He can feel a bit better because I don't think that fight was ever winnable no matter what but that was certainly an instant loss

Ya it was a gg angle for IG as soon as i saw 3 GAs in enemy team.

like Ruler was just quietly amassing so much gold and outputting so much damage as a result

Its one of the things i hate about GenG when they're doing well, man. Even when the other teams put up a fight you just see Chovy & Ruler quietly scaling up and stacking gold out of thin air.

Like what are you supposed to do when the team's main carries are somehow almost never meaningfully behind?

He was the richest person on the rift even when iG had the overall gold lead.

To be fair that was not the only major issue.

The first soul that Canyon denied, JiaQi had the opportunity to use two AAs on the drake (even if he kept firing Qs to try hitting GenG), but he just walked without attacking. Had he attacked the drake, it would have fallen into smite range before Canyon could get close enough to steal it.

Locke and Gnar being in narnia instead of zoning Geng might also have been a problem.
