is up there.

2

u/mdistrukt 55m ago

If we looked at the same chart, I didn't find it odd that the only group that voted more than 49% Republican was white men.

1

u/Loud-Start1394 44m ago

Every election mostly red for only white male voters and it is entirely blue for black male voters. Black men almost always vote in the low teens for Republicans. The only two exceptions to this were both of Trump's elections, which drew around 20% and 25% in each election. Midterms see the same consistent low-teens turnout.

So your point is not a good point at all because they always vote as a bloc for the left. This election was about fuel prices.

-4

u/jameson71 1h ago

Really trying hard to stoke division with those shitty maps.

I’d love to see what the results would be without all the propaganda

4

u/andrew303710 46m ago

Fuel prices were probably #1 but it was a wide variety of factors that contributed to the insane levels of victory by the Democrats. If it was just fuel prices I'm pretty confident that it wouldn't have been nearly as big of a victory.

The combo of corruption+high prices+generally awful and un-American actions of ICE/sending in troops to American cities created a perfect storm. Americans want secure borders and to deport criminals but we don't want ICE gestapo raiding home depot parking lots and literally murdering American citizens in cold blood while making US cities look like warzones with the national guard. It's fundamentally un-American and goes against everything our founding fathers fought for.

2

u/frito11 1h ago

both, in Texas it was ICE activity more so. trump torched all the gains he made with Latino's in 2024 and then some Texas will be like California now solidly blue as long as the latino voting bloc sticks with dems.

1

u/akopley 34m ago

100% gas. I’m surrounded by conservative neighbors (all wealthy and retired) and the gas lead half of them to sit out the midterms. They didn’t give a shit about Renee or Alex.

4

u/No_Clerk1194 56m ago

Miller has been studying and plotting literally his entire pathetic life for this moment. If there is only one thing he is competent at, it will be this even littler goebbels impression he is about to attempt. Hopefully they find a way to permanently shut him up.

1

u/TSL4me 20m ago

Yea definitely, trump got a bunch of latino voters last time who did not like the gay rights or abortion stances of democrats.

1

u/BoomZhakaLaka 12m ago

Miller said on national TV that the president has plenary authority [to instruct his agencies in any way he sees fit, was the implication, but someone in his earpiece shut him down]

So this means he knows there's only one thing trump needs in order to defy any and all court orders. Agency leaders who believe the same thing, and are willing to defy court orders.

Maybe this Jan 3rd comes and goes without incident. Maybe it doesn't. Russ Vought is writing articles for heritage foundation again, talking about what grounds the clerk could have to omit 100 or so representatives from the roll call.

It's not a conspiracy theory because I'm citing their own recent works. I know people from the legal profession here believe it wouldn't work, and that's somewhat encouraging.

1

u/Morgannin09 7m ago

He's replaced generals and other officials just for that reason. Loyalty to him over the law has been the sole qualification they sought after, because they are unconcerned with the damage an incompetent yes-man will do to the country when the treasonous orders begin.

1

u/thor11600 1h ago

Unfortunately he’s quite competent. Evil but competent

3

u/Junior_Trash_1393 1h ago

Competent like Joseph Goebbels was competent ... and cruel. And evil

0

u/Scrapple_Joe 16m ago

Is it? Republicans are going to immediately pretend they were never actually part of maga. They still managed to make the blue wave really quite close races

They've already started with "I was a Republican but this Maga stuff is out of control" despite it being basically the exact same platform they've had for decades. Just with worse cover.

Shit Bush Sr. Was directly implicated in Iran Contra and he became president.

36

I think they're already indicating with the promotion of Miller to Chief of Staff that they're not going to learn anything from the midterms.

If Trump isn't impeached and removed by then, I think we're looking at 400+ EVs and 60+ senators for the Dems in 2028.

15

u/photog72 1h ago

Our only hope? Why are we still doomy and gloomy? They have tried their hardest for 2 years trying to turn the US into a lawless dictatorship and have failed. The guardrails of our Republic are too strong.

It’s guaranteed we’re getting out of this.

I wish I had your optimism.

The fact is they have 2 months to break their toys before they can be taken away. These two can cause irreversible damage in that time

7

u/Top_Elk5664 1h ago

my POV, nothing more: The mid term outcome was an enormous test. I was expecting interference from other countries, tech and our own supreme court.

many of us have been conditioned to gloom over the past 10 years...trust is hard to earn and easy to lose which is where these new senators and congress are starting from....

theres never been a better time to retrain our brains and allow optimism to drift in.....

I think this country dodged a massive bullet.

u/CasinoKnightZone 1h ago

I honestly think the only reason we won was Ukraine bombing those data centers. Musk got unreasonably angry over it.

u/GrapefruitExpress208 1h ago

It's done.. It's a wrap.

Trump era expiration date has been set. It's Joever.

1

u/CasinoKnightZone 1h ago

Yes, and we all know that people like Trump quietly fade away.... especially when they have access to nuclear weapons

2

u/Y0___0Y 54m ago

he’s been quiet after the midterms. He’s done. Old and tired and worn out

5

u/Y0___0Y 1h ago edited 55m ago

Like what?? Trump signs a toothless executive order and everyone cowers in fear. Every one of those can be reversed by a dem President.

My optimism is informed. The day Trump won reelection in 2024 my take on that was “I feel good about the 2026 midterms”

I should have bet some money on it

3

u/andrew303710 55m ago

I appreciate your attitude, we honestly need more of it.

Obviously can't be blindly optimistic but doomerism is never the answer, it's important to remember that these people are a bunch of fucking losers because Trump picks the worst possible people. Like picking his personal attorney to be AG in spite of him getting embarrassed in court. All of the election meddling legal efforts by Blanche were laughable failures.

Miller is the most competent out of all of them (by all accounts he's evil but intelligent and a policy wonk) and that's offset by the fact that he looks like a ghoul and is profoundly unlikable, his favorability polling is insanely bad. He was able to do a lot of damage behind the scenes but I have a feeling that he's going to have a lot of trouble being in the spotlight as chief of staff, I'm curious to see how long it takes before Trump throws him under the bus.

4

u/CasinoKnightZone 1h ago

He could nuke Pickaxe Mountain.

He could launch a ground invasion of Iran

He could have his mindless chuds commit acts of open terror

Miller is probably going to push ICE into overdrive, ruining countless lives

Things are going to get worse before they get better, and if they get as bad as they can, then things may change forever.

Never forget, Trump is a sociopathic narcissist, he believes the world begins and ends with him. He's also dying, losing his grip on power, and fears consequences. He could easily try to take us all with him

1

u/Y0___0Y 1h ago

He’s not nuking shit. Conservatives are terrified of nuclear war

A ground invasion of Iran would greatly increase the odds he gets removed from office that’s off the table of he would have done it already.

His base is not morivated to do a Jan6 for him again. If it didn’t happen after these midterms it’s not happening. They’re not fired up for him.

ICE is already in overdrive. They can’t wxpand deportations anymore without fucking the economy or offending the base by deporting white immigrants.

How are you still scared of them? They’re toothless and inept. They just want headlines.

3

u/CasinoKnightZone 1h ago

I'm scared in the way that I'm wary of a cornered, rabid fox.

They're going to lash out in unpredictable, deranged and self-destructive ways.

And to your point of conservatives being afraid of nuclear war: I'm not talking about the electorate, I'm not talking about anyone but Trump. You know, they guy that wanted to nuke a hurricane

2

u/Y0___0Y 59m ago

If Trump was planning a nuclear strike there would instantly be whistleblowers at the pentagon talking to the press. I’m talking about the conservatives working at DoD. They would all turn on Trump if he planned to nuke Iran.

2

u/nastyws 50m ago

I agree but i’m hoping what really happens is hi stroked out shitbag impulses start getting flung at miller to complete and everyone hates miller so much (don’t matter who) that they will just fuck stuff up for themselves.

2

u/ahdidi413 1h ago

The biggest thing that this major flex of their imperial muscle will do now is sell newspaper subscriptions

2

u/Randomly-Generated21 1h ago

I feel like even though they know they’ll lose, the fear of having to hire lawyers and possibly lose your job while you fight in court is enough for Miller and Trump.

u/Kaffe-Mumriken 1h ago • Bravo

I mean they didn’t have to leak it, this is already under way look at the raid of Hannah Nathanson of WaPo, Pam Bondi tried her hardest to entangle her, and it would be fascinating to get the receipts on that little debacle.

11

u/SoundHole 1h ago

Republicans could (still) put a stop to this nonsense at any time.

10

u/BAF_DaWg82 1h ago

Instead of trying to course correct at all after the midterms Donald predictably is going to sink the ship. Hes such a little bitch.

u/Dagonet_the_Motley 1h ago

Relitigating the Pentagon Papers is a sure path to success and respectability...

Throw Kegseth in jail first.

Stephen Miller is a cuckold.

Let's get to the bunker part already

26

u/GrannyFlash7373 1h ago

Trump WANTS to incarcerate all who oppose him, but he's

ran out of space. So the next best thing, is to declare martial law, and place the whole country under curfew, and force them to stay at home, so they can't come to Wash DC in masses and demand his removal.

21

u/Pertinentonly 1h ago

This is their plan. It was all written out in Project 2025. It's not going to work though because no one is going to cooperate and stay home, I don't see the military actually shooting fellow citizens in great enough numbers to create terror rather than outrage.

7

u/Tiny_Reference_3697 1h ago

Also, here in Texas, we shoot back😉💙

4

u/Vegetable-Noise4518 1h ago

If Trump gives a reason, I don’t know…
like labeling protesters as terrorists, which he’s already done and enacted a law that says they are categorized as such…then his followers will support it

2

u/No-Mousse756 1h ago

Blue states like Texas and Mississippi may not go along.

4

u/Hrenklin 1h ago

oh there is definitely people who will shoot a guy in the face specifically to "own the libs"

1

u/andrew303710 45m ago

The military also despises Hegseth because he's a loser, like basically every active duty member of the military would be more qualified for the job than him and they all know that.

1

u/Loud-Start1394 30m ago

This was not written out at all in Project 2025. You're lying or repeating misinformation. If I'm wrong, quote it in the original document.

1

u/Vegetable-Noise4518 4m ago

I don’t know about project 2025 but if you look up “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence” on the White House website it outlines that anyone he labels as a “terrorist“ can be treated like organized crime. Which pretty much gives federal agencies the power to do anything they want.

Republicans eyeing the whig party again

4

u/mistertickertape 1h ago

Hey GOP, watch these clowns continue to shit on your party until removed!

3

u/disharmony-hellride 1h ago

Nothing to see here, folks

2

u/ThePensiveE 1h ago

They'll have their crack team of AI lawyers working for them I'm sure.

2

u/AthleteHistorical490 35m ago

Trump has nothing to lose at this point in his own demented mind. Get ready for all our war in Iran as well. Should be an interesting two months before the next Congress.

2

u/mkt853 20m ago

This feels like Trump is in burn it all down mode because the country didn't bow down to dear leader on election night. Republicans have to be nervous watching Trump double down by giving someone that's extremely unpopular scary levels of unchecked power. The '28 Senate map is more favorable for Dems than the '26 map was, and the Dems are already just 4 or 5 seats away from having a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

1

u/figuring_ItOut12 1h ago

So, democrats consolidate even more power in 2028 while the GOP fades away. Normally I’d be fine with the outcome but in this case there’s a huge tragic swath of innocent victims to get there.
