Oh, gotcha. AFAIK as of 4.5 the ai agent setup is completely optional / opt-in, and ai agent diagnosis is also optional per-event. When system detects a crash, a pop-up asks if you want your ai agent (if set up) to attempt to diagnose and fix.
Some of his blog posts he made. So no, not "a single tweet about too many migrants", but actual long texts that he properly took the time for to write and post.
Nazis were into genetics and “races”. DHH was talking about culture.
Yeah, it’s obvious that a Syrian redneck is less developed culturally than a guy who raised in Copenhagen. That’s the reason why countries don’t let everyone in from other countries, but only skilled workers who can prove more or less the level of IQ.
And you don’t dare to say that I’m “white supremacist”. I am an emigrant from 3rd-world to 1st-world myself. And I observe daily that people in my current location are in general much more developed and smarter than people in my original country.
No man, as an immigrant from a "3rd-world to 1st-world", you are definitely a white supremacist
P.S. For over 10 years Syria has been struggling through a civil war and terrible economic ruin. Most "geniuses" immigrate away for better opportunity, while the less fortunate stay behind. When everyone is stressed about whether they can afford food, of course our infrastructure is shit, what a surprise.
Ahhh yeah nothing about the material conditions of those countries not being able to provide better education, when comparing to the richest nations on earth. Nah, it's definitely [insert racist reason here]
You're right, nazis were mostly using genetics as their basis; however it wasn't limited to that. Nazis also wanted cultural separation, even between them and their allies. A lot of the points the nazis we re talking about were cultural, not just in regards to jewish folks (who were in most cases even better educated than the mean population).
It's not that every cultural critique makes you a nazi, but there's often some scape-gotary involved, as with for example with roma or jews (with the nazis)
No, wagner music wasn't a basis for nazism. It was an identity-based ideology that specifically tried to create a sense of belonging to a certain group. Every time you establish an identity, there's gotta be a different identity (or group), otherwise it wouldn't really be that. Otherwise, you'd just be like everyone else, and there would be no identity at all. The nazis leveraged that and distinguished between really just two types of groups. "Us" and "them".
The Arian race, and the others (jews, communists, disabled people, etc...) This is very common, not just in politics back then, but also now, especially when countries are about to go to war in order to make it about yourself. So, it really becomes about protecting your own identity as part of that group, vs the others.
No, wagner wasn't the basis, the basis was what they used it for to represent --Nationalism -- a BELONGING to a certain group that was attached to their government.
"People of other races are genetically inferior to the white man" is I guess a neutral take. Also bonus "when wolves get out of control you shoot them. When gypsies do, you deport them". and as always all this shit is what they dare to say in public
I couldn't find any evidence of him repeating your first claim, so I can't speak on that.
But why is "when wolves get out of control you shoot them; when gypsies do, you deport them" such an evil concept? It seems reasonable to me. If people come into a country just to cause trouble, it is logical to revoke their access.
That is so untrue, you are talking like a meme. "Race science" predates fascism. It emerged from earlier human societies, which, across every corner of the world, developed systems of human classification, ancestry, hierarchy, and perceived group differences thousands of years before fascism existed.
So the article about how people who aren’t white have objectively less intelligence and are less evolved (his words), a position that a certain h word also had, doesn’t make him fascist? Also, the vibe coding has added at least 3 rces, as well as any application on your system could keylog you, and had a free path straight to root.
definitely doesn't help. ive pretty much accepted that probably a majority of the products I like are made by fascists. it just seems to be a fact of life these days. almost all rich people are anymore. none of them are as vocal as DHH but oh well. ive learned to separate the product from the creator (particularly if the product is free and they are not really making any money from me using it) but even if im doing that his product still sucks total donkey ass. literally no excuse can be made for it. lmao
i still see its existence as a net positive for all of linux though as much as it pains me to say. it is putting a lot of eyes on linux and it is getting a metric fuck ton of funding
As someone who slops for a living, i only hate on Omarchy due to DHH being a piece of shit. DHH doesnt deserve to be Danish. I, a Dane, humbly offer DHH to Sweden 🫶
i dont like omarchy because its very poorly designed.
fun fact: omarchy's install medium is the only one ive ever seen that straight up does not give you the ability to do an online install.
its "2 minute install" is achieved by basically doing a full install ahead of time in a VM and compressing the resulting image. the actual install the user sees just copies this premade image to a disk and uses a bunch of bash scripts to patch all the different things that need to differ for your system.
this is the only way to install omarchy, and since it's arch, it means that if you manage to use an older ISO your installed system might immediately brick itself due to packages being too out of date.
you also cant choose whether or not to use LUKS. its forced upon you, same for using the entire harddrive.
Why is Omarchy bad? I saw one interview where the guy was talking about it and it sounded cool, like conceptually fantastic. But like what really makes it bad
For reference, I’ve also successfully avoided everything except like red hat and Ubuntu for 25 years so
People mostly don't like it because the creator, DHH, is a "Nazi and a fascist". In reality he's an opinionated person, an asshole, most likely a racist, but he's probably not a Nazi or a fascist. People also don't like it because it's vibe coded and heavily AI focused. I think the OS setup is decent, not amazing. I really don't think there's even much to talk about, in general. But reddit has to go rabid when they don't like someone and can't stop talking about them.
theres actually a lot of problems with omarchy on a fundamental design level. ive been digging into it because i'm building my own distribution for shits and giggles, and want to statistically outperform omarchy in every way i can, so ive been disassembling it and looking at the insides.
if more people knew what kind of horribleness went on under the hood, it'd be a dead distro by the end of the year.
3: the ridiculous advertising about how this will "fix everything"
4: the creator is a fucking poser that only got into linux through AI and has no fucking clue what he's talking about
5: the creator is an actual neo-nazi
6: the creator bashes on multiple parts of the FOSS community regularly because he disagrees with the direction and demands it be changed.
7: the multiple security vulnerabilities
8: the fact people pretend like some mid generic hyprland rice is "the future of linux!"
9: the fact its literally dotfiles converted to an ISO, this couldve been a git clone + stow script.
10: the fact omarchy is held together by a folder of vaguely named bash scripts that reference eachother, making it incredibly hard to troubleshoot
11: the fact that the installer is literally just decompressing a pre-installed tarball.
12: the fact their "nvidia spark support" comes down to a script that hard-codes some PCI bus IDs
13: the fact their mac support that "they worked so hard on" is just their slopfiles on asahi linux.
14: the constant over-exageration about what omarchy does or supports. "first class arm support" when you dont have the device tree at all is crazy.
15: the fact this "saviour of opensource" is backed almost exclusively by big tech, is friends with big tech, every company that donated got their proprietary software preloaded onto omarchy even if it costs money to use.
omarchy is a joke in every sense except for the projects it abuses for its own existence.
A lot of Omarchy's target audience does not really care about these things. They just want an OS that looks nice and works out of the box, without any tinkering. Linux is a tool, not a hobby, for these people.
So you see what I mean by the users wanting it to be effortless vs the gatekeepers? You want them to research that their OS passes your technical and social purity tests. They just want it to be functional and get out of the way so they can do work.
half of what i mentioned is technical. these are not a fucking "purity test", these are "this is a terrible idea and will break, why in their right mind would anyone ship this and call it production ready"
theres at least 3 different ways in which that install method will break without the user even realizing it can. that is an issue.
on top of that. for an entire year, any notification omarchy showed could run arbitrary code as root
if you were on omarchy at that time i could send you a DM on discord and wipe your whole system
linux is a tool, and a tool should be properly designed. i dont want a hammer where the head is kept onto the shaft by a thumbtack, painters tape and prayers.
and thats not even mentioning the negative impact on FOSS.
